Juju Valley: South Africa's informal settlement of EFF voters

  • Since 2016, hundreds of supporters of the hard-left Economic Freedom Fighters party live in an informal settlement in Polokwane known as Juju Valley. Named after the EFF leader Julius Malema, residents do not have to pay rent but have to get by with a relative lack of services. According to the EFF, the land was donated by a private owner, but the municipality disputes it this claim.

    It would be great to find donations that will fund the source of electricity like solar panels and if possible they could get licencing that allows them to get water from the rivers just like Orania is doing!
