We wanted to visit Taman Negara, just to get a glimpse on what's its all about.
So we booked Xcape Resort nearby Taman Negara National Park with our kids for just one night.
If you really want to experience Taman Negara, exploring a 130 million years old jungle, visiting aboriginal people and spotting some wild animals, birds and weird insects, there are lots of activities offered. However, in our case, we didn't plan much, as we just wanted some fresh air and greeneries.
To our surprise, we had some fun experience riding Hilux Pickup Truck, cruising the Tembeling river on a boat and just relaxing in the resort itself with light activities ; such as spotting insects. We had local dinner on floating restaurant watching sunset, by the river. The kids loves to see small fishes by the river.
On the way back, we found a nice restaurant in Pahang called Go bang Maju selling delicious local food and big river prawn. The concept is like Ikea cafe where we had to pickup food of our choice and put on 3 layer tray. We just have to pay before exit.Here we had experience eating so much local, especially Pahang food specialties. There’s masak tempoyak and river prawns is so big and affordable too. We tried local kueh to end our meal.
