I'm listening to Soviet vinyls on digital CZcams through my grandmother's 70's SHARP stereo via a cassette tape converter. Good times.
I am honestly excited by how wonderfully lo-fi that must sound.
Can you signal any stronger ?
what is a cassette tape converter? are you send it bluetooth to a tape converter?

Must have amazing audio quality! More technology means better audio right?
Protect this channel at all costs.
I'm American and I think this Soviet jazz is really good.
This is one of the best channels on CZcams
By far the best one I ever saw
@@gabrielceolato2 it's my go to on Sunday mornings.
Can’t make my morning coffee without this channel love it
Definitely. A gem.
we need a soundcloud account from this guy!

I refuse to be normal. It started with Eurobeat (an Italian genre), then moved into 80's J-Pop and 70's-80's Japanese Jazz Fusion, then into Bossa Nova (a Brazilian genre), and now I'm here, at Soviet jazz. I actively listen to all of these genres for different moods (though this is the first bit of Soviet Jazz, I feel I'll be hearing more in the future); Eurobeat for racing, J-Pop or Jazz for mostly an idle mood, and Bossa Nova for Minecraft. I am an American teen, and like 98% of my peers listen to rap
Cool dude. I like your post. Im 51 n from UK. You've got good taste in music i reckon
you sound deeply annoying
I love your eclectic taste because I share the same eclectic taste.
I’ve always loved Soviet jazz growing up, and the stunning diversity and mix of folk, Caucasian, Central Asian, and European influences births a fantastic universe of its own. Something I specifically enjoy about it is the music tends to feel very cinematic with motifs and themes that connect immediately with your emotions.
the soviets dont mess around with their arts
When Armenia and Azerbaijan be good neighbor, they make good jazz
Music does really unite nations
Yep.

Wtf :DD
Wow, just noticed am az part is huge, u'r right
29:15 Vagif Mustafa-zadeh, a famous jazz composer not only in Azerbaijan but also in the Soviet, dedicated this song to his daughter Aziza. I strongly recommend you to listen to his other compositions such as Dushunce( Thought) and Tenhaliq (Solitude).
Also, those who interested, Aziza herself is a great jazz musician. She has done some great collaboration with some of the best musicians in the world. Check her out as well.
@@travellogger5080 specially her Gachma Gozel song. I am really suprised that you know her. That is so cool man)

Amen to that friend
I love the fact that the DJ has his salt rock and lava lamp in the room. You can tell he is keen on post-soviet aesthetics 😄
Bro.. Love Russian Jazz..the second I heard Datevik and Konstanin Orbelian wailing away I subbed.. I can see that this will become my favorite Breakfast music channel for a long time. Excellent work - Kudos from Texas.
As a jazz head, I NEEDED this on this chilly, rainy morning. What a way to start my Sunday! Thank you, CZcams Recommendations. I'm a subscriber now.
just how I started my Sunday today!
The soviet jazz sounds amazing, i think that it completes the brazilian jazz.

This channel really opens your eyes to the crazy amount of amazing international music around the world, and no mater the language if it’s good music you can enjoy it, sometimes even more, than the music from your own language.. keep it up brother, I love the channel 🙏💪🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Agreed
We recently shot a documentary about Usein Bekirov, the son of Riza Bekirov, the pianist of the Sato ensemble. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Sato in your playlist. Teşekurler!
Wow, special thanks from Armenia

bunch of Armenian bands, am impressed didn't even know we had any the dilizian one just hit the spot
Anything Soviet/Russian, instant listen for me. Thanks for making my Sundays dope.
The 3rd track strongly reminds me of Herbie Hancock 's Butterfly including the arrangement itself. And the bass is so close to Chameleon... omg
i thought the same!!
I love the UK council flat view outside the window :)
Enjoying vodka with your set. Beautiful. Greetings from India.
Thanks so much! I love it. Greets from Germany!
Thanks for the wonderful compilation!
This compilation mostly covers artists from Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. Will be interesting to hear Russian, Latvian, Lithuanian bands which were also good.
P.S. I think people making "KGB, comrade, our" jokes don't understand how blunt and untasteful they are.
And what most important, "My Analog Journal" tries to show that countries were not and are not that different.
But such jokes just alienate us from each other.
@@Daniil_Ryvak верно!
From what I've seen in videos, pictures and etc is that the people from countries that were once soviet republics are some of the kindest and most hospitable people on the planet. With such kind hearts, incredible art is sure to follow :)
Do you have any Latvian or Lithuanian artists from this genre you would recommend? The Baltics are part of my heritage and it makes me happy to learn about them
I have to admit, the tactile feedback from playing Vinyl records is much more intimate and satisfying. I think something is lost when digital components are introduced by the DJs. Much like holding a book, touching the pages and the smell of pages, it creates a more profound experience. In the room's lighting , you can almost see Evan Green sitting cross-legged on the couch, smoking a cigarette and looking sexy whilst sipping from some fine wine.
Great selection of tracks!

Your channel is simply one of the best things I've ever discovered on CZcams!
Good music is good music, this is good music. Not understanding words but music as always is beautiful.
I woke up to a very snowy morning. This autoplayed after a podcast I was listening to and it's perfect. Thank you for expanding my world!
This holds up incredibly well at 0.75x
I tried, it became funny hahaha

I respect and appreciate your music choices man! Please keep helping us discover more amazing music. I think 90% of people would agree they never heard most of these musicians until you posted them. Keep it up bro. Tashakur!

WOW!!!!! FANTASTIC MUSIC!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing!!!!
Blessings from São Paulo - Brasil!
Seeing Vagif here makes me feel good. Teşekkürler, kardo
This list wouldn't be full with out him. Even tho Vagif can't feet the defenition of Soviet Jazz, to much western influence.
Had no idea about these guys! Really love how they fuse local musical traditions into their jazz. Thank you for this pleasant discovery :)
Vagif MusatafaZade was not only famous and best jazz musician in Azerbaijan but in soviets. His daughter Aziza Mustafazade is even more famous and superstar of jazz in modern times.
Listening to this while taking a long late night drive through Los Angeles-love that crate digging culture keeps going deeper and deeper finding new undiscovered gems from the past - whether you look into the future or explore deep into the past -human creativity is literally endless - music is mind medicine

Superb intro!
Confirm, this is a lovely set
ВАУУУ SATO!!! THANKS!!!
I miss the days of compilation CD's. Going to the store to pick up something with a cool cover, and finding one with even 1 or 2 amazing tracks that would turn me on to an artist. My Analog Journal helps to fill that niche, but in my mind I really picture going and buying the latest MAJ CD :)
thank you so much for your deep dives into international genres. Just such a resource.
This is incredibly awesome! Spasibo very much!
Wow! This is so good. Never thought I’d be liking this vibe.

I'm listening to this every day. And each time I finished the taste in my soul is different. Thank you so much for this beautiful combination
fuego my guy, thank you for this sonic ecstasy
That's really something new...from the old stuff.
Thanks for sharing, mate!
I absolutely in love with this channel! Really like to work while listening, thank you.
Thanks for this selection! This was a great showcase of Eastern influences in Soviet music.
Could you possibly make a set with music from USSR influenced by Slavic folk traditions? Bands like Ariel, Pesnyary, Verasy and so on. Maybe some of your guest collaborators have these in their collections?
thar s great , thanks for sharing it !!! keep up with the great work you guys doing . gracias !!! greetings from Berlin
Yes Mr Selector ! Thanks for the mix
What a pleasant surprise! I did not expect this would be as good as it is.

Can't get enough of that "Весенняя Песня"... Wish I could find it on Spotify. Great mix man, as always!
Awesome set!
I love your set. Hope to hear more from you. Greetings from Germany
That's what I want to do with my life. Have a nice audio setup and play rarities.
Thank you so much for posting this! I remember mentioning Orbelyan and Hovhannisyan in the “Turkish Cassette Tapes” video, so it looks like my wishes have been fulfilled. Vagif Mustafazade is also fantastic.
Great accompaniment to our get-together last night, this one, after dinner. Laughter, clinking of drinks glasses, little dancing, tobacco on the balcony.
bayıldım, çok güzel olmuş.
It's so warm! Cool!
