    You hit the nail on the head when it comes Alfonso. Not a team player. This is not new. As they say " there is no I in team".
    CBC should be carrying all national game.

    • @ultimatesoccershow
      @ultimatesoccershow  Před rokem +1

      Absolutely CBC should carry all games...We pay our taxes...They get Millions from the government who work with our money. Alphonso needs to watch this game and see how he hindered the team. In qualifying it didn't matter if he played or not, as a team we didn't miss him.Crazy to think but the stats back it too. Pass & move Alphonso!!!!

    • @cephalopods
      @cephalopods Před rokem +2

      CBC hasn't carried a men's national team match since the 80s. CBC also doesn't show sports on weekdays ex Olympics. At best, it would be streamed on CBC Gem.

    • @cephalopods
      @cephalopods Před rokem +2

      @@ultimatesoccershow CBC funding is still too small to be buying sports rights beyond Olympic sports that the sports networks/streamers don't want. CBC has lost NHL, CFL, Raptors & TFC in the past generation because of lack of funds - unless you believe they should move funds allocated to news & entertainment to become more of a sports channel rather than a general network.

      I hear your points J and I feel too may sales have been lost through ignorance....
      It's a matter of National TV covering national sports on an international stage. That alone brings $'s from advertising muncho Dolares!
      There is the finance!!
      Keeping Soccer in the public eye is now a priority.
      For years, the CBC & other TV/radio stations have turned a blind eye on Soccer as it brought no money THEY THOUGHT!!!!
      I kept The Ultimate Soccer Show on TSN 1260 for years without a single tax dollar.
      I did it by gathering sponsors in the local market.
      the Ultimate Soccer Show on TSN never missed a payment and every competition was covered, MLS, Euro leagues, Champions league, Europe league, EURO"S 2004 - 2020, World Cups 2006 - 2018 & especially TEAM CANADA.
      IF I, one man can get sponsors and achieve the impossible by keeping Soccer on TSN then CBC & others have no excuse!
      WHY NO EXCUSE..........
      For years all TV/radio stations in Canada have turned their backs on Soccer as it didn't generate $$$$"s,
      I proved they are wrong above and I've made my money in the Canadian media talking Soccer for nearly 20 years professionally in Canada :).
      They need a Soccer education on the sales & marketing as they've never crossed the bridge I've crossed for decades.
      At first they, prospective sponsors laughed they didn't laugh when their ads were playing on TSN!
      If you want to achieve you need passion, I am passionate about Soccer which is my business place.
      Hope that helps J, I am passionate in talk, sales & the Canadian national team too, Cheers J have a great weekend thank you for the Great Comment Poet :)

    My take of the game… 4 players had a bad day at the office: Bojan, Davies, Larin and Hoilett. The rest of the team Had a very good game. It should have ended 1-1, but our strikers lost too many chances to poor ball reception or split-second hesitations. But overall, the team performed well. I am happy with what I saw.

    • @ultimatesoccershow
      @ultimatesoccershow  Před rokem

      Great analysis Luis, On The Money!!!!
      Bojan you heard what my thoughts were on Milan......
      Davies...Dribbling all the time????? You also heard my thoughts on Alphonso......
      Larin, I'd like to light a fire under his ass....Like wake up and anticipate where the play is going & stop hesitating with the final ball, shot etc...... hesitation up front was like a virus...eventually all the forwards blew great offensive opportunities due to hesitating
      Hoilett. is another who looked half asleep & he did not add much,
      Laryea 4/10 performance too many times he's walking, moaning and adding nothing in this game today. If I were JH he would not start v Belgium.
      Estaqiuo did not have a bad game but again he did not stamp his foot on this game as I had said I need to see more from him. I think we just found his ceiling which v Uruguay is not bad.
      We had opportunities to score but that RUTHLESS angle I asked for was invisible, we were wasteful in front of goal and it cost us as said it would with a 2-0 win for Uruguay.
      With a better start we would have got a result & I totally agree with your 1-1
      Cheers Luis, GO CANADA GO!!!!!!

    Two bad moments against a quality side I hope will be a learning experience, there was a bit of hogging happening but I truly enjoyed the 74 minute that I saw hahaha, I think we can build on this with Herdman at the helm. As for the delay it is the same with SN1 being given the game like 4 hours later, OneSoccer is doing what best for OneSoccer even if I missed the first 17 minutes LOL

    • @ultimatesoccershow
      @ultimatesoccershow  Před rokem

      This game must serve as a learning experience for everyone in the squad, even the tea lady LOL!
      We can draw positives from this match up & with a better start I feel we would have got a result.
      Losing is a good thing....................... It's a good kick up the arse to lose which may well propel the guys on in the next game v Japan. We lost with style but we need to be RUTHLESS in front of net.
      I agree we can build on this with John Herdman at the helm.
      The One Soccer delay on FUBO TV is easily bypassed. I put up a link after Mike from Ottawa's email. I saw everything all through but I can imagine a few didn't.
      Cheers Bruce a great test for us I'm a happy guy albeit watching Borjan in midfield!
      Goal keepers.. Are they from earth? LOL

    Losing with spirit, Bang on the money. Yes we lost, but the team never gave up, which is exactly what we need to do.
    Still need to work on those half chances we had. Against smaller teams those would have been half decent chances if not goals. Top quality teams though will nullify those all day, we need to clean them up!
    To your FUBO tv point, I remember trying to watch a national team match a few years ago (I can't remember which, possibly a women's match) but TSN was showing it on a 2 hour delay on TSN 4 when during the match TSN 2&3 were showing the same golf tournament.
    Not excusing the delay for FUBO, but at least we now have the option for actually watching the match live.

    • @ultimatesoccershow
      @ultimatesoccershow  Před rokem

      Losing with spirit.. Our men were a great example of never give up! I am proud of the performance and the work rate, IMPRESSIVE!
      We had so many half chances, had we taken just two we draw, we had enough to win on a better day in front of goal.
      FUBO tv point. I back One Soccer but as Mike pointed out in Ottawa, he paid for FUBO TV and the game was not aired live.
      Cheers Nathan Great Points!! GO CANADA GO!

    Fair assessment. All the Team Canada naysayers are saying 'see, told you they would get beat up', but yet these are the same naysayers who say 'oh you're lucky to draw in the U.S. and Mexico because look at the ball possession and stats'.... hmmm... one thing not mentioned is that Canada has to capitalize better on chances... they got the talent up front to do that, but they missed golden chances against Qatar, and they should have scored on at least one of their chances against Uruguay. They cannot afford to miss quality chances.

    • @ultimatesoccershow
      @ultimatesoccershow  Před rokem +1

      I Agree with every word written Seamus. I hope we keep on getting bad reviews from those who know nothing about this very good Canadian team, They'll wake up if we slay a big team at the world cup.
      But as you indicated, we need to be RUTHLESS in front of net. Great points my man!

    I think you are being fair with Borjan. He was awful today. That's a concern I didn't have yesterday. I'm looking down the bench if I'm Herdman. Seriously.

      Cheers Cuyler we see the same issues and I love your line.................That's a concern I didn't have yesterday. I would be looking at St Clair for the next game v Japan.
      JH cannot be loyal to any player he has to be loyal to the team.... Borjan cannot be a maverick in this team

    Uruguay has 2 shots on net and 0 corners, but 2 goals. Canada had 3 shots on net and 7 corners, no goals.

      Great points Eryn we were not RUTHLES in front of net as I said we needed to be in the pre game. To many hesitations and not enough "Just do it". Were we too respectful?
