This was a really fun bag to make!! Thank you so much for the tutorial :) I made mine in black and it turned out really great!
I have made two bags according to this tutorial now and it was so easy to follow along even as a beginner. I did make a small mistake with the first bag that I noticed a bit too late to fix. I have a mistake in the pattern on one side but it is not very noticeable fortunately, so I am still happy with the result. For the second bag I made, I only really needed the length info from the tutorial, the rest I remembered how to do from having done it once before, and the bag turned out perfect! Thank you so much for making this easy to understand tutorial, I really came to enjoy macrame a lot thanks to this and I will definitely check out more of your tutorials (and probably make this bag again in five other colors because it's just so cute)!!

Loved your tutorial for making this shoulder bag.
The only problem is that my cords were to short to finish the bottom of the bag. It was not a problem for me as I could add cord for the Xtra length I needed but for someone that does not understand on how to add extra cord, it would be a problem.
I also used the same cord as you and made tight knots but still came up short.
Anycase, love your tutorials ❤ and busy making another one of your bags for my sister's birthday.

I think it wouldn't be necessary to add more cords as long as you are using 5mm 😄

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes you can use 3mm twisted cord but it will turn out smaller if you use the same measurement. I suggest to add more cords to the body and increase length of each cord slightly as well and do more rows of square knots for the body as well.
What’s the measure of the body bag and strap?
At 10:38, when it says “continue with square knots”, which strings do you start with?? I’m stuck at this part.
Hi Lisa, it doesn't matter where you start the first square knot because you are doing square knots all around from that point. Let me know if that makes sense😄

Yes it's okay to use different type of cord but you are going to have a different final look😄

Hi Aynna,
Yes, it's okay to use 3mm or 4mm cord but the final size of the bag will be smaller than mine. I recommend adding 4 or 8 extra cords to the body of the bag and do 4 more rows of square knots if you are using 3 or 4 mm cord. I hope this helps 😁
I don't have enough thread for 9 cord on each side .....is it ok to take 8 cord on each side making it 34 cords in total at both side??

When you measure the 38 inches, are you only measuring the 7 ft cords?
i meant to say 34 inches.
After I was done with the handle, the 7 ft. ones were 34 inches, but the two 14 inches were much longer on the one side..

If you have 34inches or longer left on both sides after making a strap, that's great. You will have enough length to finish the body :)
