So this is my great aunt y'all are talking about and to whomever said that my aunt spending the years that she did to prove my uncles innocence was a waste is very disrespectful towards my family....smh my aunt did a VERY great thing for my uncle! And we enjoyed everyday out of the 6 months he lived after he was released. So no, my aunt did NOT waste anytime trying to free my uncle. She did what was right and released my innocent uncle. You would react the same if it was your family.

I did not become a lawyer like she did (she is the Greatest WOMEN on earth) and my story is partially parallel to this one. However, it was my brother in Law. he looked like a criminal, acted like one. when he was young had rap sheet a mile long...one day (out of the blue) they locked him up, I told him, "Look at me!" "Tell me the truth!" Skip to getting all the paperwork, court transcripts .. the WHOLE time everyone saying to me, "you know that will cost you?" you know you need more? "You know he has a long record?" Skip to 2000..he is OUT and has NEVER been back to jail. He needed one person to give A rats A$$ about him. That's the truth. @Betty Anne is a Rock Star!!! period. Cleared his name before he died. Plz Donate to 'The Innocence Project'
Brittany Waters thanks I really wanted to watch this movie but you had to ruin it for by saying that he lived only 6months after getting out!! There is no fuckin point of watching it now

It's amazing what siblings would do for you. I cried at so many parts because of the abundant love she has for her brother, what makes it better is it's a true story.

One of the best movies I've seen in a while. It's a true testament to how far someone is willing to go to free an innocent family member from prison of a crime they didn't commit. Betty Anne Waters is a woman I've come to admire because of her nonstop devotion to her brother and what she did in order to bring him home.
This is a great movie. Sam Rockwell is one of the best actors in the business. Betty Anne came to my law school and spoke about her experiences with the criminal justice system. Her story was very moving, and her brother's injustice was worse than even the movie portrayed. Betty Anne really is an inspiration.... Every time I see a case with lots of certainty on the part of the police and missing or conflicting evidence I think of this story.
Every time I think I've got insurmountable hurdles, I think of Betty Anne. To go from high school dropout to lawyer, out of sheer will, is amazing to contemplate.
I just watched this. I couldn't stop crying. That was so beautiful. I wish I could always be such a sister to my brother.
i finally got to see the movie for the first time, i just finished it a few minutes ago. this is an amazing story, made me cry. to dedicate her life to prove her brother was innocent is just incredible. shows how much hope, trust and love most of all she had for him.
i really admire her a lot. she is a great person with a big heart.
God will reward her in Heaven as well!!!!
This is the very first movie my kids are gonna have to watch as soon as they can understand. Everyone needs someone who is willing to fight for them to a no boundaries extent. A lot of parents do not see the importance in child bonding but at the end of the day, if your own blood cant fight for you, then who will. Greatest movie of all time.
I had to stop the trailer a minute in because it was giving away the whole movie. Great movie though. xx

Ive watched this movie twice in one day, its one of the best film I have ever seen so far. I have never ever seen so much love between a brother and a sister..It's an incredible story...

Just watched this film and it was beautifully epic! Films can be easily entertaining but its hard to achieve such powerfulness and inspiration that this movie achieved. Great acting, storytelling and great movie! I only rented it out but I'll definitely be buying it!
She was my next door neighbor for many years and I used to be friends with her kids although I was very young.
Amazing movie, defiantly a must watch. Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell totally should have been nominated this year in every award show. There performances in this movie are incredible.

Maybe he got institutionalized like Brooks Hatlin in Shawshank Redemption. 19 yrs in prison as an innocent man probably feels longer than 19 yrs in prison as a guilty man.

a powerful human drama about convincing everybody else of the truth
This is a story that proves anyone will fight for their family no matter the odds. It's true too people don't like to admit their wrong. Even two siblings will go to extreme lengths for one another to make family whole again. Emotions are heavy, performances are terrific, and it’s very compelling.

Sam Rockwell has been in my sight for a long time. In the worlds view he should at least be in the top 5 best actors. In my eyes he is the best actor, Moon was incredible. This looks amazing.

There is one scene, a small moment.. where sam's character walks past a window as he looks over at his sister waiting, It makes me cry every time, thinking of my mother visiting my older brother in prison..
I haven't seen this one yet but by the look of the trailer, Swank, Rockwell & Juliette Lewis will get nominated. Lots of critics are generating Oscar buzz for the three of them. Same with Minnie Driver & Melissa Leo.
