- Approach and Landing phase for ILS runway 24 in Shannon
Flying an Airbus A321-200 from Athens Eleftherios Venizelos airport, Greece (ATH-LGAV) to Shannon airport, Ireland (SNN-EINN) as Ferry Flight (with no passengers on board). The uniform is not compulsory for this kind of flight.
I can tell how smooth that landing was
Lovely video mate, Shannon Airport is indeed a beautiful place, my home airport. Would love to hop into the jumpseat one day and admire the views.
:D
Thanks dude, appreciate the positive touch of your comment! I wish you to be in one of the cockpit seat one day!
I was in Shannon couple of times. Nice place. Working at IAA. I stayed at Oak Wood Arms. Great food and beer
Beautifully stable approach
Thank you, we had nice weather over there which was quit unusual for Ireland x)
incredible
Nice landing.
Thanks mate
Nice one! 😉
Thanks men ;)
Love the airbus great landing
Thanks mate!
Wish I could fly an Airbus ✈️
Butter land!!!
👍
Excellent landing! Can you tell me what is F-Pln Discontinuity on the Airbus and is this a problem that should be cleared or not?
Sometimes it’s required, when it’s not you just delete it but first you have to confirm that proper route is set!
I read a debate about keeping your heels on the ground and toes on the petal Vs. full foot on the petals. In your experience, what do commercial airlines generally require?
My guess is that because of how advanced the commercial aircrafts are, the autobrake (rather in rejected take off or landing) would come on immediately, thus, no need to keep the foot on the entire petal. In the contrary, in a less technology advanced aircraft, keeping foot on the petal may be beneficial in case of emergency braking... Is this correct?
I suppose it is better to keep your feet up on the pedals you might need to brake manually if the auto brake fails
NICE APPROACH :d but how could you recort the thrust while touchdown :D ???
Already said sorry for that I was not the one in charge of recording the video x)
@@richardngo2015 Oui
Is it Flaps full landing? which yoke you think is better is it the airbus 🕹️ joystick or the boeing's yoke?
Flaps Full landing indeed. I never flown boeing yet but one thing is for sure, it's easier to fly with a wire connected joystick ;)
*sidestick

where is the uniform ....nice video
i'd read the description ;)
The uniform was not compulsory to perform this specific flight (ferry flight).
Basically the goal is to carry an aircraft with no passenger, most of the time due to maintenance purposes ;)
@@MikeCharlieYankee Hello .. I know ,and read the description box, I have loved the world of aviation since my childhood and it was my dream to become a pilot, but this did not happen, And currently I fly by flight simulators on the computer, and every pilot in this world is an ambassador for me and for those like me in the sky and around the world ... God bless you and happy New Year for you and all the pilots around the world :)
So those two panels right in front of you. They're what you spend most of your time looking at when flying? The one on the left is a compass (more or less) and the one on the right tells you how level the plane is?
Yea indeed! Actually with the one the right we are actively monitoring the flight path of the aircraft, speed, altitude, vertical speed ect it's called PFD (Primary Flight Display), and the one on the left is showing the position of the aircraft and where we are heading to along with many other functions it's called the ND (Navigation Display).
Thanks for watching.
@@MikeCharlieYankee thank you for this video good sir. have you ever flown into dublin? butter landing also.
@@dublinairportplanes Yea I did, quite interesting approach with low visibility!
Just curious, you initially selected Auto brakes low then deactivated them and landing without any auto brake, why? Nice landing
The reason is that at the early stage of the approach we were asked to vacate the runway with the first available exit and finally few minutes before landing, they requested us to roll up to the end of the runway (for traffic purposes), so at this point the use of the autobrake was pointless as the aircraft will decrease his speed by itself without applying brakes.
@@MikeCharlieYankee that would do it, thanks for the reply.
@acerii Couldn't say better!

Would you consider flying the a330?
In the future why not!
But honestly not really looking forward to fly long haul!
@@MikeCharlieYankee sorry for late reply but I don’t blame you long haul can be really boring and you should upload more i really enjoy watching you’re videos
Which airline is this
Cabin Crew advised :D
Yea but nobody heard us ahaha
Hi,
Can you please answer one question.
Does height matter for airline job ?
I am 5’2. I am having insecurity for this. I do have to do job for survival after flying school.
Hi, don't think it's gonna be an issue, mostly height is starting to become a problem when you too tall, keep up the good work ;)
@@MikeCharlieYankee Thankyou so much for replying and obviously, answer boosts me ! Sometime people (not related to aviation) around me used to say you are so small to fly an airplane. I really wanted to reply that does not matter how big n strong someone is they can’t fly by himself or herself only. We need engines for that.
But I never reply them back.
These type of comments left me with very low self esteem.
Once again, thank you so much.
@@gurpreetdhillon1712 A pleasure, don't let anyone teach you what you have to become or what you have to do with your life, it's a world full of possibilities! Good luck!

let me guess you have relized you forgot the passengers jokes lol
Something like that ahah
What airline
Do all pilots fear that a bird strike would occur during the approach without proper visibility?
If there is one thing we are trying to, but we can't predict, it's gonna be Bird strike. It could happen any time in mid altitude, but most likely birds are not flying into low visibility. So to answer your question, it's something we dread but we do have specific procedures to mitigate the threat in case that happens. First thing remain calm, follow procedure, land back the airplane and assess the damage.
It’s not normally a problem. My FOs windscreen hit an owl on approach to Helsinki. He was flying and it obliterated his view, awful mess, he just said, “you have control” and I took over and landed. Not a problem. We even helped the engineer clean the mess. Horrible.
This aircraft is empty or not?
Yes, we were flying without any passengers (ferry flight)
Your seating position seems very very low to me...
That's the way I fly the bus :)
How comes the checkered shirt?
The uniform was not compulsory to perform this specific flight (ferry flight).

Great landing! Was this a ferry into storage?
Thanks!
Actually we brought this aircraft to maintenance for C-Check!
Auto break :low, med ???🤔🤔🤔
No autobrake finally we had to backtrack at the end of the runway...
