I'm back with another Smashing Pumpkins reaction from their 1995 double-album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, and this time we listen to the downtempo and sonically compelling "Beautiful," though I wasn't able to chart the lyrical themes fully on a first listen. I thought I heard you calling me. 😁🥰 Indeed, another very different colour on this album's rich palette. Not one of the most striking tracks, but a very welcome variation when you listen to the whole album. It's never just more of the same. 😉
Seemingly a very sweet song, though I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics and didn't really catch the possibly more "complicated" side of it. As to the sonics, you described them wonderfully, and I also like that kind of "slipping into a void" ending, not just a normal fade-out. 😘
