Fun fact:
Both Hakaider and Kikaider are Tokusatsu created by Shotaro Ishinomori, who is also best known as the creator of Cyborg 009, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai AKA Power Rangers.

Had to jump over to Wikipedia to learn the plot. Anti hero super soldier android vs Theocracy dictatorship.
Tokusatsu can get pretty dark, can't it?

Even darker is that Kikaider, the hero of the original Shotaro Ishinomori tokusatsu show and manga that this game and its movie are based on, is an agent of said dictatorship in the movie, so the roles of good and evil in this world are reversed. Kikaider fans were naturally upset after seeing their childhood hero get disgraced in such a way.

What an opening cutscene! 😅 The best moment is when the guy shoots a lamp on top of an enemy vehicle, causing the entire squad to be wiped out. 😂
