with soviet tanks, most people don't usually turn without first moving forward for a bit then braking on one track to use the momentum to turn faster. It actually keeps up the traverse rate if you first convert your forward momentum into the turn.

You can decrease your turn around time by shifting into 2nd or 3rd gear with Cruise Control. Goes down from 30 seconds to like 5 seconds.

nah gaijin just doesnt model them properly, irl they used a later version of the hl230 which had reduced rpm and power in order to solve some of the issues with reliability, its pretty much the engine on later panthers like the panther F. Also, gaijin doesn't really model in the traction of both tanks properly, whereas the tiger had better traction on muddy terrain, the is2 has better traction on icy roads and winter terrain.

If Tiger shot that IS anywhere else in the ufp, other than black hole drivers optics, it's fuel would go boom.
I like to bring my t 34 - 57 and 85 to 7.0 because I feel very easy to pen lepords than tigers and panthers.
BT 5 is very useful to achieve god mode achievement.
If you could goto a good position you can easily pen any tank in br 7 from sides.
Honestly the only reason I have T 44 100 and BT5 in the same lineup is so I can get God with BT and have money to repair anything else. Sometimes will do a full match in BT alone.

@@burneracc2567 I use t44-100, t34- 85, 57, and bt5, I rarely use t44 (85) besause of its high repair cost. Yak 7b is also useful to get a kill or two. It is the only low tier fighter that has access to rockets.with low repair cost.

Is-2 wasn’t really meant to engage tanks it was for breaking through hardened defensive lines, while platoons of agile medium tanks such as the T-34/85 would exploit the hole in the defensive line and wreak havoc with their agility and firepower combination. The Tiger 2 would generally have the advantage in one on one engagements irl not because it was a superior piece of equipment but because it was almost always used in a defensive role which gives a massive edge to any military force, but if we’re are talking about which vehicle fulfilled is design role better it’s hands down the IS-2.

Meh, both are practically equal, but the IS2 is a lot lower profile, and the Tiger 2 has a decent reload. The IS2 is also faster overall. Not by much in forward and turn speed, but still

IS-2 still has a big flaw of it's predecessors and frontally can be 80% of times one hit killed by all German tanks it meet... LFP to either left or right of the driver. At over 800m Tiger II will win this duel easily, closer and first shot wins.
I wasn't surprised about the tug of war result. After all, the King Tiger IS actually much heavier than the IS-2.

@@combatantezoteric2965 I really dont see how the S Pershing is much better than IS2 besides gun depression. Long 88 can lol pen its hull and turret face, it cant pen the hull of the IS2. It also fires really slowly, its slower than IS2.

IS-2 would be amazing if not for the reload taking an eternity

I think IS2 better if the player can hulldown, because IS2 have weak spot in front bottom armor and IS 2 has small cheeks than Tiger 2 (P). But Tiger 2 have more firepower and medium reload time
IS-2 1944 has shitty optics without any zoom, even 5.7 IS-2 has more zoom which helps for long range combat

@@combatantezoteric2965 in synthetic comparaison like this the Tiger II seems better, but on the battlefield the IS-2 is just a "smarter" design, like the hull turn rate, when you're in neutral and want to steer, the IS-2 loose, when actually in battle you want to accelerate a bit and then turn and when you do that you turn your hull way faster than the tiger II. Things that hurt tho on the IS-2 is ots shitty reload, shitty gun dep and meh turret armor
Edit: what I mean is that in battle the IS-2 perform way better than in synthetic comparaison like this. Require more braincells than playing a Tiger II tho

irl the IS2 would most likely win as it would actually arrive in the field and not sink, have a transmission breakdown, or gearbox breakdown. The tiger 2s are horribly designed, also the armor on the tiger 2s was only 70% effective due to how low of a quality the metals were.
@@adibar9066 the metals weren't really low quality, the germans just lost a molybdenum mine and lost one of the most important materials they used to harden the steel. The metal itself was a high "quality" - as in lack of impurities - but the materials they had to use for hardening were a significant amount less reliable and it led to the brittle armour characteristic of late war German tanks.

Так вся грустная история эволюции немецких танков это путь превращения из нормальных танков в переутяжеленные пт установки. Если бы наши пошли по такому пути то в конце нам нечем бы было брать те же потсдамы и прочие фестунги включая берлин. А у немцев уже после второй половины войны такой задачи не стояло, так что в играх всякий немецкий бумажный конструктив выгоднее смотрится просто благодаря заточенности под пт требования и нет никаких требований под вес мостов, габариты тоннелей, расход топлива итд итп. Поэтому удел немецких танков это рассказы про то как "мой дед на пантере подбил 2-10-50 советских танков", а на моей доле как мой друг моего деда в экипаже Т-34-85 расстреливал по пять бк в день под Веной.

It depends really if you wiggle your turret in the tiger ll it abuses game physics and it makes it really easy for someone to fuck up their shot on your turret I use this a lot it works like a charm

Well i know that's only a game, but the IS-2 engine has way more torque than the Tiger ll's engine irl, idk why almost every single german tank in the game is way more mobile than it should be, meanwhile they nerfed some sherman's and the M6 engine while the germans can stay with their 700hp engine instead of their real 600hp...

Never understood the point in tiger 2. I mean yeah, the front plate and gun is good and all , but what about the side armor? Theoretically it could be penned by sherman's 75mm. And the weight is 65 tonnes, Jesus Christ that's a lot...
Meanwhile is-2 weights 42 tonnes and can offer similar decree of protection with stronger sides, better mobility and more than comparable gun

The soviets had better heavy tanks I think due to most being low profile and having used less resources to make them
