@@snapmalloy5556 (Sorry, got long winded, again 😬) Not saying it can’t happen but these horses have shown amazing discretion in their response to the crowds, and I think it’s Ormonde who reacts to persons who infringe on other tourists, getting in their way to selfishly preempt a photo. The narrator mentioned it on one video and it happened consistently that day. Still, I’m with you on this, so many of the tourists aren’t paying attention to the horse’s’ mood.
If you’re not a horse lover, they are ordinarily very gentle and loving creatures, although a few breeds, like those with thoroughbred blood-and the Royal horses appear to have some of those bloodlines-are a little more temperamental. It’s amazing that they tolerate this situation, crowds, idiots, heat and humidity, and the monotonous lack of movement, as well as they do.

While not one who has been riding more than a couple times, I was around them often as I was raised in a heavily populated Amish community. And I agree, they are generally peaceful creatures....But there sure are some ornery ones with these Royal guards. I personally wouldn't allow a child near one.

Never rush up to a horse whether you know if it’s friendly or not. Horses have an uncanny peripheral vision, as it’s in their DNA as being a food source in the wild. Fight or flight is real, yet since these horses are trained well under saddle, all they have is their necks attached to a very strong jaw… with big teeth. They also have ‘herd’ order, so if you are a stranger, weak, or new to the herd, they can take action regardless of species. These are military horses. They aren’t bred or raised to take the fight out of them, fact is a war horse needs to keep this DNA structure in them to serve their purpose.
Tourists? Cool, but it’s not the solder or horses fault one bit (no pun intended). This isn’t Disney Land and visitors put themselves at risk just to take a picture. As far as mentioned by someone here, law suit? Ridiculous, the risk is posted. Americans have a sue mentality because they want to blame others than themselves, therefore being nannied at every turn. Buy a post card, less risky. Signed a previously parade horse owner and rider, commonsense American.

This horse and all of HRH horses are trained to do a job. They know who takes care of them and who they can trust.
They are not trained to hug and cuddle and pander to tourists they know how much personal distance they need. But by all evidence very few people know or care that these horses have a brain and think and people do not realize the or care that the horse knows it is not your pet!!!

She did jump in suddenly and, according to a horse trainer, they don't have the ability to think before acting when it comes to protecting themselves. It's just a reaction to what they perceive as danger when she suddenly appeared in his peripheral vision.

Horses have peripheral vision and, as former prey animals, they react to certain visual stimuli instinctively. Ormonde (?) was obviously getting irritable at this point in time, when the woman with the large floppy green dress flounced around, followed by the girls with the floppy sweaters in an unusual position (to a horse) on their bodies. All of them increased his irritation level.
Anyone with a brain would have realized it would be wiser to move calmly and quietly and respect his space, not jump into position close enough for him to take a nip. She’s lucky that’s all she got, which was less than she deserved, but hopefully enough for her to realize she’s not the only living creature on the planet, while she, of course , plays victim.
