59:18 This was a heartwarming moment to hear James McGarry being announced as a replacement for P.J Ryan. In that moment, P.J became the one and only goalkeeper in history to keep a clean sheet in an entire championship. James was such a loveable character and we will never forget the loss of his wife Vanessa R.I.P
What an absolute bestiality of a match. Kilkenny didn't just miss only 2 shots, but they were everywhere, stealing balls and catching them every single time. They executed their strategy to absolute perfection and it was reflected in the score. Minds will be forever blown away in sight of this match.
The only All-Ireland finsl I didn't attend or see 'live' on tv. The Irish Champion stakes was postponed by one day from Saturday to Sunday & was at that.
It was only later that I heard about the chaotic Waterford preparation for the final. There was a lot of non-runners at Leopardstown that day. Waterford was a non-runner in Croke Park on the same day.
If I were a Kilkenny sub that day , I would have been very pissed off at not getting a game. Only one sub was made by choice and another cause they had too. The game was over after 20 mins. The bench should have been emptied
@@charliebridges3584 The game was over, I know they were doing well the starting team but might as well when the game is over as a contest give 2 or 3 guys a game. Most managers in this scenario would throw on subs
Waterford miss there chance in 2006..if they beat Cork in the Semi final im convinced they would have beat Killkenny in 2006 final...@paddy Sullivan Cork. ..
I taught 2002 was Waterford's best chance to win the All-Ireland the mistake that cost them that year was Waterford underestimated Clare in the semi-final If Waterford reached the All-Ireland final in 2002 they would have beaten Kilkenny in 2002 Waterford where in there prime they just overlooked the banner county.
Kilkenny absolutely humiliated Waterford that day i remember at the time after the final people where Saying Tipperary and Galway under Ger Loughnane would given Kilkenny a better game not a chance the KK Cats would have blown them both away Tipp would have beaten by about 10 or 11 points and Galway defeated by about 14 points that Kilkenny them where a serious outfit.

Beastiality????? 😂😂
A perfect all round display from kilkenny a game that started at 3:30 and ended at 3-30
That was scribbled on a vhs tape at home until recently thrown in a skip. This fact lives on! Greatest KK team of all time NB
I remember how downtrodden I was after this as Waterford fan. I remember the lads coming back to Waterford and some of them were in tears.

I'm a Kilkenny man in Waterford but in fairness to the Blaas, we'd have done that to any team in history. 1 to 15 it's the best team ever assembled.
The current limerick team would beat any Kilkenny team by 10+ points
@@12345Yeah based on the average hurling pedigree of limerick since the founding of the gaa that is not very likely

Why mess around with the team when they were going so well?

Waterford's first touch was terrible on the day.
Yes but kilkenny awesome
How do you know? They never touched a ball

Waterford taught they had a all Ireland in the bag
lol,no they didnt
I'll never see Waterford win the all Ireland we were so close as well 3 years ago we lost by 3 points to Galway 😭
@@declanmurphy417 Yeh I mean hopefully a crack at it we're in the semi final now playing on Saturday or Sunday I think this week or next week idk
No they didn't. They hadn't been in a final since like 1963 before this so everyone wanted to behind their team.
@@yourapexpredator8629 Waterford are like Mayo in the Gaelic football they come so close they just can't get over the line.
