- I'm trying Sniper Elite 5's Axis Invasion mode from the Allied side this time! Join Harry Hawker: Invader Stalker all round cheeky forker as he piles up the Sniper Jager body count with his own particular brand of cockney(ish) panache. This is a rare treat as the production on this has been exhausting; it has taken twice as long to produce than a standard invasion video! 100% respect for enable axis on authentic: no hud , no focus, no AI tagging for Allied side, while the Axis side still have everything. The only wins i have in authentic on Allied side are Trap kills.
There is an option toggle that allows the invader to set their hud to match authentic players which I have set to on (meaning hud is off when playing invader against authentic players), buts it’s an opt-in and is off by default. The tagging cannot be disabled for the invader at all as there is no option, and that sucks!

Excellent, less Karl talk. Got to hear all the Dckwit comments. I always use headphones when in Invasion Mode. The other players movements/running is usually very distinct from the AI.
Been playing as Harry since first run thru, Karls yapping wore thin early for me...

The music that plays when you complete an objective sounds a little like "The Final Countdown" by Europe - and now that's stuck in my head.

That is my secret to every war game.
I have a 250 dollar pair of surround sound noise canceling headphones, so whe me and friends are playing games I always tell them you have to whisper, I am listening for the enemy. And we often do sneak up on enemies.
Been watching through this whole playlist and honestly, as you say, it's not the reaction time. But while the sound cues definitely helps I think the key to your success is more in that you're extremely deliberate. You rarely throw caution to the wind, when you see someone you rarely go straight for the kill but stay in cover and think through your actions beforehand. Well played!

Just for clarification, not all the Germans in WW2 were members of the Nazi party, the SS were more known for being the actual Nazis while the Wehrmacht were just countrymen serving said country.

@@cursedhawkins1305True-ish, but the Wehrmacht were also guilty of their fair share of war crimes. And “not a member of the Nazi Party” doesn’t automatically they were opposed to Nazi policies or that their hands were clean.

Playing from the allied player's perspective during invasions is honestly much more fun than playing from the invader's perspective.
I have music turned off in my game. Really helpful. You hear much more 👌
how do you turn off the music and if you do this does that mean you can't also not hear footstep and running?

Man I’m almost afraid to try the invasion mode these days lol. The days of farming console players who know nothing are over and it’s just battle tested sharks prowling the waters. Maybe one day I’ll give it another go and get that ghilli suit.
It's certainly getting more difficult! There are some really experienced, tough opponents out there now!
Hey there Duckwit! Recent sub here, just wanted to say that I absolutely adore your videos. Been watching them pretty much non-stop at work (13-hour night shifts) for the past week and it inspired me to actually go and pick up the game after being on the fence for quite a while. I am- however- pretty bad currently and would like to know if you have any general tips for new players? Cheers!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos! Best advice for new players is to find a difficultly level you are comfortable with and use the aim assist; I wouldn’t jump straight into authentic difficulty! If you get tagged during an invasion, move immediately! Your choice of weapons is important, if struggle to land hits first time then a fast firing rifle like the RSC or Gewehr 43 is a good choice. Don’t be afraid to use your traps in choke points to cover your back, and always make sure you have a cleared area to fall back to if you get invaded so that you can fall back to a safe territory so that you don’t have to deal with AI and a human at the same time (if playing as Karl), and if playing as invader just move carefully, take your time and move through the uncleared areas of the map and tag your AI allies so you can see their alert state and their location on the map if they die. Also be aware that running through open spaces can give you away and that running or changing weapons near a human opponent can give you away due to the sound!
But the most important thing is to just play, practice and don’t be discouraged if you find it difficult at first. As with anything it’s about learning and experience, and remember there is no punishment for losing, the game only counts your wins so focus on that! Good hunting!

When was it removed?/is 12x the authentic zoom?/which scope was it? I can only deduce by the fact that I don't seem to have noticed that I'm probably not too bothered 😂
@@duckwit85 they didnt. it just didnt work for me but now it does oops lol but it was the zf39 scope it says 6x authentic scope but still zooms to 12x
Good fun - you are damned quick and accurate. Secret Weapons is a great map - very much advantage to the invader early doors but Karl or ‘arry get the advantage late on.
BTW I’ve not seen you trap a phone as the invader nor get caught by one either. It disables the phone and give a real ear bashing!
I’ve been caught out by a trapped phone only once that I can remember, and it was on Secret Weapons!
Hitman should have a gamemode like this

Hey Duckwit, love your videos. Hope to get matchd against you someday soon. Question: Is there any benefit to tagging the enemy player? Because so far I've just assumed that it's more worthwile to not tag them and therefore not having them know that I see them.
Great question, and generally your assumption is correct. It can be useful on occasions where they are pinned in a corner, or against an authentic player where they can’t tag you, but you can tag them and use it to help like an aim assist (which isn’t available on that difficulty). Otherwise it’s just an notification stating “I can see you”!
i got invaded on kraken awakes and a guy was hunting me and knew where i was but decided to wander around and wondered into a mine with tnt i love doing that to peope

How did he survive the mine in Liberation kill 14? And why does Harry tell you he set it off even though he couldn’t have known?
A single mine is not enough to kill an invader, never has been. Also your character always comments automatically when the invader triggers a mine as a way of signalling to player that they’ve injured them. All the characters do it and it’s for gameplay reasons.
Ok, apparently I'm clueless, how do you get Harry?
When starting the campaign mission, right before starting the mission on the same screen where you can choose loadout and starting location on the map is the option to select your character.

10:50 the reason for that death sound is if you shoot someone in the neck and hit the artery the blood will fill your lungs thats why the guy sounds like he is drowning neat detail by rebelion

Yes, but you can replay the missions using other characters in the same way you can play as Karl wearing different outfits. There are several other characters you can play as including several alternate outfits for Karl.
Karl himself is actually British, born in Germany but raised in America. I think they must have wanted him to appeal to a wide audience.
From what I read his father was a British American ambassador living in Germany .. and they don't really say where Karl was born but he grew up in Germany and then attended military school in america but then it reads that he was enlisted into the British army so his backstory is all over the place.. they never even mention his mother .. for all we know she could have been a German making him German born.. so giving him a very British voice in sniper elite 5 throws things off too seeing as he didn't have the accent in the first few games prior...
@@rickc1682 Karl is a bit of an enigma, although his accent in SE5 is most definitely American and not British. Its the same voice actor as in the previous games, who I believe is an American voice actor based in the UK. If you mean the character in this video, thats not Karl, that's Harry Hawker who is also a playable character in SE4, although he himself is a mystery as I'm pretty sure his accent was upper-class English but in SE5 he has a working class cockney accent.
One thing I can clear up is Karl's birthplace. The cutscene at the end of Atlantic Wall (SE5 mission 1) states he was "born and raised in Deutschland, at least for a few years" and he is a fluent German speaker. As for the rest of it though, I think they've just been throwing random information in over the years so his lineage is unclear. He also looks like Derek Zoolander in Sniper Elite 1, so his appearance since V2 to now was a good change! 🤣

I would get clapped 9/10 times easily
The probably the most fun is hiding like a true sniper but the thing is this game is easy to kill other players if they have just nearly finished the first objective you move to 2nd or 3rd or final and ambush kill them all
