Lisa, thanks! It amuses my family to remember my humble start - at the kitchen table with frogs in a tank! I love medical technology, have spent my whole life immersed in some aspect of it, and am always looking for new ways to advance the field.
This is awesome. Thank you for building a better future.
Great introduction to the Vagus Nerve! I use Vagus Nerve Stimulation techniques myself and with many of my clients to great effect in improving wellbeing, decision-making and resilience!
I really enjoyed this video!! You are doing the right thing. I hope that medical technology can one day be more easily accessible for those in great need.
PSS: regarding the comments below mine, this talk is not about a product, though it does use a medical treatment as a catalyst to describe what the talk IS about. The talk is about redesigning an area in medicine to ensure the people who need such effective treatments will be able to access such hugely impacting/life changing it without risk that the product (such as in the example used by the speaker) may vanish from the market due to any number of reasons other than efficacy.
Wow - typo much. Edited: There's no such thing as a geek when talking about the excitement of a young, smart person with the passion to commit and the determination and focus to follow through. The world at large may take such commendable attributes for granted, but please know at least one woman in LA admires, appreciates and is so grateful for the qualities some research/academic scientists may call "geeky" about their youth. I celebrate you :)
There's nothing even kind of geeky about being a free thinking and feeling youth who is intelligent and passionate and people don't often express their appreciate the discoveries made possible by intelligence, curiosity and passion.
Because intelligence is overrated. It's not what you know. What do you actually do with what you know. Most do less than they know.
Everybody now presents like Steve Jobs.
this talk lacks purpose. first TEDtalk that i can call time waste
I guess youre just not ready to have this conversation yet. Thats all.
I cant imagine regaining capability, spontaneity and freedom, only to have it taken away because its not a profitable enterprise. We can make weapons and killing people a profitable enterprise, but we cant make healthcare work? Clearly this is an issue of what we prioritize as a society. Thank you for trying to shed light on this.
