    I love pelmeni, but making them by hand is so tedious on my own that I rarely make them... I just ordered a mold like yours, I think pelmeni will be on the menu more often!
    Sure, the shops have frozen 'dumplings' but they never, ever, ever taste as good as homemade.

    I have the press, and I take the left over dough and make some by hand. JeffMara has it right about freezing them!! you want to keep them as separate as possible in the plastic. lol

    Who else has had pelmeni in Juneau Alaska? With butter, Sriracha, parsley, sour cream, and a slice of rye bread?

    Hi, Where did you buy your pelmenitsa, the size of the holes and the amount of meat they are able to fit seems to be much larger than all of the ones for sale on Amazon. I'm having a hard time finding one this size, please help.

    It’s 15 min boiling not too long? Othet recipies says 3-4 min after they start floating

    Great video. Thanks for making it. I never made or tried this, but I love trying new foods. I want to make these for sure. Please help me with tjese 2 questions.
    1) Are 15 mins in boiling water enough time for the meat to be fully cooked?
    2) how do you cook the frozen ones? Do I have to thaw prior or not. What is the process please and thanks in advance for your time and efforts!

      Hi, yes 15 minutes is enough time to be fully cooked. The frozen ones you do not thaw out. Bring the water to boil and add the frozen ones in the pot then boil them for 15 minutes or until the pelmenies float on top of the water.

    Wow, that's a great way to make pelmeni! But I have some questions, like where can people get such cooking mould and is there some special way to stick dough corners harder together, or do they do this naturally? Also, is it hard to follow the mould's pattern?

    • @anyany19
      @anyany19 Před 5 lety +4

      Ижик Пыжик you can get it from amazon. You can search “russian dumpling mold”. They retail for 10$. When you fill the spots with meat and cover it with the second layer of dough, you need to go over it with a rolling pin with some strength and that’s enough for the corners to stick together. Following the pattern isn’t hard at all. I enjoy the process of making dumplings a lot just because for the mould it’s so much fun :))))
