    Great Tips & Tricks. Just getting my tools together. I got a Bauer 10amp wet vac discounted & collected 3 Hand Held steamers from thrift stores but also got Harbor Freight $126 Steamer unit. I had an idea for the wet rugs & upholstery. See what you think, place a couple 500 watt Halogen Work lights in vehicle for Heat (work better if you take safety glass off) & place a small Dehumidifier in vehicle with sealed windows. The Heat from a Halogen Light bulb (short wave) penetrates deeper than any form of heat.

    Hi Nick, can you make a video on a dry carpet cleaning method.
    Such as misting an enzyme cleaner/pre spot.
    Then layering an alkaline general carpet cleaner on top/drill brushing.
    Towel drying or steaming if necessary.
    Then using a neutraliser/rinse chemical/peroxide.
    Would love if the DIY detail carpet line has capability to be used in this way.

However, something I've never understood since the time when discussions of adjusting the fabric's pH levels first appeared on the old detailing forums, and newer videos: if water generally has a pH of about 7, why wouldn't you always be fine if you just make the final rinse and extraction plain water? Wouldn't that in itself leave the fibers with a neutral pH, because it's the final liquid to touch the fibers? What am I missing?

    • @HawkProDetailing
      @HawkProDetailing  Před 4 lety +1

      79% of all particulates in carpet are dry. Which means they don't dissolve with steam or degreaser...so they turn to mud if you get them wet first. Best way to do carpets is to get as much dry soil out as possible...using vacuum, brush compressed air...whatever you can...before you spray pre spray

I purchased a chief steamer 125 PSI last month with the optional steam/vac hose. I'm very happy with the cleaning results, but not so much with stains. I don't think it's the steamer, but the user thats the problem. I do plan on purchasing some better cleaning products. I will use your links to purchase as appreciation all your videos but was wondering if you have any suggestions for me . I really don't want to invest in a hot water extractor at this time. Do you think that the Bio Break and Flex Ice would work ok with the steam/vac? If not, do you have any other suggestions for heavy hitting stains? If so, please provide a link and I'll make sure I click on it when I purchase. Thanks again for all you do Nick.

      Hey Kevin! Try using a Bissell or rug doctor (150 bucks tops) and put HOT water into them before using. Rely on chemistry of encap spot for goofy stains. Give it dwell time And, then tamp down on stain with a towel and see if your stain moves into towel. Try agitating stain. And rely on chemistry of bio break for breaking crud down...15 mins dwell time firsr. Plus agitation to do its thing. Only then would I introduce steam....and then extraction ....bio break does wonders but not all stains come out...and you can set stains with heat if you're not careful so I use heat last

    Great video. Lots of information for a professiona newl detailer who should be kissing your feet.
    I am just a home dad with a coffee stain that I cannot get out of my light tan carpet. I have the Bissell Big Green machine and even with their product and some homemade stain removers this coffee stain won't come out.
    Of the products you've listed above what can I use with my machine safely that will do the trick? Thanks.

      Coffee is tricky...did it have cream, for instance? Caffeinated or decaf? I would literally Google "aramsco" ... they might have a storefront near you. That or Jon Don. Talk to them about your carpet type, an effective product, and worst case they ship it to you.

      @achkc Před 4 lety

      @@HawkProDetailing Thanks for the response! I'll have to dry out the Encap. What I have found from the encap products is when you are trying to move about efficiently they can take a bit to dry completely, thus the search for a more dry shampoo for well maintained vehicle that don't need a heavy extraction/steam process.

    Extractors DO NOT have the suction level of a DRY/WET VAC. I'm gonna say one thing about the actual vacuuming side of extracting, mytee extractors spray hot water/solution with suction for $1600+. You could spray hot water/solution and use a dry/wet vac with even more suction (yes they do have more suction than the mytee extractors) and get the same results. A good dry/wet vac is $100-$200. Otherwise great video, thank you for the content, excellent material.
