Maureen’s crisp street is better than Eastenders 100%

Different league better ingredients (Joe Cooke)
The best used to be Cooke’s in Broadway market round the corner(Fred Cooke) but closed down a few years ago
They are brothers and grandfather invented pie and mash
The son has opened one in bishops stortford but i haven’t been there yet but must be good as recipe handed down

Went there last week. Ain’t been for years and it was good but iv had better. BJs Canning Town is lovely. I’m an east ender so to say this I could get ironed out.. but Manzes tower bridge was avin it 😉
You gotta try maureens when your in chrisp street its the one. I also recomend you try greenwich pie mash goddards that is top aswell

Best pie and mash for me is either hoxton market f cooke or roman road market at Maureen's
I love the fact that you have the same amount of enthusiasm for cafe and takeaway establishments as the higher end restaurant content. Its clear you simply have a love for for that tastes great, wether it costs you 2 quid or a hundred pounds! Keep up the great content.x

Arments the best pie and mash in my opinion because im not a fan of the wetter pies that just dilute the liquor when you cut them open. Manze second.
That's not a traditional shop I'd score it a 4, no way you use a scoop to dollop the mash it should spread around the plate with a spatula so you get in on your fingers when you pick the plate up ;) Nor would any traditional shop serve deserts,, not that I'm knocking a crumble w custard for afters.
The best pie n mash "WAS" Harringtons Tooting but it changed hands some yrs back. Originally you could choose your eel slithering in a butler sink just inside the counter then it was chopped up n stewed to order lol... Pie n mash needs eel to make it proper, either jellied or stewed plus they had better pies using lamb not beef mince!!.
7.7. That's a dreadful score. 9 from me all day long.
Just cz its a place in the eastend with a British flag and school benches doesn't mean the pie & mash is gno be good.

Manze's is best pie and mash by far
Filling food from industrial era. Shouldnt look good. Nothing pretentious about it. Serves its purpose. Leaving the meal feeling full, warm and …. bloated? 😂 cheers. Looks tasty!
