@Josh Johnston honestly I know it would be a dangerous situation to confront him with a knife, but I'd honestly feel like I'd rather confront him anyway just to avoid the possibility of harm to the pilots. I'm much more likely to survive minor stab wounds (only minor due to others helping apprehend him) than I would a plane crash or even worse, a plane hijack

To the passenger that stood up...THANK YOU, SIR, so very much for having the courage to try and intervene. I'm not certain your seat mate was standing up to help as well..if so, THANK YOU, SIR. Right, wrong, or in different, I don't know the answer if it was wise to attempt to assist. But I didn't see anyone else ready to try and help from this situation escalating. I hope this fella gets the help he needs, and I am sorry for every passenger having to witness and experience this episode on their flight. Simply frightening.
This is what I have experienced and witnessed my entire adult life in the corporate world and on the street. For every brave person, there are at least 100 cowards. P. Diddy being exhibit A. Harvey Weinstein being exhibit B.
Anybody who causes an unnecessary scene on a plane like this should be permanently banned from flying.

The guy sitting right next to the one that stoop up did the same thing at the same time and right after them a whole bunch of guys went after the dude. You can see it better in a different video.

It's sad that we live in a world where only one man stands up to someone like this. I can count 30 men in the blink of an eye that I know that would stand up to this man without even second guessing it. But I guess that's because I live in the south where people have enough balls to stand up for others.
He was being annoying and causing a ruckus at first, there's no reason to punch someone for that. You just ignore people like that like you would a crying baby.
Of course as soon as he said he was gonna take over the plane you get people standing up, because that's now a threat.

There are a lot of comments on about why people aren't doing anything... People need to realize that most folks are sitting back doing nothing - hoping and thinking that this guy might settle down and sit back down. Confronting him too quickly could make him super snap and cause things to go south quickly. So no, not every man is a coward because they are sitting in their seat waiting to see what unfolds...
