    Hello all! :)
Now this is the time where I "have to" write a comment. 😅
I got labeled with IBS, POTS, ME/CFS, (many, many symptoms; despite exhaustion especially constant sinus inflammation, digestive issues, pain etc.), suffered from it for 14 years until I even wasn't able to work and was nearly bedbound at the end of 2020.
Since then, I had to do a lot of emotional work with some Coaches to face trauma and supressed emotions, learn how to regulate me and my body and gain back the trust that I can heal.
I write this down to encourage those, who feel that soothing and calming just isn't possible at the time, to get some help! In my case, I am sure I wouldn't be where I am right now if I hadn't done that work.
But now, the things that you, Dan, tell us every day is EXACTLY what I need to hear and is getting me better massively! I am running out of words to say how thankful I am for your work! 🙏🏼 Your daily videos combined with somatick tracking meditations are making all the difference.
I wish you and all of us all the best!!
Sorry for the long comment, but I had to get this out. 😇😅
    Greetings from Austria!
    Julia

I just saved this video. I’m thrilled that you’re doing so much better, Julia P.! You pretty much mirror my own story. Digestive issues , CFS/ME. Lightheaded, vision issues. For myself, it is completely fear based. I’ve only been on this healing PDP journey for less than six months, and I’m leaps and bounds better. My fatigue was palpable, brain fog off the charts. Once I “called my brain out”, I took baby steps to enter back into life, it’s been a blessing, feels like a miracle from God. Please don’t give up, friends. Life is indeed worth living, you can heal!

I had pain then it turned into acute insomnia and anxiety those symptoms subsided and disappeared. Out of the blue i started having tremors in my right leg only when standing...it was really difficult to start escaping from the fear of having a rare disease because Dr google informed me that there is a rare neurological disease that is difficult to diagnose that is called orthostatic tremors.Although the doctors that i visited where keep telling me that the root cause of my tremors are psychological and not a neurological damage and i had fully embraced the TMS philosophy ,my mind was kept spinning around that rare disease, where by the way was difficult to diagnosed it...Then i made a conscious decision to start living with less fear about my symptoms it is not easy but my symptoms never stopped me from living my life , I haven't seen any breakthrough improvement but as you said the learning process takes times and you have to be patient, i imagine my mind as like teaching a child.Thank you Dan for all these content.

You are quite welcome. You are on the right path. Any time you go down the "rare disease" thought rabbit hole, remind yourself that doctors are wrong all the time and there's no proof you have that. For some, irregular heartbeat (PVC's, PAC's) can be TMS/stress, and if you freak out over those enough they can even evolve into full blown Atrial Fibrillation (Afib) episodes. I went through a period of waking up in the middle of the night with those, confirmed at the ER. Docs said Afib never goes away, it just gets worse. But I found it was TMS, just like the dozens of other maladies I have had. After I chose to accept, relax and not freak out about these symptoms they faded away. Have not had one for many months now. It is amazing what the brain can do. There must be a way to use this power in a positive way. Hope this helps someone.

Omg I have twitches and frequent urination and pvc’s all the damn time. And if I workout the stress and adrenaline from it triggers bigeminy and random bouts of SVT like a sudden racing heart then boom back to normal. It happens even at rest but when I’m stressed or really anxious it’s sooo much worse. Doctors said bloods fine and hearts fine but the ecg showed ventricular ectopics. It’s made me so fearful about training that I now avoid it.
What can I do because it’s literally ruining my life!

When you look at the various symptoms we’ve had as TMS’ers, it’s always the stuff we find scariest that manifests. For me, it’s usually around my senses. I have migraine with visual aura. I’ve had dizziness, on and off, once for four months until the facial pain replaced it. Tinnitus, worse at times when i wasn’t distracted by another symptom.
All this to say that your PPD diagnosis is 100% right on. We’re good at creating the things we really *don’t* want and the things we fear. The fear is the key to unlocking symptoms. It sometimes feels like the hardest thing. I’m telling myself in this moment that i can allow the fear to run rampant and stay in pain, or i can seriously work on the fear and find freedom from this pain.

Dr Sarno suggested that most arthritis is a normal abnormality and most often not the cause of the pain. He called it the gray hair of the spine. As we age, we all have arthritis. The key is to figure out if that is the cause of the pain or this thing Dr. Sarno termed TMS. We figure it out by seeing how the pain behaves, not what some doctor showed you on an xray or mri. Wonder if hypertension coming after TMS pain symptoms disappear or greatly reduce qualifies as another non pain symptom? Seems like non pain symptoms can be part of a symptom substitution sequence following the disappearance of classic TMS lower back pain or sciatica? I noticed with interest on our local Nextdoor site where when a older man stopped having TMJ or bruxism that he then developed hypertension. How all these symptoms interrelate and interact is beyond me!

@@PainFreeYou Seems like the same stress that generated the teeth grinding, TMJ or bruxism might activate hypertension (high blood pressure) when the teeth grinding no longer provides the stress with an outlet? Real hard to prove though. The interacting emotional economies that drive physical symptoms might all be driven by deeply repressed emotions in the primitive brain. Too bad Dr Sarno isn't still alive to comment on this hypothesis. This seems to be where your theory of creating consistent messages of safety and Sarno's notion of dangerous emotions repressed into the unconscious touch on one another. But what the heck do I know? A traditional allopathic doctor of internal medicine tried to tell me the other day that what we call TMS pain symptoms are actually arthritis created by old injuries. Sounded pretty far-fetched to me, but it made me think a while to refute him. Again as Sarno observed, the brain locates pain in old injury sites because those pain pathways are already programmed in the brain. Gets close to the origins of trauma and PTSD, does it not?

What about respiratory problems and allergies? I begun to have all those problems after I've developed the generalized anxiety disorder and a big post traumatic event. Is there a link between allergies respiratory problems and TMS?

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před rokem

Yes there is. Stress suppresses the digestive and immune systems. And that suppression can impact allergies. Counter stress with more self care. Dial down the fear. This video explains how fear runs the show. czcams.com/video/VSmTe8zPXh0/video.html

@@unknown1993E No, self care is doing nice things for yourself that have nothing to do with recovery from symptoms. Take a bath, take a walk, call a friend, read a good book or any number of things just for YOU.

If pushing yourself creates fear, it may not be beneficial. How about gradually doing more and more from a feeling of safety, not fear? czcams.com/video/mRowJmW4uk0/video.html

I really should know the answer after all this time but please could Dan - or anyone else - spell out for me the explanation for this: Long term I'm really stressed out and anxious (about my mum's dementia) but my old bladder pain has hardly been bothering me. Then, when things are not so bad with the dementia situation and I'm feeling less anxious, that's when my bladder pain tends to kick in again. Quite possibly it would go again tomorrow if something stressful happened which I became all tense and upset about.
I know there's a simple reason and I really want to explain it to my husband but I can't seem to find the words. It's like I only half get it.
I'm the type of person who always needs to understand the logic. Please can you help 🙏
    Thanks in advance 😊

When our brains are otherwise occupied and engaged in something really important, there is less time or attention given to the symptoms so they can settle down. It's all about perceived danger. We don't have to figure out why the brain does what it does. If we focus on and worry about pain, it's there and can increase. When we are engaged in life and not paying attention or giving fear to symptoms, they can diminish.

@@PainFreeYou Thanks Dan. That makes sense but I think there might be more to it. Like Angelica's brain is thinking, "Oh dear, there's nothing in particular to stress about so let's turn the pain on now." Why, I don't quite understand.

@@alandry6872 I don't think there is more to it. I have the same experience ( with different symtpoms ) and I think Dan gives the perfect explanation...it's easy to find ourselves hyperfocused on bad events and so we switch all the attention to those and not the symptoms anymore.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Před rokem +3

@@alandry6872 We don't need to understand the motive of the brain. Pain is a protective mechanism. When the brain feels safe, it can turn off the pain. No need to over-complicate it looking for the "why" behind it all.

I’m not Dan- but I will say when I reduced my stress and stopped wearing makeup regularly my acne went bye-bye! I struggled with adult acne - I bought a farm and stopped wearing makeup and even my husband was amazed at my skin. I sweat more then ever and am outside a lot even in the dirt and yet my skin has never been better.

@@fullypersuaded2952 Thanks for your reply. Well it happens to me quite regularly that when the acne gets worse and I am able to calm down and go out anyway and not cover it, it calms down quite quickly. I think the fact that I have been covering with makeup has been doing me a disservice. I think it is TMS. Because as I let people see my real face and I learn they still love me (it's not dangerous), the skin also calms down. So I think the acne might be just another symptom the brain chooses to turn on to make me stay at home in "safety".
Especially as I deal with the fear of being rejected.
Your lucky to have a farm ❤🥺

@@marketa4074 yep! I’ve been there! I used to be scared to get the mail without makeup. I’ve started letting go of vanity (not that’s it’s wrong to try to look pretty) but to not allow myself to believe I have ti be “pretty” to be valuable or to talk to people. I’ve actually begun to like the way I look without makeup.
I am blessed to have a farm- but it is definitely more work at times then I bargained for 😂 but it helps my mind and gives me tasks to do instead of stay inside and feel bad for myself 😔 I really need that
