    This is true my brother, but there is also another part that no one wants to talk about. For example ,there are many young artists who are doing positive music but are not given the spotlight nor the proper platforms due to the fact that they are doing authentic reggae music. In truth and in fact, many Jamaicans don’t care about real authentic reggae music.

    I have mix feelings about this, because, over the years Jamaican artists do music for the love, now theses new music if for the music business they understand the business part of the music that’s why people mad, a lot of countries look at Jamaica music as a cheep music, they will pay any other country or genre because they have there value from the jump, suh we can meet in the middle

    Bless up from outta Yard bredda, sad to say that our cultural music legacy is looking dismal out there, i believe however that there needs to be a reset, and bringing back of original reggae and dancehall music, the artist and there producers are too dark....Vanity has take over the minds of these new yutes, it's more about getting rich quick, as opposed to building on the legacy of our music....

    They let the afrobeats take and evolve their style. We all know African countries don't speak broken English like Jamaica. But Jamaicans don't care about owning and modernizing their music on a international scale. We never had a figure to maintain the music on a large international scale after kartel..The problem also lies with the top artist and their failures to work with other genres. The top artist don't know how to spread the music.

    • @londonyardietv
      @londonyardietv  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Trust me it is simple only if these artists care about dancehall in its original format.. all Afrobeat does is to add some 90’s dancehall flavour to their music along with some Jamaican style language and taking over because we ain’t doing dancehall anymore and Afrobeat is the closest to dancehall vibes at the moment .. I guarantee you that if these youngsters just add back the dancehall drum and bass into their music them ok..

    First off Jamaicans don't know the difference between their own music genre's.
    Dancehall is not Reggae
    Reggae is not Dancehall
    Stop calling deejays Reggae artists. Reggae is Dennis Brown, Coco Tea, Sizzla, Buju, Bob Marley, Half Pint, Chronixx etc.
    Dancehall is Beenie, Shabba, Bounty, Kartel, and the new era rhyming artists.
    The people overseas want to hear the singers and live Reggae bands music, not a turntable style music, like Dancehall.
    The people want to hear Reggae, but what we are giving them is Dancehall masquerading as Reggae. These folks don't wanna hear about guns and scamming. They want the authentic culture Reggae music...🤔

    • @londonyardietv
      @londonyardietv  Před 9 měsíci

      To be honest with you the people dem want Reggae and Dancehall but what they nowadays is neither.. Shabba , Beenie, buju, Bounty and almost all the Original dancehall artists dem dominate the overseas space before.. it’s the lack of dancehall coming out of Jamaica is the problem.. I get your point but few of those you’re calling Reggae artists is actually Reggae and dancehall artist, for example Buju and Sizzla.. big up 👊🏽👊🏽

    Jamaican music is used, abused and exploited. Them all ungrateful. Is Jamaica bring hiphop to America and dub to Europe. We get very little respect. Let the youths do what them doing.
    Im a Jamaican living in Africa. Is pure dancehall and reggae samples them use. Every one copying our culture including our own Africans on the continent. Them teef we music an call it all type of things reggaeton, tropical pop, etc
    Once them so called in demand music get played out them will all run back to dancehall reggae.

  • @nordmyrie4195

    Too much murder music in dancehall that is one of the elements that is destroying dancehall music.The people need happy music to let them dance and have fun .Also too much slangs that people outside of Jamaica don’t even understand and the beats just not connecting , it doesn’t sound like dancehall doesn’t even sound like it’s from Jamaica so what’s the point listening to it.

    • @londonyardietv
      @londonyardietv  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Yeah the lyrical content is a big issue and most of their songs is not relatable plus the riddim has no feelings, and as you said it doesn’t sound like it’s from Jamaica..
