    Everybody tells the German language learners, how hard the TestDaF exam is, which actually is not the case! Here I will tell you, how you can clear TestDaF in 5 months with 17 points and 2 months with 13 points.
    TestDaF, the Abkürzung of Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache is a test that the Masters Aspirants take in order to show their language proficiency. It enjoys a special reputation of being acknowledged worldwide and if you get a 4 in every module of it, there is almost no University in Germany who will deny you the admission!
    Like I have been saying, since my first video, that learning German will pay off. It will be a great addition to your skills and opens for you the Job market not only in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, but almost the whole world because of the strong German economy and their encouragement to young start ups, which develop a brand of their own and start employing other people to work for them.

    May I ask why did you choose to study using a B2 Kursbuch instead of C1? Which were the advantages? Thanks! :)

    • @BharatinGermany
      @BharatinGermany  Před 7 lety +102

      Hi Andrea! That's a very intelligent question. My reason for studying B2 Arbeitsbuch (Like I said in the video, I never actually did the Kursbuch) was that I knew I couldn't attain the level of C1 so fast. ( I started learning for TestDaF in February end and my TestDaF exam was on 22nd April) That's why I decided to get really good in B2 and till the 2nd attempt of TestDaF, I would be able to achieve C1 with more practice. After the B2 level, the only difference that comes into your language learning process is how much you practice and how much vocabulary you know. Most of the Grammar is already covered till the B1 part and the B2 covers the remaining important ones. So, the main advantage for me at that situation was the ability to cover more topics with lower difficulty and then being able to pass the exam.
      I did A1, A2, B1 and then B2 only with the help of books and websites which were free. To get to C1 and to pass the TestDaF, I used the Cornelsen Pruefungstraining and Deutsche Welle website, which fortunately, were more than enough in the end! :)

    I started learning German even before I had heard anything about GRE, TOEFL,IELTS or any such exam and it wasn't even taught in my school. Reason was I had a passion for learning various languages and become a polyglot. I picked up German as my first language and learned thru internet for free and bought few books too . At this point in my life , I have completed my b.tech in electrical and looking for courses in Germany. I think this is gonna come handy now . Everyone told me I was wasting my time learning a new language for no reason (except my parents) . I am gonna prepare to see some nose bleeds now 😁.
    I can directly go for Testdaf now right? Or do still need to clear B1, B2

      @BharatinGermany  Před 7 lety +17

      karan purohit Karan, like I said, I had my own reasons to learn the language. I definitely faced problems when I went to the university but for that I took lesser courses, so that I can be a bit comfortable with the studies and the language. You are right about the English part too. Unfortunately, they don't encourage it in India, but I made mine better with the TV series, presentations and music and I did the same for German too. :)
      But yes, you can attend lecture write exams and everything but it definitely will be difficult but you shouldn't stop because of it. When you are in that situation, just keep pushing!

    Bharat’s success is not an isolated case and let me tell you why, given that you already have Bharat’s motivation this rapid achievement attributes to couple of catalyst which I don’t expect Bharat to mention but they exist.
    1. You have german speaking girl/boyfriend or wife/husband.
    2. You are forced to deal daily in your task with people who only speak german.
    3. You are directly/indirectly humiliated and annoyed by german speaking people.
    If you are as lucky as Bharat 1st catalyst will give you the sweetest result on bed of roses. Because you don’t fulfil 1, obviously you can’t be as motivated as Bharat . So it is worth paying money for courses to fulfil at least some portion of criteria 2. If Bharat didn’t have his wife and also didn’t join any course I would’ve really wondered about his source of motivation.

Finally, are you saying that DW website is sufficient to clear A1 to B2

    • @BharatinGermany
      @BharatinGermany  Před 7 lety +1

      Hey Jehanzaib! I would actually suggest to do your Bachelors here, because what I personally feel is that, there is a sudden change from the level of Bachelors to Masters in Germany. In India, the education system till the school is great but I don't like it that much in the Universities. If you ever wrote AIEEE or JEE, then, your maths will be way better than what the students here learn even in their Bachelors.
      If possible, you should come here for your Bachelors. I unfortunately, can't advice you on that, because I didn't experience that procedure myself either.
      And thanks a lot for your encouraging words! :)

    He says that A1 A2 are no big deal. Let me correct something. I somehow agree with Bharat that A1, A2 and B1 are nothing but not in the sense he means or their German content. So basically the pillars of German language and grammar are laid out in these levels initial levels (A1 to B1). HOWEVER they seem nothing and easy because the exams aren't that difficult, and they don't drill you as they should . So Telc for instance would test your knowledge but these first 3 levels of exams are not as hard as their course content. For example in Schreiben or writing, you really need to write about 8 to 10 sentences and use few grammatical rules not even 30 percent of what you study.
    So, having a solid foundation makes b2 and future levels go smoothly

    Hi Bharat ! incredible achievement. I really admire your decication. Can you advise me about C1. I need to know, how must I plan. Number of hours per week, Timeline and Resources. I am a student in Germany(since last year) and have a B1 certification

    • @BharatinGermany
      @BharatinGermany  Před 7 lety +4

      I don't actually want to advise you or anybody anything about C1 because that's what the level I am at right now. So, if I only feel justified, if I am able to help somebody till B2. With C1 things get way easier. You just have to keep listening to more and more Deutsche Welle Audios, Videos, TV, articles from paper, almost anything that you can find. With B1, you have a base of understanding everything and after that, you only need to just keep reading, listening and talking more and more and more. I also think, it's also better to keep in touch with an exam preparation book, if you actually want to achieve a specific level. For example, I only bought the Pruefungstraining TestDaF and that was fine. I knew where I am lacking and I knew where I need to improve.
      Resources are really unlimited on the internet. You just have to google and go up to page 4 of the result and you will everything that you actually need for yourself. I personally feel that after B2, the difference between B2/C1/C2 start getting a bit hazy. A person who is very good at B2, will be good at C1 and would be not so great at C2. But the same doesn't apply for the levels of B1 to A1.
      Number of hours per week you have to decide for yourself. Some people make a lot of progress in lesser hours and some can't. The end motive has to be to learn new everyday and that you can do either actively, by taking time out for the language, or passively, by interacting with texts that you see or talking to different people or by just listening to radio and TV! :)

      Bharat in Germany! Not really, after B1 theoretically you need to know 2000 more words per level.provided you learn all grammar till b1 it’s merely a game of vocabulary ,of course listening gets tougher but it’s tougher due to new words and sentence complexities

    Hi, how much German did you know before studying? I completed a course at a B2 level, but it has been at least a year since I did that, and I think my written German is back down to a B1 level, and my spoken German is down to a A2 level. Does anyone think it's possible to pass the test with at least 4s in less than 3 months if I study at least 1 hour a day?

    Hi Bharat.
    Did you score 13 Points in 2 months without any knowledge of german or 2 months of studiyng after you completed a B2 course?

    • @BharatinGermany
      @BharatinGermany  Před 7 lety +6

      Hi! I scored 13 points in TestDaF with 2 months of studying B2. My exam was on 22 April and till that date, I could only complete the part B2.1 of Ziel Arbeitsbuch. I started doing the Ziel B2.1 Arbeitsbuch on 20th February and the first 12 days, I took to make myself comfortable with the language and properly learning A2 and having some idea of B1. With my progress I understood that if I spend so much time on each level, I would not be able to complete the TestDaF in time. That's why I did the important grammar topics of B1 and started directly with B2.1. I did not go to any professional language course and did it at home from the books of German, deutsche welle, dartmouth.edu (Go to their German institute sources on google, great website for grammar topics), duolingo and whatever else that I could find online. I had to be very picky and choose which topics I can cover quickly from which source and that's how I tried to go through as many topics as possible in the least time but I revised them everyday. This is not ideal but I did not do it to learn the language but to clear the exam, that is the main point of my whole story.

      @TheLoLBotPlays Před 7 lety +1

      That's insane! you rock xD

    • @BharatinGermany
      @BharatinGermany  Před 7 lety +9

      No! :D I'm really not so proud of it. This is something I had to do because I had no other choice. Ideally, I would have waited and spent time on every step of the language because that's how a language is supposed to be learnt. I don't like people who say they can became Master of a language in just 3 months because then, you have a bigger risk of missing the essence of the language. It's only after clearing the TestDaF and starting going to the University and reading more and more German material to improve my German, I found out how handicapped English language is. There are so many words which can't be correctly translated with the same feelings to English. If you have time and you want to learn the language deeply, go through it and read at as much as you can. If you don't and you think you can acquire all of that later on, you can run fast, catch up everything and try to get that beautiful feeling of actually relating the language to your everyday life later on. It depends completely on the short term goals that you set. :)
