I saw it in Indiana, it was without a doubt the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!

Drove from Columbus to Cleveland for this day. Was only 2 1/2 hour drive but made it by noon, then by 2pm, starting seeing the partial phase make its way onto the sun, then at 3:13pm, totality and its beauty for 4 minutes. Fkn worth it! First time experience and already want another!

Dude, same! I lived in Portland in 2017 and saw over 99% totality thinking "that would be good enough!" I always regretted it, so this one I flew to Cleveland to see it.

It’s ridiculous how much of a difference 1% makes. I live in Cincinnati and my home was at 99.5%. But I still drove 4 hours north because that wasn’t good enough.

I saw the 2017 one in totality in Hopkinsville Kentucky, and this one closer to home in Hamilton, OH and those two instances are the coolest things I've ever seen. Nothing else is even close. The moment the diamond ring faded into totality is just the most beautiful thing, and I don't think any picture will ever really capture it. The sharpness of the brightness differences is more than any screen can imitate. Most regular cameras have trouble autofocusing on totality. The white ring tends to over expose and change in size. It's annoying, but I've just come to accept that there's a mile of difference between a picture and seeing the real thing. The emotional effect was the same both times. The words awe and awesome seem really overused once you see something that really does fit the intended meaning. - If it's any consolation for 2017, I spent 11 hours in a traffic jam after that one, which was hands down one of the worst experiences in my life, and I know a lot of other people had it just as bad. This time I could've gone to places in Indiana to see maximum totality, but they were small towns, and I figured they'd have the same traffic issues. So I settled for about two minutes in Hamilton, and this time it wasn't bad at all.

It’s hard to explain how special totality is. I need to get my camera skills up so maybe I can capture it next time. Me and my family are already planning a trip to Spain.

It's too bad Kings Island was just outside the path of totality. A ride on Beast during totality would've been mind-blowing.

My house is really close to KI and it was also just outside of totality. It’s really totality or bust. But riding anything, especially the Beast during the eclipse would have been incredible.

@@Parkproductions1991 I live in Miamisburg, and we were just inside the path of totality. And yes, it's 100% coverage or bust. Even 99.999% coverage is not enough to produce the full effect of totality. That little .001% of the sun that is uncovered is still producing too much light for the effect of totality.
