  • In this video I will show you how to install and remove a Shimano Hollowtech 2 crankset (chainset). I will also show you the process of changing the chainrings. This is a step by step guide including tips and the tools needed for the job. This will apply for most modern Shimano cranksets (Tiagra 4700, 105 5700, 5800, R7000, Ultegra 6700, 6800, R8000, and Dura Ace 9000, 9100 series).

Love this. Would like to know more about how you made the purchase too. So hard to buy anything from Taiwan. Except tea and man what good tea it is.

Hey Scott, thanks for your informative video👍🏿
Is there a way to exchange the 34 ring to a 32 or 30?
    Thank you

I tried a solution on my ultegra crank set that was made by company called Croder ...but I found that the chainrings were too flexy... so I don't think that's worth it... Just go the SRAM way and buy a 36 tooth cassette .. I'm currently running a 34 on the front small chainring with a 36 on the back cassette and it works fine with a long cage derailleur

It’s a T30 Torx. The manual says to tighten to 12-16 nm.

You don’t need to remove the crank arms to replace the chain rings!!
What is this guy doing wasting his time and the viewers time.
It is designed to remove the chain rings without removing the crank arms
Just go directly to the inner ring and remove the bolts from the inside using Allen key and replace the inner or outer

If you actually watch the video..I was doing two jobs at once. I was regreasing the bottom bracket and it's a lot easier to replace the rings when the crank that is off. Cheer up buddy.
