I recently discovered on my Fastpack 150 BP AW II that the sdcard reader holders were not as you showed. I thought the same, but that is like a rigid lid for a smaller pocket and holds cards really well.
Great review mate. You went through all the compartments well. I was thinking of getting the Gopro Daytripper but this will fit my Sony A6400, lenses, laptop, clothes, hiking gear way better.

Does it fit a 16 inch laptop even if they say 15?

Unfortunately it’s fixed. Can’t be removed to make one big bag like with Wandrd for example.
Do you know if the Peak Design Capture clip fits on the shoulder strap?
I’ve since moved on from this bag but I’m sure I used my capture clip with it.
