Next time melt butter it mixes better. Or leave butter out at room temperature for at least 30 min to an hour when baking and using unless it calls for cold butter. Looks delicious. So you smoke bake loving father and husband. Excellent. God bless your family.

Does the icing harden up on the cake like pralines? My mom always said she messed up with the icing whenever it would turn out hard, but that's how we liked it best.

Damn that cake looks Fiyah!!! I may need to make one in a pound cake with that topping. Have u tried using Pure Vanilla? If not, it makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE and u will not only smell the difference, u will taste the difference. Now u got me wanting cake.
