These young ladies are saving rock 'n' roll.
I hope you see just how important The Warning are to us. I know you do. Those young ladies are like family to many of us. That is not to say that we all know them, some do, and some have at least met them (like me), but it doesn't matter. The only way we could love them more is if they were our own children.
Seeing what they have done through hard work, determination, focus, love, and a heaping helping of talent (not necessarily in that order), has changed many of our lives, helping us to see, right before our eyes, we can reach our goals. We can go for that dream. The Warning has been a part of every day, without exception, since I first discovered them, late July 2018.

I am a 50 something old school hard rocker and metalhead. These young ladies are the best band I have seen in 30 years. I'm glad you picked this song to do. It really shows off how ridiculously great they are, and at such a young age. They have only played together for 5 years. Imagine that in 10 years they will still all be in their 20s.. it blows my mind thinking about their potential. They will take the world by storm soon and I cannot wait!

These girls, The Warning have an even more difficult road ahead because they have chosen to go independent. The music business is rough and will chew you up and spit you out. Thanks Kristin! I too will be flying to LA in January to see them at the Whisky, just as I did last January. The best live band I've ever seen and in my 64 years I've seen the best,but none compare to these young ladies! I've also had the privilege of talking to them face to face on several occasions and they are the sweetest,most humble & appreciative girls you could ever hope to meet! I'm bringing my 7 year old grandson who loves them to LA with me and they know he's coming and they told me they can't wait to meet him,how cool is that? What other band reaches out like that? I've been following TW for almost 6 years now and I love that I can point to them as role models for my 9 grandkids! I've not heard one bad or mediocre song from them,be it a cover or their 30+ originals!

Absolutely incredible song! Thanks for reacting! The meaning behind this song starts with the word “Malinchista”. It’s a Mexican word meaning that you prefer a foreign culture over your own. Sort of like a cultural traitor of sorts. Some people have called The Warning this word because they write and sing songs in English instead of Spanish. The girls have said repeatedly that since the music they grew up listening to was primarily in English, they have an easier time writing in English. Plus in my opinion it also makes your music a little more internationally reaching (since English is considered the official international language). So to answer the critics calling them this word, they write a kickass song in Spanish telling them “No soy loca ni malinchista” which means “We’re not crazy nor malinchista”. A polite middle finger to the critics, saying “we don’t care what you say, we’re gonna stay true to ourselves and do what we want to do with our music!”

In an interview the question was asked of Dany, “Why does The Warning do only English songs?”. Her response, “It’s because rock music just doesn’t sound that good in Spanish”. Well Dany, we now have this song in Spanish and it sounds fantastic. And what about Eruca Sativa and all the other great legendary Latin rock bands? Don’t they sound great?

I can’t get enough of this song. This debut performance is my favorite. Wow! Do they ever deliver! I saw your beautiful smile pop up at the chorus. It never left your face after that. This is an incredibly great song and it’s their first in their native language. I agree with everyone else. The Warning are the best. Thank you for your cool review.

Like I said a day or two ago I can find Narcisista all over CZcams. And I keep coming back to those who can understand Spanish because I can't. If you have not already seen it check out Wings of Pegasus' live streaming interview with the girls about this song. He did it sometime last week. I think I've watched it more than a dozen times. They are so much fun to watch even when they are not performing. And Fil is a musician so he asks the best questions.

I remember liking the recorded version, nothing more, then I heard the live-version (this one) and thought man this kicks ass, especially once I had read translations... And then.. then I got to experience it live! I mean, I already knew they're a band you should experience live if possible, but this shows it on a different level! Just to think that a 17 year old girl refused to cower in front of the critics, wrote this song & passionately delivered it with appropriate theatrics to drive home her message while pounding the drums. Apparently Pau's mother had to tone down her 1st draft. 😱
And she was synchronizing the display with her left stick besides co-ordinating with Dany's pedal board.

These girls are from another world. I was there this night. What Maddog didn't tell you was, this was the first time they every played this song live. It was the first time most of the crowd had ever heard the song. I was there that night, in fact, you paused it at the very end with my big head right in the middle LOL. I've been following these girls, by accident when someone posted them on FB 5 years ago. So when you watch videos of them in 2014 when they were younger, unbelievable! Dani who plays the electric guitar was 14 yrs old, Paulina, on drums was about 12, and Alejandra on bass was 9 yrs old. So what I understand, they were just shooting videos on youtube for fun. They started playing classic rock and roll. So that's all they knew and enjoyed playing. Just watch their youtube videos back in 2014. The critics in Mexico can't stand an all teenage girl rock band. If you liked this song, listen to their songs called "dust to dust" and "survive". Amazing!!!!
As a Mexican i hope that they delve deeper into their own Mexican musical heritage. I would love to hear how they interpret and cover some of the classic Mexican icons and songs from "latinamerica"
Unfortunately it IS true that they are somewhat disconnected from their Mexican culture when it comes the musical aspect. However, they are not the ones to be blamed for how their parents raised them when it comes to musical preferences.
Personally i applaud them for at least trying to sing and compose in spanish. What we as mexican society can and should work on is for our future generation of youth to break with the vicious cycle of malinchista tendencies in their own parenting.
I am still waiting for the day when Mexicans proudly and publicly reference their own people as idols and role models instead of outside impositions and influences being their principal and constant reference
As Mexicans we can sing in spanish english or whatever. That is not the issue. The issue is whether one is firmly grounded in ones own identity and culture and the normalization of assimilation and acculturation only contributes to the degradation and destruction of that
Breaking stereotypes or gaining a place in the mainstream and colonial system doesnt have to come at the expense of Mexican peoples essence, culture and identity

Their English is better than most Americans. They sound like they are from California. They will trip on a word here or there, but yes, they grew up learning English and listening to rock-n-roll in English. It's what comes natural to them.

This is my first comment of any of the hundreds of the warning videos I have seen. And it is about the meaning of the word "LOCA". It does´n means crazy
Firsts of all some context, I´m From Monterrey the same City of The warning band.
And here in "EL NORTE" as we refer to the North cities of México, the word LOCA used in the bullied context, Or when someone is talking bad about you behind your back means "whore" yes that's the interpretation, when people are talking in your backs instead of using the "whore" word they use an elegant word that imply the same "LOCA" . When someone is bullied, she receives offensive comments as "eres una loca" meaning "you are a whore" or some one that behaves as a whore, using elegant and implicit words. This is used in the high society environment, because sounds nice and is not a "bad word".
So, when the warning said, " No soy loca ni malinchista" means " I’m not a whore Or behave as a whore nether malinchista". Writen diferently means another ting " NO ESTOY LOCA" means "I´m not crazy". Now you get It, this is why The Warning was angry.
This is the way high society people talks bad thinks of some one behind the curtains.
