I was surprised to see the amount of comments expressing concern in regard to safety in and around Milan Centrale.
I was there a few weeks ago and found the station to be very clean and safe. Obviously, all people and especially tourists need be aware of their surroundings, but that applies anywhere.
In fact I was super impressed with the scale and architecture of Milan Centrale, and would regard it as one of the main tourist attraction in Milan, second only to the Duomo and the Galleria.
Also, I found the metro very easy to negotiate, and the quickest and cheapest way to visit the main attractions in the city.

But if it’s unsafe it’s unsafe. It’s ok. It isn’t personal. If you’re a tourist it’s good to know. It doesn’t mean anyone hates the place but there are valid tips

@@LuckyFish3000 You are stating the obvious by saying 'if it is unsafe, it's unsafe'. It is equally valid to say, 'if it's safe, it's safe'. To be honest, both comments are just gobbledegook.
I recounted my experience that I found the place clean and safe, and that I was impressed with its architecture.
I also said that all people, especially tourists, should be aware of their surroundings. That applies to any place you are and not particularly to Milan Centrale.

Hi, we are travelling from Zurich to Venice this August and will need to pass by Milan on our way. We were thinking of doing a quick stop of 1hr to see the Duomo. Is 3 hrs enough time to do that including time to get back to Milano centrale? Is it hard to find the luggage area? Hi, the fastest and cheapest way to travel between the two is to use the green line of the subway (called Metro or Metropolitana), which is very frequent during the day (currently the single ticket costs 2.20 euros). The two stations are very close (it would take about 20 minutes on foot), so if the trains are on time, you shouldn't have any particular time problems, 1 hour is more than enough 😁.

Take the WEST GATE exit, then make your way to Via Tonale keep going until you found big intersection with Via Melchiore Gioia. It's a walking distance to but if you have luggage better take Taxi or use metro Yellow Line M3 it's only one stop at Sondrio from Centrale, take the direction to Comasina.

Hola, entre el aeropuerto de Malpensa y la estación central, siempre se puede tomar el autobús o el tren exprés de Malpensa.

Thanks. Would you recommend buying Malpenso express tickets from airport to Milan Centrale on app or buy on the spot from counter or ticket machine? Is there a Pay and Go service that we can pay by debit or credit card? Appreciate your reply

it used to be a monument. the most beautiful station in Europe. The latest upgrade destroyed the whole beauty

The commercials upgrade at one side gave access to tourist to do some shopping and may generate as revenue to businesses, but it does sacrifice the beauty of this grand station.

@@StrollingAround Stations are public domain and should be maintained with tax payer incomes. they gutted and dismantled part of the station making difficult to understand where to go

Why would any Italian visit Starbucks? It's absolutely mad

    • @StrollingAround
      @StrollingAround  Před rokem

Personally, I would suggest going to any Bar around the corner for a quick espresso as they would call it a normal coffee, I guessed Starbucks is the safest spot to order a cup of cappuccino past noon without getting a strange face from the barista. 😆

    John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

I was approached by a young woman asking me if I could buy her food at the Burger King, she was hungry and didn't have any money. I was cautious in case this could be a scam and declined politely. Now I'm feeling guilty in case she was sincerely hungry and I was being mean 🥲

It does feel heart breaking most of the time and being polite declining is maybe the better way, sadly still I would remind most people to be very careful. I would prefer help through an organization that does help people in need.
