Houston's own Cory Redding dominated on the football field and beyond. At Galena Park North Shore High School, he earned USA Today's Defensive Player of the Year and consensus All-American honors in his senior year. Redding's athletic prowess extended to track and field, where he won back-to-back Class 5A titles in discus.
At the University of Texas, Redding shone as an All-American defensive end from 1999 to 2002, racking up 57 tackles for loss-the fourth highest in school history. His NFL career spanned over a decade, playing for multiple teams and solidifying his reputation as a defensive powerhouse.
