there are a lot of top tier melee link players that I just didnt feel fully understood Links best attributes. You play link at the peak of my understanding for the character. I genuinely think the character has untapped potential, with every top player its a question of consistence compared to others. You may not respond, but to any L ink players, what holds you back? My fav matchup as link are the space animals, what do you think holds the char back? Sure melee has slect problems like any game, but I feel the best players only ever try the best chars and the potential in chars like Link are unrealized.
his frame data sucks nice hitboxes though tons of startup on most moves, slow out of shield, terrible combo weight, dies to top tiers that hold w, also dies to fast top tiers that camp. gotta basically have a touch of death because you will get maybe 1 neutral win for every top tier's 3-4
It honestly sucks how Link, one of the main protagonists of one of the greatest Nintendo series of all time, pretty much gets shafted literally every Smash game. You'd think he'd be at least a high tier in some games, but he isn't. The closest he's ever gotten is in Ultimate, where he's considered mid to high tier, ranked in the top 20-25ish characters out of a 80 character roster. Not bad, but then you consider every other game he's ranked terribly, especially in 64 and Brawl (2nd worst character in 64, 4th worst in Brawl). Course, it's kinda hard to say that when there's technically 3 of them in Ultimate.

I try playing Melee but it feels like the game doesn't do what u tell it to a lot of the time for me. Love the vid tho. I main Link.
