I didn't even mention the microphone, about how it was gold colored and how the part that holds the microphone came up with the mic when he was walking around. I thought that was really interesting

This is not his band the revolution, this is the NPG aka New Power Generation & yes these are two different songs. This is also not the full performance, he performed Diamonds and pearls before this. Where he gave a beautiful guitar solo. Prince always changed his bands basically yearly because he liked different sounds and vibes. One year Prince would do a lot of jazz, funk, pop, r&b & then the next year he'd switch his band & start doing metal songs or remixes of his songs. I highly reccomend reacting to "Prince and The Revolution - Let's Go Crazy (Live in Syracuse, NY, 3/30/85)" Your reactions are so fun! 🤗

That's pretty cool. It must have been an experience to tour with Prince, even if it was just for a year. That one is on the list to check out

So happy you enjoyed that performance! This was the last portion of his performance that night. He started with Diamonds & Pearls, did the opening line from Let’s Go Crazy, and ended with Baby I’m a Star into Push (yes, they are 2 songs). Prince was always masterful at transitioning from one song to another during live performances. I saw him twice on the Musicology tour and don’t think there was a break in music the entire show. He just went from song to song and his band continued playing when he would change outfits, etc. This band is the New Power Generation (NPG). Even though the members changed, Prince used that name for his bands for most of the rest of his career (other than 3rd Eye Girl in the 2010s). This lineup is the original one - Rosie Gaines (keys and vocals), Sonny T (bass), Tommy Barbarella (keys), Michael Bland (drums), Levi Seacer, Jr (guitar), and the dancers playing the tambourines nicknamed “The Game Boyz” (that’s the rapper/dancer Tony M, and dancers Kirk Johnson and Damon). Prince was very charitable but insisted on remaining anonymous. Since he passed (which will be 8 years ago on Sunday, 4/21), band members have talked about the many shows the did at children’s hospitals while they were on tour. Prince would only do them if the hospital promised to keep it quiet with no publicity. He insisted that the band do the whole show with the same energy they did their performances on tour. He was an amazing man as well as a genius musician. 💜💜💜 Here’s the link to the Diamonds & Pearls performance from this Special Olympics performance in case you want to check it out czcams.com/video/_JaVJOEgi8Q/video.htmlsi=_AEHCpbQ8fCOLmWz

He was always so clean and neat with his clothes that he designed as well and had made for him by his wardrobe studio at Paisley Park. He had full decision about his looks including hair. It was all part of the presentation. He created the whole Dynamic.

He was always full of energy especially when he was younger. He slowed down in the 2000’s a little with the dancing because of hip problems caused by the crazy dancing in heels. This wasn’t the Revolution but his new band the New Power Generation or NPG for short. The Revolution broke up in 1986.

Yeah getting old isn't the best, but at least at one point he was able to move. How many bands did he work with?

Prince was breathtaking, but sacrificed so much for his craft. Will always love him.

So at this point in 1991 Prince had been in the professional game for 13 years. He was hella seasoned. He’d released 12 albums, won numerous awards, and had been through a lot of changes. At this point Prince was unveiling his new band The New Power Generation and a forthcoming new album called “Diamonds & Pearls” before performing “Baby I’m A Star/Push” he performed a brand new song called “Diamonds & Pearls” with his band that was due to be released soon. For good measure, he decided to do an one of his old classics from the 1984 “Purple Rain” soundtrack called “Baby I’m A Star” and merged it with one his newest songs called “Push”.

I saw Prince in London the following year with this band. Imagine this energy in a 2 hour concert. It was remarkable.

It was two songs melded together. The beginning “Dearly beloved” part is actually the beginning of Let’s Go Crazy.

Great reaction! Prince was and still is in my opinion the best live performer. He always gave 110%.
There are so many good Prince songs for you to discover. I hope you decide to go to the purple rabbit hole and do a deep dive into his catalogue.

gys why you ask prince fans to tell the stories instaed of searching and then make up your videos....prepare your staff to introduce it to public outside (?) anyway NPG is on this era and later The Revolution was mostly in the 8O's

I like to create conversations in the comment section of each video, especially on artists I'm unfamiliar with. Going and reading on Wikipedia is boring to me. Also there is no staff here. It's just me. Sometimes I bring in other content creators to react with, but that's really it

@@AceofBadeReacts its not only wiki...just type anything on google and the results you get its probably more than you expect - from books to documentaries to anything. I say its better to educate yourself beforehand cause opinions could be false and wrong - and then you get the right to discuss and hear or read opinions and even tell your opinion - That s an advice for everything you want to learn from Prince to mathematics to Nuclear Physics to literature and human cultures to history. The opinion is to be willing to learn. As for Prince educate yourself to the tales of Suzan Rogers for a start.... Thnx

@@gfanarakos It would be nice, but to be fair, I can't fully educate myself on any 1 artist on this channel like I would want to unless this became a full time job. Time management just doesn't allow doing my full time job, getting reactions up of a variety of artists, learning about all the other artists. It becomes too much and overwhelming. I can only do so much
