      way too long. I love the indy show and everytime we went there at the end of the visit we would go on the tram and every time it was coming to us to pick us up we waved at the people and they always waved back. I wish hollywood studios didnt turn literally 75% of the park into star wars stuff.

      I believe they are powered by propane which is considered to be a very clean source of energy and electric sometimes can not give you the power needed to pull all that weight. A tram has to stop and go multiple times and that requires a lot of power.

    • @kato223
      @kato223 Před 2 lety +4

      The engines in those trams not only need the power, they are also restricted on a top speed so they are geared much lower than a standard engine will be causing them to run at a much higher RPM making them noisier. I higher geared vehicle can run at the same speed, but not get as much power. In a car when it is shifting up from 1st to 5th or 6th depending on the engine, the majority of the horsepower comes within the first 3 gears. Most cars can start from a full stop in either 1st or 2nd gear because that is where the highest amount of power comes from. During those gears the engine is also at its loudest because of the higher RPMs. The higher gears run at much lower RPMs and the car is already moving at speeds so the engine only needs to provide just a little bit of power to keep it going. This is why those tram engines are so loud.

    Well, that pretty much dispels all those rumors/opinions that all of the downtime was because trams were being converted or replaced with an electrified fleet. At Disneyland, security cast members told us early on that the trams deteriorated during the 2020/2021 shutdown. There wasn't enough staff to maintain them. When they tried to put them back in service a large majority of them wouldn't run. Continued short staffing and parts shortages made the repair process prolonged. Glad to see WDW trams back in action, and can't wait for the same at Disneyland.

    Those aren't courtesy trams, but rather an integral part of the Disney transportation that was devised from Day 1 by Walt Disney. Years ago Disney was known for moving people quickly and efficiently. This is lacking today. This leads to guest dissatisfaction. They really need to hire someone to be creative and innovative to solve what is increasingly becoming a problem in the parks. Genie is not cutting it.

      Kudos to you... and yes, the courtesy at Disney parks with their disgruntled or newly under trained "cast members" can be lacking. Chapek needs to quit firing long-time employees and show some American corporate leadership. When CEO of DIS/ABC, you can't fire thousands of Imagineers in Burbank and think it won't hurt your company in the longrun.
