They have to convert their service into a live tv service which would compete with sling, hulu tv, youtube tv, playstation and direct tv streaming services. Sling is the cheapest with its base at $25/month so wed have to cough up at least $30 a month if they did that. However, they could keep their current service separate and also have a live tv service similar to how hulu has different service offerings.
NHL, MLB, NBA all have their own apps, so why would they need Netflix when they can make their own money? Plus there are blackout games that are televised only on nbc for example. So they would be paying even more to show live games

I have Hulu as well but I just share my friends Neflix for the stuff Hulu doesn't have that Netflix has. I just use Neflix for a handful of shows like the the DC CW shows like Flash, Arrow etc. & Hulu I use for allot of the older Adult Swim shows & other stuff. Hulu actually got allot of stuff Netflix ditched.

For instance, Netflix only has season one of attack on Titan while the show is currently on season 3. And the Pokemon anime does not have the complete full first season, and then they skip seasons 2-17, completely gone. Some of the most searched things on Netflix, other than trends, are things THAT ARE NOT ON NETFLIX.

As a owner of both I have to agree that hulu movies are not good but the TV shows are great. The audience is different for both companies (anime, TV shows, daily uploads, drama, live TV which means news sports and etc). Netflix has better movies and targets younger audiences because they have avengers, love dramas, love movies, and of course Stranger Things. Btw I'm 13 and this is my honest review. I prefer hulu because I love sports, news, cartoons, and adult cartoons.

I've just noticed that Hulu will let you remove something from appearing on the main screen menus by disliking them. No other service I've seen does the user this favor.

Personally, I'm going to get both. I will use Netflix to binge watch Stranger Things (which I have never seen) and maybe watch an occasional movie. Yes ,on Hulu "Some" shows still have adds. It's Due Licensing reasons. which Hulu explains if you read everything . As for Netflix , They Just raised the prices Again! Been with Netflix Almost 15 years , and they are not the reasonable company they started out being . Netflix does have some Good Original Content , but the constant price changes and removal of other shows and movies to make room for their own stuff kind of stinks.
The Streaming Queue seems to be broken! If you click "Move to top" (under My List) it puts that movie to the very END of the list!!!! (with no easy way to move it to the top of the list) I called it into support and they knew about the bug, but have not fixed it! (for ~a month or more now!)
A few things you missed. Netflix is free with T-Mobile depending on the deal package you pick. Netflix has a age restriction component. There is a website ( i forgot it, just Google it) that tells you what shows are coming/leaving Netflix. I think you can give your own personal ratings of a show on Netflix.
I canceled Netflix had it for over 10 years and they want more money for nothing. I kept Hulu as I don't have cable anymore its pretty handy for 12 bucks.

I have Prime, Hulu and Netflix Streaming and DVD Services. I've been with Netflix since they started and use to get up to 8 DVDs at a time for $6.99 month. You could return them and get more, unlimited every month. I'd get 8, copy them and return them and repeat as fast as the mailman couldget them here. I've got thousands of DVDs copied and now downloaded to digital external harddrives. But, now you can only get 2 at a time. You can have more people on the streaming service watching at the same time.. The only problem is searching for something new, when you don't have a clue as to what you want to watch. They need an alphabetical list of the titles and they hold the recent releases for the DVD service.
there's two things Netflix has that Hulu doesn't. 1. Bojack horseman 2. F is for family. Probably my favorite shows of all time. But personally I like Hulu better.

I dont know about Netflix but if your on Hulu and see an ad, skip past the add and then rewind to "skip" the add. Also I have the basic plan on Hulu and there and ads on movies anymore!
Let me just step in to add a few things that I noticed missing right away: You can get rid of ads on Hulu if you pay more. Hulu also has the screen cast feature. Netflix app doesn't allow you to change quality. Netflix web app doesn't have mini player.
Yeah I guess there is a pretty large library to try and narrow down some favorites. I haven’t heard much talk about the Hulu series so I was curious. Netflix forced me to open a Hulu account when they, unannounced, dropped the first 3 seasons of Heartland. It is certainly their right to make decisions such as this but a little heads up would have allow those watching such series to binge watch series segments which were about to be dropped. The ad supported Hulu service is filled with commercials repeated ad nauseam. There are many services which do not flood a program with a bunch of low budget and often very dumb commercials. As soon as I catch up on Heartland, Hulu will be dropped.
I’ve had both Netflix and Hulu their about the same price Hulu (no ads) and Netflix standard. Netflix standard is a dollar more, what I’ve experienced with Hulu is there’s no audio language option and Netflix has audio Language. Hulu has its originals and Netflix originals. Only way too see which one you like is you have to try them both use a trial.
HULU IS JUST UNBEARABLE. I’ll list all the things wrong with it: - it shows the same ads over and over. This is literally so annoying if you are watching a show with a lot of episodes and seasons - it has ads - used to be free - constantly advertising, from when you pause a show to just scrolling through shows, it has the audacity to give u ads covering up the picture - they have so many extra subscriptions (optional) but each one is way too much for just ONE CHANNEL - ads - ADS - *_AAAAAADDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSSS_*
Hulu has a lot more shows and movies than Netflix but with Hulu even if you get a subscription they still give tons of ads that can go from 20 seconds to 90 and there are about 5 ads every episodes. Netflix has no ads but less shows and movies, that I understand because it just costs too much. But they need to remove shows ALOT which kinda sucks.

Figured to try Hulu, much more of a t.v watcher than movies, and while Netflix does have great content, most people subscribe to find and watch their favorite content. Netflix marvel series being booted in favor of Disney licensing issues is a bummer, but loving the fact most cable shows are on Hulu, debut after they air in 24 hrs and offer just that little extra over Netflix.

Netflix wins for me as hulu is not available in my country. This will be a huge downside to hulu. I have Netflix, Amazon prime and kayo. Kayo is purely sports and gives me access to all sports from around the world including NBA and NFL and local sports.

Hulu keeps jacking up the price. As of December 2019, the rate for live streaming will go from $50 to $55 and you STILL cannot watch YOUR content when you're away from home. If you're in a hotel? Nope.
Hulu hands down. I tried a free month membership of Hulu in September and still had aNetflix subscription going. I cancelled my membership and switched to Hulu. Netflix has a few very good originals though

I agree with you about the ads on Hulu even when paying for the highest tier. That's one of the things that's kept me away from it.
Hulu tv is like sling and the other live tv services. They all have ads for the most part. Its not a library service like the base hulu or netflix.

Netflix has also raised prices and is losing all it's Disney and DC properties and Disney includes Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney and DC includes Gotham and no new seasons, they also are considering adding commercials, furthermore you mentioned that Netflix has more subscribers than HULU however what you didn't say was that HULu is only offered in the U.S. and Netflix is offered world wide so you left out some key information I think

Yes ,on Hulu "Some" shows still have adds. It's Due Licensing reasons. which Hulu explains if you read everything . As for Netflix , They Just raised the prices Again! Been with Netflix Almost 15 years , and they are not the reasonable company they started out being . Netflix does have some Good Original Content , but the constant price changes and removal of other shows and movies to make room for their own stuff kind of stinks.

The Streaming Queue seems to be broken! If you click "Move to top" (under My List) it puts that movie to the very END of the list!!!! (with no easy way to move it to the top of the list) I called it into support and they knew about the bug, but have not fixed it! (for ~a month or more now!)

A few things you missed.
Netflix is free with T-Mobile depending on the deal package you pick. Netflix has a age restriction component. There is a website ( i forgot it, just Google it) that tells you what shows are coming/leaving Netflix. I think you can give your own personal ratings of a show on Netflix.

I have Prime, Hulu and Netflix Streaming and DVD Services. I've been with Netflix since they started and use to get up to 8 DVDs at a time for $6.99 month. You could return them and get more, unlimited every month. I'd get 8, copy them and return them and repeat as fast as the mailman couldget them here. I've got thousands of DVDs copied and now downloaded to digital external harddrives. But, now you can only get 2 at a time. You can have more people on the streaming service watching at the same time.. The only problem is searching for something new, when you don't have a clue as to what you want to watch. They need an alphabetical list of the titles and they hold the recent releases for the DVD service.

1:it takes the ending of a new season for Netflix to upload new episodes it takes like 8 7 6 months for it to upload❌
2:it has so much stuff and I hardly can find anything good❌
3:it doesn’t add new episodes in some shows for example (it takes 5 years for something to get add on to Netflix and I can wait that long)❌

You can get rid of ads on Hulu if you pay more.
Hulu also has the screen cast feature.
Netflix app doesn't allow you to change quality.

Netflix forced me to open a Hulu account when they, unannounced, dropped the first 3 seasons of Heartland. It is certainly their right to make decisions such as this but a little heads up would have allow those watching such series to binge watch series segments which were about to be dropped.
The ad supported Hulu service is filled with commercials repeated ad nauseam.
There are many services which do not flood a program with a bunch of low budget and often very dumb commercials.
As soon as I catch up on Heartland, Hulu will be dropped.

I’ve had both Netflix and Hulu their about the same price Hulu (no ads) and Netflix standard. Netflix standard is a dollar more, what I’ve experienced with Hulu is there’s no audio language option and Netflix has audio Language. Hulu has its originals and Netflix originals. Only way too see which one you like is you have to try them both use a trial.
You could cast to a TV with hulu too. I do it all the time
HULU IS JUST UNBEARABLE. I’ll list all the things wrong with it:
- it shows the same ads over and over. This is literally so annoying if you are watching a show with a lot of episodes and seasons
- it has ads
- used to be free
- constantly advertising, from when you pause a show to just scrolling through shows, it has the audacity to give u ads covering up the picture
- they have so many extra subscriptions (optional) but each one is way too much for just ONE CHANNEL
- ads
- ADS
- *_AAAAAADDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSSS_*
Just need to pay 4$ a month to remove them

Hulu has a lot more shows and movies than Netflix but with Hulu even if you get a subscription they still give tons of ads that can go from 20 seconds to 90 and there are about 5 ads every episodes. Netflix has no ads but less shows and movies, that I understand because it just costs too much. But they need to remove shows ALOT which kinda sucks.

Figured to try Hulu, much more of a t.v watcher than movies, and while Netflix does have great content, most people subscribe to find and watch their favorite content. Netflix marvel series being booted in favor of Disney licensing issues is a bummer, but loving the fact most cable shows are on Hulu, debut after they air in 24 hrs and offer just that little extra over Netflix.
Forgot to mention, HUGE draw in for anime watchers now that Funimation announced their partnership. Dunno when though.

Netflix wins for me as hulu is not available in my country. This will be a huge downside to hulu. I have Netflix, Amazon prime and kayo. Kayo is purely sports and gives me access to all sports from around the world including NBA and NFL and local sports.

Hulu keeps jacking up the price. As of December 2019, the rate for live streaming will go from $50 to $55 and you STILL cannot watch YOUR content when you're away from home. If you're in a hotel? Nope.

Hulu hands down. I tried a free month membership of Hulu in September and still had aNetflix subscription going. I cancelled my membership and switched to Hulu. Netflix has a few very good originals though
