One other idea that has helped me: doing hopovers continuously in a straight line on the flat with a foot swing but no plant. Gets you used to the weird feeling of managing the throttle with both feet in the air and the sled moving underneath you.
My theory is that if you can leap around the sled on hard snow at subtle throttle openings without running yourself over, then it's easier in the steep and deep when you can grab big handfuls of gas and get away with murder. Anyway must go--got an appointment with my skincare advisor. @@northwestdynasty
