In the rules it says it Is illegal to use black tape in NHL rules, because "the goalies get distracted or think that the knob or blade is the puck, therefore giving the other player an advantage." It's stupid I know, like yeah bright green tape down the whole shaft and on the blade is totally not distracting, but some black tape is and makes the goalie think the puck Is your stick.
