      It's because if you look at this as a whole, it's a freaking waste of money and materials that we all pay for just to sell a roof replacement where it's not really needed. There is no way that that hail damage on this roof has any effect on the life or performance of that roof.

  • @patpatpat999
    @patpatpat999 Před rokem +5

    And now you know why your home insurance rate doubled. Because some metal had a few dents in it.

    • @matthansen4030
      @matthansen4030 Před rokem +4

      Rates don't double because of a claim. Rates actually go up based on zip code when theres a storm in an area whether you file a claim or not. Insurance companies shoot their own foot with that one.

      @Jaco3688 Před 8 měsíci +1

      The dents in the soft metals do not affect their function, but they offer proof that the roof was pelted as well.

    • @logitech2072
      @logitech2072 Před měsícem

      @@matthansen4030 Yeah, they go up because of the aggregate effect of storm chasers who stretch the definition of damage to get a bunch of roofs replaced where they're not really needed.

    There needs to be a way more objective way to assess hail hits. Also makes it easier for homeowners with legitimate claims. And not more varying opinions or missed spots.

    Is the damage on the metal worthy of replacing ? It seems minor and has not broken the paint finish ?

    Wish we had hail here in southeastern virginia. It's soooo much easier to claim a hail event then a wind one. Keep up the good fight. One part shingle stable geocel 3 parts color matched shingle grit and a trowel.

  • @chrisis5884
    @chrisis5884 Před rokem +2

    Do you have evidence to show insurance the shingle is discontinued?? Letters from the manufacturer??

    • @WeFindSimpleSolutions
      @WeFindSimpleSolutions Před rokem

      What are multiple ways to do that, but, the ones that sticks and holds up the best are NTS and ITEL. You can give it a shot, and just provide manufacture information about the shingle being discontinued but I have found that they’re going to want to then prove that that is the shingle on the roof so sending one shingle to a third-party is the best non-disputable way 👍

    Hail damage is not subjective, if you have to look hard we're denying it.
    We don't care about the roof until we see everything, we want to see cars, mailboxes, downspouts, window screens, garage doors, outdoor furniture, decking that's painted, vinyl siding, soft wood fencing, those trees would of been destroyed in hail damage they have fantastic looking leaves, landscaping, enclosed trailers (will immediately die with even a slight hail), outdoor solar lights, oxidized plastic utility boxes.
    We pay attention to everything.
    The elongated cracks you're pointing out are called thermal cracking.
    That's such a light roof, actual hail damage wouldn't need a magnifying glass

      @sd91499 Před rokem +2

      Ha easy to tell you have no idea what you're talking about. Hail does weird things. It can batter a roof and total it and miss the downs because it came nearly straight down. It can bruise shingles and not knock off granules. I've seen siding completely destroyed and the screens survived with nothing but splatter marks. Garage doors normally hold up pretty well. Also most of these adjustments are happening a few weeks after a hail storm when the foliage has regrown. Take it from somebody who's been doing it for 7 years

      You are so correct, especially on most states that don't have line of site. spot on. if Accu says 1.75in on the DOL, I expect to see 1.75in, nature on bottom of hail it

      @@sd91499 Not only am I from the hail capital of the usa dubbed "hail alley" but I have more licenses than you do years of experience. I've been on all sides I've been the contractor with class A license, adjuster both independent and carrier, appraiser, and trainer.
      I'm the one they send out to train and clean up after the shit trail the almighty "7 year veterans" and their infinite wisdom leave behind.
      Sit your ass down and listen, because it's valuable information for you if it's actually your job.
      Hail doesn't knock off granuals, a bruise fractures the fiberglass matting and drives the granuals into it, It's unmistakable once you've seen the real thing. Light colored roofs you don't even have to get off the ladder to see it.
      You've seen siding destroyed and screens survive because vinyl is hard plastic that deteriorates and becomes fragile with sun exposure and heating and cooling cycles. Screens are metal or mesh with give as they're held in place with a rubber gasket.
      No, foliage does not grow back after a few weeks. You will see tree leaves look like swiss cheese because the leaves don't die. A tree doesn't just shed all of the leaves it had and regrow new ones. It'll destroy a gardeners whole season, and believe me they'll be carrying on about it. People will also talk about how much debris they had to clean up.
      Furthermore it's all around you, you'll have white tents going up for storm chasers fixing cars, you'll have people showing you videos and pictures, you'll hear about it 10,000 different times from 10,000 different people. Some of them will even save them in their freezer for you it creates a whole buzz.
      What I was saying is damaging hail does not miss all of these things no matter if it fell straight, north, east, west or south. Hail creates a story seen on any number of things before it will ever be seen on a shingle.
      It's not subjective, if you have to look hard for it, question it, have a roofer tell you about it etc. then it's not there period.
      I don't even care about the downspouts, show me the post metal mail box at the end of the driveway with oxidized black paint and I'll tell you if that roof is damaged or not in half a second.

      @fromcal1oc518 So your a door knocker or cold caller. It sucks when they only get 100 bucks after their deductible just for metals only. Whats funny is the 2 year of dol. 😆 almost impossible to get a TRR a 1.5 later. Plus dimples let's say on a metal barn with years of dirt build up inside.

    Adjusters see damage, contractors see money. They both directly benefit from finding more damage (unless the adjuster is hourly or day rate). Contractors perception are not reality because their looking for any reason to replace an entire roof, house wrap etc.. which makes sense because they don’t know how to make money off partial repairs. Adjusters need clear cut evidence why the entire roof needs replaced, insurance companies have upper management that will time from time kick back estimates from adjusters because they used a contractor’s perception and not adjusters. Damaged is caused when a material’s integrity is compromised and can cause further issues like allowing water leaks etc.. a damn scratch or mark does not compromise the integrity of the home in every situation. I’m an adjuster and I’m becoming a contractor in the future. I’m going to put door to door contractors out of business because I have morals and values and will know exactly what to look for instead of hoping an adjuster is cool or dumb enough not to do their job correctly. Also I won’t lie to homeowners by telling them they have enough damage to get a full roof and when the insurance deny a full roof I disappear like some contractors I’ve run into 😒. There good adjusters and contractors also bad adjusters and contractors. At the end of the day this ignorant battle between the two shouldn’t exist. Lack of understanding and communication along with greed will always hinder our species, no wonder why the aliens been showing up more lately. Complete annihilation of the human race will rid 99% of earth’s issues. 😩
