Can't wait for him to start a series where he travels the world rebuilding power hammers for people. By now he is a certified expert.
You know it’s a good machine when it both looks and sounds dangerous
That workshop has a mid-evil vibe to it. Large overhead machinery spinning with massive amounts of torque. It's like if you step in the wrong area....YOU DIE!!!
I'm amazed at the mass in the moving assembly of the hammer. It was slowing down 500 to 600 lb of rotating flywheels...
Wow your Ace is really well stocked. Mine only has lathe and shaper hold down kits. Impressive!
oh the sweet feeling of accomplishment when a job is finished and you can enjoy the fruits of your labor! what a sweet project! i can't imagine the joy you felt when that baby hit it's first piece of hot steel after being reborn! kudos Will!
Amazing hammer. Way to go, Will!
Congrats on bringing the beast to life! And glad you can look back and laugh about the fate of the other hammer. It still makes me clench up thinking about it. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with this thing. Thanks for sharing!
The sound the motor and flywheels makes when you turn the power on and off is fantastic!!!! Good job on slogging through it all and getting it running 👍👍👍
congratulations for making the old girl beating steel again!
One thing though, I would have install a control box (ON/OFF and emergency stop buttons, the box mounted on a mobile post to keep it at hand when using the power hammer) linked to the VFD external control board, they usually don't like to be cut from main voltage under load, even when they are supposedly engineered for that purpose. One more thing, if the VFD is designed for it, adding a braking resistor would be a good thing for a load like a large flywheel, it will help to wind down the load during shutdown, either in normal stop or emergency stop.
Love the cross and verses on the wall Will!
Very happy to see you get another big power hammer after the incident at Alec's shop. Huge undertaking and truly impressive
Ace is the place to get all of everyday hardware needs.
Will... your energy is amazing.
Plus one for the epic ad delivery.
A hobbyist, or a... Job... . . . . Person...
She's a beauty , really nice job of restoring this nice old machine . I believe that the paint that wouldn't come off probably has lead in it.
I love your self-deprecating humor. Keep up the great work.
"Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing."
- Theodore Roosevelt
Is one of my favorite quotes I've ever come across years ago.
Really happy to see the beast finally up and running! It was devastating to watch your last one take a tumble...
It's so white the snow has a well rounded portfolio
Living somewhere that snowy is a dream for me. I despise the heat so much, and frankly I prefer to be freezing cold rather than sweltering because it's easier to warm up rather than cool down.
Word. You can always apply another layer, but at one point you can't remove another one... I hate the heat too.
That only holds until about 15 below F. At some point your feet just decide they're never going to warm up again if you let them get cold. 🤣 I love the cold and snow, but I don't miss the back to back 30 inch snowfalls and the never ending plowing/blowing!
Lifetime country club membership white. Awesome that the hammer is up, been a fun project to watch 😃
The snow is so white that titanium white movie theatre screens are jealous. I love that you have your shop in the middle of nowhere. It's a beautiful place for sure. Keep up the good work! :-) I would personally love to see more kitchen chef knife creations in the future. Maybe you could visit Kramer Knives and collaborate with him one day. That would be really incredible. I assume you know that his chef knives are the most sought out by chefs all around the world. Again awesome content you create. So thank you for that :-)
This guy’s got some character I have to say. Love the puns. Cracked up at “You know the drill”.
That beauty is only missing 1 thing. One of AvE's stickers. He offers one that is along the lines of warning this machine predates safety, and has a pic of a power hammer. Well done Will.
Ace has everything!!! Was there last week and got two double EMT 90 connectors and a key for a 1990 Sears car-top carrier. Twins Ace is the best!!
You know the drill!
Hahahahahahaha
Love the humor. It's been wonderful watching the journey to get this working again. It's hard to believe it's been over a year.
It’s alive!!! it’s alive!!!!!!!
Congrats. I’m so glad you didn’t drop it.
I am so happy to see you fixed the hammer! I still cringe when i remember what happened with the other power hammer you were restoring, it literally broke my heart to see that happen. Congratulations! And happy smithing!
Will you're a dork! I love it! NGL I cried when you dropped the other one! Broke my heart watching yours break! So congratulations from Germany! Keep it up!
Its terrifying beautiful to see it moving, so dangerous, so smooth
It's the fresh journeys and the humor, but also the mistakes that kept me returning to Alec's channel and I'm happy you also are not afraid of sharing those :) Love your channel and happy you raised the video and audio quality :)
I love the black paint and gold letters on the power hammer. That’s a good looking beast of a machine.
Sitting in front of a damn screen and being proud of a guy from across the world is a weird feeling, still I'm proud of you :D
That MONSTER is a BEEEEEEAUTY!!! Congrats man, the springy movement of the upper die and the part that holds it is particularly hypnotic to look at! I'M SO BLOODY JEALOUS!
I’m glad you have a sense of humor about the hammer drop! Love your videos!
I came for the great skills but now I stay for the humor.. like on this old tony. Thanks!
Congrats on reviving a piece of history!
Nice work, I'm thinking there is immense job satisfaction in getting the big guy up and running!
Been watching since the first attempt, didn't work out, glad to see you finally have a power hammer working!
It's about as white here in Missouri as it is up there. The only difference is, ours is sleet. It's a glorious day when antique equipment comes back to life.
Dang man, by far the best music on CZcams. Reminds me of Yellowstone, which make perfect sense because you live in Montana. Keep up the great work my friend
I loved all the humor you put in this video.
Loving the humor here. Also gotta be careful with phases dropping on a 3 phase, I’ve seen them fail to trip a breaker and go molten
Awesome, love seeing old tools doing there thing and moving hot metal PERFECT!!!!!!
Patience is a virtue. Love it.
Does the flywheel system means that this hammer could also run on a main shaft and a steam engine? What a beautiful and scary tool!
Will. I like to Say thanks for Going Old School on your Machines. Us Older Timer Love to see you Restore this Old hammer. Peace Be With You. Need a Poo or Doo Shed.
That motor sounds really cool when it first spins up
That theeeuuiippppp noise as it takes up the strain? That will never go old
That is a great looking hammer! I love the sound of the belt engaging when you step on the lever. I know you must be happy it is finished and working, but it looks like you had just as much fun fixing and assembling it! Keep up the good work!
Everyone is happy it is back to work!
To bad I am just a hobby tinker and have no clue of smithing and the equipment needed for it, or the space in my dorm appartment, *blush*.
So I come here and have a nice long look at these wonderful and huge tools just to adore their magnificence.
Hey man I'm a newbie here ,. From Texas. I started out watching your video of your knives that you took to show and haven't stopped. WOW that's a Monster Pancake 🥞 Machine.
Really enjoyed the video series for the restoration of this hammer.
I spent three years in a factory that assembled induction motors like that one, and for a year or so I was in the paint department, and I gotta say
It’s Wild seeing one of those 1) painted red (we mostly did blue) and 2) seeing it done with a rattle can as it hangs from a chain lmao
The power hammer’s lookin killer, Will - kudos on not dropping this one
Man, that was an epic tale from beginning to end. Glad you got it fired up and running
Your welds look better than the fellow that used to be working around you. I haven't red head since 1975, bring back memories.
Wow Will, what a jam packed video! What a huge job that restoration was, congratulations on finishing. Enjoyed the whole series.
That's awesome, man! My heart broke for you when you dropped your last one and this has been an epic build, what a beast of a machine! Happy to see it come together finally!
No better feeling than when restoring/building/fixing something, the first time a test run goes perfectly.👍🏼 Well done
It's practically brand new now! Great job Will!! Looking forward to seeing all the projects you hammer out with that thing.
This is a really good restoration and a really good not-dropping-the-hammer
11:22 once you pop you just cant stop. Good job Will
She's a loud brute good luck with the tune up for her and thanks for the uploaded content stay safe

When there is a Will, there is a way
My local ACE would be lucky to have the bags your items came in, let alone the all thread and nuts. Glad you have a good hardware where you live.
SO cool to finally see it up and running!
Awesome , glad to see it coming along, but Man I miss you and Steele together . Loved those videos
As white as a polar bear in a snow storm. The power of that hammer must feel amazing when it strikes that hot metal.
“While we wait for those bolts to dry”…. classic. Well played, sir.
Always impressive to see those big'ol beasts running. Well done on the rebuild. Can't wait to see it hammering at full capacity.
Such a beautiful piece of machinery! Congratulations Will!
Well done young man, well done!!!
Great job, Will. It was a lot of work and pain. You did it!
15:24 Wow!!!! Great shot
The video quality is exceptional now, very eye-pleasing :)
That is one Very Cool power hammer. Great to see it running, look forward to seeing more episodes.
you know ace hardware, always comin through when you need them most ;)
You really need to be sponsored by the helpful place with the helpful hardware folks. I used to work for Ace and I would love to sponsor a channel like this if I actually owned one.
That shot at 15:25 is pretty damn splendid! Well done, Will.
That thing better be a beast for all the work it was
What a journey!
So happy you got the Beaudry running Will.
You should be very proud of yourself. Nice job shop is comming along nicely.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
Dude those drill and bit puns were great!
I started watching you on Alec’s channel because I loved your personality and how you can always stay positive and able to put a smile on my face, I am here for the long run and can’t wait to see what you make next
1 year and 15 days instead of ~3 months... I see you were originally working on Elon time!
Great to see it up and running. It seems to be a labour of love, & the results show what you've put into it. May it bring you much well hammered steel!
I am just glad you didnt get hurt by the previous power hammer incident
Wills welds looked just fine 👌
Hooray! It's alive!!!
I loved this! I've enjoyed watching this restoration and I'm looking forward to more about this lovely old machine 😊👍
Got the t-shirt a while back. Top notch item. Feels good, looks great. Generated comments when the back is read.
BAM BAM BAM BAM! Hysterical
Your awesome man! What an amazing spot you have to work too. Makes me want to go make more knives and coat hook and anything else that involves hot metal and a hammer. Thank you!
Can't wait to see episode 6! Nice job Will
one year and 15 days…..AND a series of great videos AND a lot of happy viewers !!!
great job will , but what’s next??? ;-)
Nice !! Good stuff will. I'm super excited to see you uploading more regularly. Your smile and attitude was one of the reasons I kept coming back to Alec's channel. Now that you have your own I'll be back for every video !
100% 👌🏻
Very well said..
Alec's
Alec does my head in after a while, I get the impression he's very big headed and no longer subscribe, this channel is much better vibes for a keen blacksmith hobby audience
