Henry Cejudo said that Justin needs to be more of a competitor and not just a fighter, and I think that this fight reflected that approach perfectly.
It takes two to tango
24-4
19 KO’s
11 Bonuses
Every one of his opponents was in the Top Ten.
Justin Gaethje is a Hall of Fame fighter and person.
2x choked out in title fight. 1 win in top 5 chandler (shouldn’t even be ranked that high) that’s it
how many title fights you had? stfu
Only losses in UFC were to fighters that were UFC champions at some point. 1 of which had an undefeated record. Crazy.
Gatekeeper
@@beaualoevv except for the fact that Justin beat Michael Johnson when he was ranked #5, Donald Cerrone when he was #4, Tony Ferguson when he was #1, and then Chandler, lol.
I really wanted Justin and Dustin to fight for a belt in the rematch but probably not gonna happen any time soon but it being 5 rounds is a must imo 3 rounds will fly by for these too
the 5 round rule needs to be only for championship/interim bouts.
If this fight is 3 rounds it will be a tragedy
@@BrutalInsights I disagree main events should be 5 rounds no matter what and co mains of ppv with only 1 title fight should be 5 rounds if both fighters want it as such
It should be for the belt
@@BrutalInsights please never ever say that again, no one agrees with you
Age-wise, Gaethje is like a kid to me, but, I can't help suffering a little bit of Hero Worship. Not only is he one of the best to ever do it, he seems like a genuinely good lad. His assessment of how many fights he's got left in him demonstrates extraordinary intelligence, and maturity, I just hope he gets the gold he deserves before the end.
Very intelligent dude indeed oh, it's been fun seeing him mature and progress.
So intelligent he called Oliveira a quitter then got tapped out in the first round😂
Oliveira? That chap who tapped in R2, 5 months later? Not sure how that's relevant, but enjoy the fights. 👍
@@savaloy666999 what does that have to do with anything? He didn’t call Islam a quitter, so that’s a dumb comparison. Also, tag me in your comment next time. Don’t be scared tough guy😂
@@zackhicks5320 You kids and your fancy computer knowledge! Enjoy the fights! 👍
He's earned the Poirier runback IMO. Everyone wants it, just book it already!
For sure
5 Rounds though
We want 5 rounds tho
i mean sure why fighting the new young more talented guys when you can match the older farts who never got the belt after 2 o attempts and make them fight yet again.
I think it'll be an awesome fight, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I'd like to see new fights, all these rematches are getting old for me.
@@langtryvlogme I’m done seeing the vets fighting the same guys every time then get a shot make him fight an up and comer again then he gets a shot he’s not beating gamrot or turner neither is Dustin that’s my problem
Justin always delivers a Fight, win or lose ...
What about khabib and Charles fight..how much he delivered in those fights?
@@danapink361 they were both fun fights you nerd lol what kind of a comeback was that 😂 he’s saying he’s always fun to watch
@@danapink361he knocked Charles down and fought pretty dumb. And Khabib had to eat hard punches and leg kicks. A few more leg kicks and the fight could have ended in another story
@@richman8082 could’ve , should’ve cry about it. just IN 🚨🚨 Gaycheese
dustin vs justin and the winner gets makhachev and either of one of them gets choked out for the 3rd time in a title fight lol
chael made a reference to this one time the kids who play catch but only play with each other.
Nailed it. They both get choked out in title fights and this next time will be no different
Dariush could have gotten a title shot already but he is too stupid with the post fight interviews and is too quiet. Anyway, new contenders need to get title shots that actually know some grappling when it also comes to jiu jitsu.
😂😂😂😂😂
Nah Leon exposed wrestling, attack one hand no matter what on attempts and cheat when need be to keep standing
Im a simple man. I see Brett Okamoto, I exit the video
This guy is living proof that you can be tough as a coffin nail and also be a fantastically cool person. I don't understand how him and DP arent mega stars beyond conor. I hope the ufc sets up the rematch with DP as a main even ppv, and pays them points and everything else the deserve.
The reason why is because they have the appeal of a moldy sweaty sock and the personality to match. Conor has charisma
It all comes down to media, these guys don't stay in the headlines, there's no such thing as bad publicity, you gitta stay on people's mind, everyone thinks What Is Conno Doing?, after Justij fights you forget about him for like 5 months
I don't even like conor and he's much more charismatic then dp and Justin and dp is my favourite fighter
Awesome interview Brett! Thx Legend Justin Gaethje you’re one of a kind.
Good questions asked by Brett I’m impressed.
The greatest win in geathje's career was dethroning tony ferguson in an upset and ruining khabib vs tony for good.
But his second most important I think is the fiziev fight (especially if fiziev goes on to become a great historic 155). Because geathje fought a lot of fighters from his own generation and the previous one (which mean old), but fiziev a phenomenal talent from the new era, young in his prime and on a massive wining streak.
And to school him like that is one of the biggest validation of geathje's skills. You can't say geathje won because his opponent was too old, geathje won because his skills are great.
And you can't say anymore that the new generation is better that they gonna just run through the old guard either because if they can't beat (geathje, beniel, Islam, poirier ) when they got the advantage of youth on their side than, if it was prime vs prime they never had a chance.
Agreed. It seems to be recency bias to say Fiz was a bigger win than Tony Ferguson
In MMA though even if older guys (around mid 30's) slow down a bit they often build enough skill/experience to compensate for that.
Brett and Justin have a pretty cool relationship.
Justin seems to be more relaxed and open around him and can tell Brett genuinely cares about Gaethje, as a friend
Yes for sure! His answers are way more detailed with him and DC, with other interviewers it’s kinda short repetitive answers and he almost seems annoyed lol
They play golf togather
@@katana_3558 yeah did you watch the vlog dc did with them and Brett? It was funny lol
Justin absolutely crushed Dustin’s legs. Unreal Dustin was able to keep going and get the W
That fight commentary always bugged me. Justin destroyed Dustin’s leg but he was getting pieced up on the feet and they never acknowledged it. Great fight though.
Dustin landed 86 more head strikes.
Dustin was about to break in the 1st fight
Dustin a dawg
@@Th3Chuzzl3r maybe break his hand on justins face lol. the leg kicks were pretty damaging for sure, but justin was mainly getting pieced up lol. competitive for sure but i think dustin outlanded him literally close to 100 on headshots
Every Justin fight should be mandatory 5 rounds. No matter what. Pay the man.
Why? He's never made it too a 5th round...
Great interview 🙏
I have never wanted to see a rematch so bad! 😩 book it!!!! 🔥
I see you everywhere 😂
@@davidortega9231 I know all I watch is mma content 😩😂
Olivera putting that work to Poiriers body was huge in that fight. You could see the effects
You mean grabbing and holding Dustin's glove to go from getting dominated on the bottom to holding Dustin's glove to reverse the whole fight is what really happened if you know what you watching. The most underrated glove hold foul ever.
@@C3ZZY123z wahhhhhhhhhhhh
Cardboard Okamato showing up to drag another great interview slot into the mud. Love it.
JUSTIN!!!!!! MY man!!! Out here in Phoenix!!!! Love ya' brother! ALWAYS!!!!!
If he keeps fighting smart as he did with Rafael and Chandler, then he can TKO Dustin.
I’m still so stunned how he ended the fight without any markings. I will rewatch so many times lol 😂
Two most entertaining fighters. Run it back please
3 fights into Gathje debut he fought Porier.. "The Highlight" has improved since then as Porier has improved but, if Gathje uses heavy wrestling and kicks I think this time around Gathje beats
"The Diamond"
one of Brett’s better interviews imo
Man I don’t want see another loss either one of them I love them both 😢
Literally I hate how only one guy can win it’s so sad hahahaha
Calm and calculated Justin is dangerous
Love this guy. What a pro.
JUstin the savage you are a legend thank yew!
I really love Justin... he is so cool and very intelligent... love everything about him...
I'm sure he'd love to hear that, I think even though he hides it, it hurts him a little when people think he's dumb.
YES.
One more win and he’s earned another title shot. Delivers for the fans and the UFC every time
If he beats poirier which he def can he would def deserve one more shot
Brett is my favorite interviewer. He facilitates such an excellent and natural conversation. Beyond the same typical cliche questions. Well done! And obviously Gaethje is the man. Colorado stand UP!!!
Great interviewer
A great worior or even general knows when to strategically retreat with their honor intact . I am glad geathje know he ain't gonna stay in the game for much longer. Hopefully keeps his words and does it.
We all know mcgregor turned down Justin’s ultimate fighter contract
I hope to watch you fight live... but hope I won't go crazy seeing my Justin
He’s understatedly cerebral
That last fight was one of the best of his career, if he could mix wrestling which he’s got a bit more he could dominate even more
why does everyone call him "Hafael Fiziev" he is not Brazilian.....
I know 🤣 it's definitely due to RDA, people are used to saying his name
Habits.
Alex Pehera
lets go new Gaethje interview just dropped
Dustin is a fantastic striker he hits straight shots down the pipe gaethje throws hooks with just as much power love both and wish both could win
Smartness and intellact together.
Okamoto, his name isn’t “hafael” he’s not even Brazilian dude
I'm a big fan of that guy after watching his last fight.
Gaethje is the best! Favorite fighter hands down!
There’s only one thing Moore I like to see than gajthe vs Poirer 2 is Seein Dustin box the face off Chandler again.
I want them to run it back forsure. He’s earned redemption against poirer. Let alone first one they had was one of the best ufc fights ever.
I'm all about my sigs as well justin
I love this dude
When Justin said best performance he had I literally thought yeah same thing with the Tony Ferguson fight and then he says it right afterwards same page
I love him and Poirier so I would hate to watch them fight but it would be a sick fight…
Everybody Bustin' over Justin vs Dustin
Brett: it's been a couple weeks since the fight
Brett the fight was 11 days ago
I remember when Dustin was my favorite fighter in the LW division for the longest time I swear. But since he’s been inactive I’ve really come to appreciate gaethje and honestly it’s gonna be a hard fight to watch cuz I’m not sure who I want to win lol. I guess Justin cuz he’s from my home town
Dustin and justin are almost equal active
Not a Brett interview😭😭😭😭😭😭
Lmao
Dustin hits more straight fwd punches, gaethje has more round punches, if they both adjust appropriately things can go anywhere, they are both top notch, but I'm leaning with gaethje, but ty both, dana woman beater really needs to double their pay.
Justin Gaethje Vs Dustin 2 will be amazing 🙌👏👏👏👏
My man got that Sig Sauer Sponsorship?
I wanna see Justin Gaethje vs Paddy Pimblett 😂😆
I find him to be a fascinating fighter and competitor. All these guys are unique, but for me he's really unique.
And athlete - and entertainer, he's a unique performer with a specific type of entertainment (that's totally him).
i wanna see the rematch but it does not need to be a title eliminator man
Justin the man 👊🏼 absolute killer
Believe
Only thing I hate about Justin vs. Dustin is I like 'em both.
Id like to see Justin win since Dustin already has a W over him
This should be a interim title fight winner becomes first 2 time interim champ still something to brag about and these two warriors deserve some recognition this is a special matchup
“I gave these new guys a chance and he proved they can’t crack it”
That was low key a baller thing to say lol
Except Fiziev is the only "new" guy he's fought.
@I'll be damned if I ain't handsome wow you're thick. Look at the dudes record. What new guys has he fought? Fiziev is literally the only one. It was a banger for sure but he can't say he gave new guys, as in plural, chances when he fought ONE up and comer
He's in a tough spot being managed by the same manager as Machachev.. It'll all come out one day. He's 100% being held back and it's not from the Company.
I wanna see Justin vs Dustin 2 !
I like 5 for the domination.
Rematch is a win for both and for the fans!!! Easy Fight of the night ! possible fight of the year! Give us this well needed rematch
gaethe said he was offered TUF and said yes but one of either conor or chandler said no....we all know it was conor lol
Neither one of them want any part of Justin lol. Justin hurts you.
Yea i think it was when he said the condition hes coming back in wasn’t favorable for him…. Im thinking it was the leg kicks justin will deliver wouldnt be good for connor
For sure it was Conor 😂

@@corvofalcone7489 lol that same joke gets so old 🙄
I respect Gaethje so much for asking a rematch with Poirier rather than just directly crying for a title shot.
I lost count, but this is probably now the 5th or 6th interview where his dislike for Chandler becomes more and more evident.
Literally in the same field of disgust as Connor.
You can tell by how he responded to "Those two clowns"
😆
But anyways, a rematch with Dustin would be quite intense.
I mean if you think about it. He deserves the paycheque with Conor way more than chandler does. The saltiness is warranted imo
I think both Poirier and Gaethje sort of realise that Chandler is a really fake person.
@@1994mrmysteryman how’s he fake tho, genuinely asking
@@kolbyhumbert2680 His overall behaviour seems very fake. He talks like a politician. And when he's pushed against the wall, he's perfectly happy to blatantly cheat his way out of there. And pretend like it was all accidental.
He also seems full of steroids.
Also his whole thing about adopting black kids just screams virtue signalling. Did they run out of orphaned white kids in America? He's specifically going out of his way to adopt kids of a specific race which is the weirdest thing I've ever seen, especially if it's not your own race.
Speaking as a dark skinned guy from the middleeast btw. Just in case you accuse me of being a white supremacist.
@@kolbyhumbert2680 he's a cheater and a lier,he said he only landed one back to the head strike vs Dustin while he landed 10+,he also criticizes other people getting title shots while he is 2-3 in the ufc and about to fight washed up Conor, also some other fighters like josh thompson and brent primus called him fake.
Justin Dustin will be a must watch
Gaethje's such a killer that he knows it's been exactly 11 days since his last fight, he just be counting down the days till he gets his hands on someone else. Legend.

@BOWLZAI thats part of his plan, he says he only fights once a year
@BOWLZAI nah hes fighting pretty good still
@@BOWLZAIand every fight has been a banger. Idk what you’re alluding to. Justin is pure entertainment in the cage.

Justin is my favorite fighter, he wears his heart on his sleeve. All the best, wish you a W if you get the fight
Dave Blackotomo
I LOVE Dustin.... But, in that rematch... I'd probably lean with Justin. I'd LOVE that rematch!!!!
I think Dustin would win again. He took so many of Justin's deadly leg kicks and was hurt at one point but still managed to come out on top. Anything can happen, but Dustin can scrap especially when it goes to the later rounds.
@@wwfera00 so true!!!! Dustin is a maniac in the cage!!!! I love that Southpaw striking!!!! 💎!!!!
I’d pay PPV money for him and Poirier rematch as the main event
Kamaru needs to go up weight class
The top 6 or 7 middleweights smoke kamaru
That could be the main event on a pay per view
It SHOULD and better be! Pay those men! They would sell amazing numbers
Justin is awesome
Gamrot vs Gaethje to see if he can defend high volume grappling
Gamrot lacks chin and his wrestling is getting predictable, Tsarukyan is the real challenge IMO.

We shall see, but as we know Dana, is a game player, behind the scenes, Leon should e able to choose, but not be forced
I love Justin Gaethje
UFC 290 Co Main!!
Inspiration he gives people too notch
I think the Dustin rematch will end the same. Dustin’s hands have only gotten better and his ground game is cleaner. But if it comes to a stand up fight I’m taking Dustin above all other 155ers.
I feel Meagan Olivi is better interviewer..
Conner didn’t want that smoke!
If Justin is going for 1 last title run he needs to take that intelligence into his fighting style & use his wrestling especially against ppl like Dustin & secure the W’s
A 3 round fight would be a challenge because your more limited
Dana please do it ! Hook Poirier and Gaethje up. This gonna be a good fight like Chandler v Poirier.
If only fans from the US got behind Dustin and Justin the same way they support Clownby Phonington! These guys are respectable warriors.
Never understood why fighters didn't watch film, all the greats in other sports 100% watch film
Justin is a great dude , humble and respectfull
