  • The AMBEO Augmented Audio Lab is an immersive playground for exploring the new possibilities of Augmented Audio. In the lab you can see, create, capture, shape and even throw sounds as if they were physical objects. Record sounds from the real world into loops, or combine them with a variety of included sounds to transform your environment into an interactive audiovisual soundscape.
The AMBEO Lab is designed to accompany the AMBEO AR One headset, the first spatial listening accessory certified under the ‘Works with Magic Leap’ program. For an optimal listening experience, wear an AMBEO AR One headset.

This was SO fun to shoot. For an artist like me who loves to create spontaneously with loops, seeing those sounds instantaneously transformed into living, pulsing 3D visualisations that you can pick up and bounce around the space you're in, with full binaural sound is just mind blowing.. it's hard to convey in this 2d video!

Fantastic video, SK Shlomo! Yes, the video is as good as it gets with the available means of capturing the in-game experience - but it definitely doesn't do justice to the real 3D experience. You gotta hear and see it in the flesh to believe it! :-)

thats awesome! does it record in mono then spatialize, or somehow record the binaural and manipulate it?

You wear Sennheiser earphones with mics in each ear, which record in binaural, and then the Magic Leap app is able to "move" that sound as you move around.

It's almost like panning on the grid. I wonder if the AR to RL ratio can adjust for reverb.

why does this look like it was recorded on a old VHS tape?

this is AR, so the real world is seen through glass, the display only contributes the virtual items. Therefore, there is no hq videostream to capture, only the low-res AR room analysis cameras, or some extreme micro-camera next to the eyes, hence limited video quality. But puts an even nicer focus on the great sound :)
