I understand their pain. I haven't had running water in over 12 years. It's a nightmare but i love my view and location.

So let me get this straight. This guy showed up with a camera crew. Dropped a wrench down the well and then installed the pump?
Why couldn't anybody else do that in 20 years?

He showed up and did it for free due to having to show backing. It costs a ridiculous amount of money to get a 900ft well up and running.

Why would they throw a lot of money at this well that they thought was dry? Even finding the right contractor that knew how to do it right might be tough.

This is one of my favorite chapters I call it hope, I worked 3 years raising bees in the countryside, I am so happy to know that now you have water, you are raising your ducks and have your greenhouse to raise vegetables.
I would like to share a couple of incredible sources of protein for your ducks, fish, reptiles, etc
    1.- Mealworms have 40 - 50 % protein plus OMEGA 3.
2.- California earthworms for protein plus humus fertilizer.
You can check vídeos on CZcams for more information, best regards and wishes.

Something wrong with this picture. Why would someone drill a 900+' deep well when there was water much closer to the surface? A 900' deep well would have been very costly.

That steel well cassing is sealed into bed rock to stop contaminated ground water run off getting into the well. You dont punch holes in it. If a drilled well go dry or a chuck of rock brakes off blocking the well. You get a well drilling company to come out an clamp on to the steel well casting and send down the drill rods and clear it out or drill deeper if well gone dry or slow recovery. That simple. This show so dumb.

I cant help but notice that most of the men featured on these homesteading shows have long crazy beards. I homestead, and i don't have a long beard. Not all of us who live off gride dress and look like 18th centry hillbillies.

    • @paulhart7739

Drilling is too expensive for regular people. Typically wells are made by blasting high pressure water directly to bottom and the mud flows up out the top. If you hit rock, you have to start over at a different location
