  • The Vancouver Canucks beat the Edmonton Oilers in game 5 of the 2nd round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs! The Oilers have been pushed to the brink by the late game goal from J.T. Miller! This series has been neck and neck and I love it! The Oilers showed some life but were ultimately shut down by the Canucks going 0 for 5 on their power play and were out shot 35 to 23. The big questions now are who will start in net for the Oilers in game 6 and what happens to Edmonton this summer if they get knocked out again. All eyes will be on this game Saturday night! The pressure is on Edmonton, all Vancouver has to do is close them out!

The two teams have seen each other , 10 times this season and Vancouver has come out on top in 8 out of ten. Even with a lucky bounce here and there they are still the better team. I could not understand how all the TSN analysts decided that it was time to inaugurate the Edmonton oilers before the series even started. So the Canucks are going to finish it up in Edmonton it should be a very exciting game.go Canucks go

REALLY hoping to see 2 of my 3 favorite teams play each other in the Conference Finals (Stars vs. Canucks)

they closed out the series in nashville and that series was a lot tougher than this one. if pettersson continues his upward mobility and game play i like the canucks chances to send edmonton on to their summer holidays on saturday. we'll give garland a pass on that one as he has been the best forward on most nights since the playoffs started. whadaya think mr expert?

Both of McDrai are dominant offensively but they're horrible in their own zone.

When Calvin Pickard is the best of your 2 goalies you might have goalie problems

That's absolutely true, but I don't think he looked bad last night. Weird deflections and his guys giving the puck away right by the crease put him in a bad spot.

@@TJ_Loves2fish oh he absolutely did, he definitely has solid moments but when your other goalie sucks so bad you are relying on him to win you a cup probably not going to end well.

@@TJ_Loves2fishHe plays very far out in the crease. This has benefits as you block more of the net...however it makes follow up saves off rebounds very difficult to save as you are out of position and leaving a wide open net on your flanks

Pickard was the best player on the Oilers in game 5

@@jacki630 It turns out they're starting Skinner. We'll see how he takes the pressure.

The Oilers cannot leave elimination up to their backup. If they are going down, it will be with Skinner. If they do go down, they can address the situation in the off season. If they lose…. Again…. I’ll be laughing my ass off 🤣😂

I was kinda thinking the same thing. I think Skinner starts game 6. Pickard doesn't deserve to be fed to the wolves possibly losing a elimination game because of a bunch of softies let in by Skinner.

    Western conference is the best!
