    Kettlebell snatch >>> dumbbell snatch and if you tell me that it takes a while to learn the kettlebell snatch, I learned it within an hour from a qualified kettlebell coach after spending weeks banging my wrist as I tried to learn it on my own. You can squeeze in far more reps with the same weight within the same time.

    Alternative to Olympic lifts are the future. There are so many alternatives that are safer.

    The DB snatch places more shear force on the elbow than barbell snatch. Med ball throw doesn't generate force or power as much as Olymoic lifts..nor does it mimic the velocity of Olynoic lifts. Trapbar jump might work better.

      How the hell does the DB snatch place any more force on the elbow? If it's doing that then you aren't doing it correctly. That is complete BS and you need to work on your form. And who told you med ball throws don't generate enough force or power? Force depends completely on you. Power is a result of that said force and velocity of the lift. You can generate power with any med ball throw if done correctly. I'm assuming you are under the delusion that weight equals power in which case you can simply get a heavier med ball. Even if you can't get say a 75kg med ball you can still generate increased power (the goal of olympic lifts) with proper use of force times the velocity behind the throw. At a certain point power work becomes less significant and you need to shift focus to other area's such as strength to improve your athletic ability (typically 1.5-1.75× BW on olympic lifts or equivalent).

      What if you only have access to medballs and not bars and weights? Would you still not go with medball throws?

    Nothing is unsafe about them if you do them with proper form
