Y’know, in a place like Texas I’m surprised they don’t use Adobe. It’s not like they need to worry about routine earthquakes. It’s great for heating and cooling. Cheap too. Basically fire retardant.

I’ve went outside and help with with diverting traffic and hand out water. Especially to the firefighters.

I had a cousin thats in Balch springs he escaped im currently in mexico but i had onether family member thats with us and see also Lives in balch springs show was crying we werre in Walmart when the hole thing happend and they saved her dog but they also had a cat but the cat hissed and let her go but let the door open so she could escape basicly i heard i was heart broken but currentlyim here in mexico

Thats how the Piedmont fire in south Dakota started some a hole mowing grass when its beyond dry high heat and humidity with strong winds. What the heck are people thinking. When its this dry hot and windy you have you take extra care or put crap off till conditions permit. Hope they charge this individual. Mower blade versus rock equals spark to massive fire in a second.

The most common method for a bush fire to cause a house to catch fire is embers landing on the roof, or being drawn into air-conditioners or other vents, ignition the dry materials within the building.
Don’t forget, the inside of a structure is at a lower air pressure than the air moving around that structure. The materials which make up that structure are very dry and pre-heated wood, plastics and other materials which are generally very flammable. Not to mention that you North Americans generally use tar-shingles as your roofing, which are highly flammable.
Here in Australia, we have had poorly constructed and maintained buildings ignited from embers carried from fires over 20km away. Frequently. While a similar, but well maintained structure immediately beside it has barely been scorched.

Most of these people were likely at work when this happens. I was on my way home when I drove past it.
When an event like this happens, water pressure in the local grid plummets, as everyone is trying to protect their property. The only way to ensure enough water is to plan ahead. Ensure that local building codes, in areas where a fire risk exists, insist that property owners install water tanks under or around private structures, have a pump and sprinkler system.
In Australia this is commonplace in the urban fringe.
Every high school athlete needs to be a volunteer firefighter. The future is today. Buy the gear and train people, every city. Every country.
It might not be a bad idea for places to start asking for volunteer firefighters .

This was a very fast running grass fire. Probably did the damage you see in 10-20minutes. Helicopter would not have even got off the ground in that short time.

@@loisjenkins9563 There is a very high percentage of people that lose their generational wealth by the 2nd or 3rd generation. They didn't earn it so they cannot comprehend the value of it very well even if you teach them. So I wouldn't pin it on that as much, they squander it.
