    You're so good to us sir. It hasn't been said differently yet if the Doctor is Mindbender or not but I think is posable giving the extra lenses on the right side of his glasses. Building on what I was saying in the comments of your Void Rivals #8 review, any planet with a sufficient level of technology can take advantage of Energon and Earth is is now just skimming the surface potential of it. Cobra-La being isolated from mechanical thinking were still able to crack the secrets of Energon and the Dreadnoks were able to get a random scientist to understand it. If this trajectory continues I could see Earth in this universe see a full on technological revolution. As for the Commander, he was nothing but loyal to Cobra-La in the original cartoon and was only removed after countless failures while this version of the Commander while still loyal but was betrayed from the get go only wanting to stand amongst Cobra-La Elites as eques(kinda sad when you think about it.) With Cobra Commander off Golobulus' leash, we know he is heading for Destro, we know Destro is on a collision course with the Crimson Twins and we know that when Cobra is fully formed it will have Destro, the Crimson Twins, Dreadnoks, Baroness, Major Bludd and many more agents, Golobulus might have to resort to the chained up Megatron or build Serpentor to take back control of Cobra Commander. The Energon Universe is now got a sizable Big Bad Ensemble now Megatron, Golobulus, Shockwave, Cobra Commander and Soundwave. not sure how to count Dulin and Zalilak everything on Void Rivals side of things is up in the air.

    • @Moonbase3
      @Moonbase3  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Man, so many good points and ideas raised here. I completely agree that Earth is going to be experiencing some big changes due to Energon/Cybertronian tech as it was foreshadowed somewhat in TF#5 during Wheeljack and Sparky's conversation. And you raise an excellent question about Void Rivals - who are the big antagonists? Maybe it is just Dulin and Zalilak...but there's also whoever/whatever Goliant is, and potentially Zerta and/or the Quintessons. Heck, even Proximus could become a major threat...although I wonder if he might become an ally at some point.

    Information dense but also fast paced. I agree that this story has been a tad better than Duke.
    As for the timeline I think this last in the order, but not by much. The suggestion of needing a new power source in Duke suggests the Commander is the one to bring it to MARS because the Dreadnoks haven't gotten around to it yet. Either way, I like the idea of Cobra's kooky vehicles needing something a bit more juiced than petroleum to operate properly.

I love the Cobra Commander miniseries, I know the story continues with Destro but I wouldnt have minded to see more of the Commander and Nemesis, and the general mysterious kinda vibe the series has, but yes better to end on a good note. Cant wait to see how Destro and Commander interact, given the difference in dynamic compared to other series. Also cant wait to see what Commander does with Cobra La and Megatron.

    I was pretty disappointed by how they dispatched Nemesis Enforcer. I can understand the idea behind it (an attempt to fully prove just how cut throat and harsh skybound's depiction of the commander is intended to be) but it ultimately just makes enforcer seem like a push over. Im not very enthusiastic about cobra commander's iron man gloves either. I've wanted to see a hasbro universe get off the ground but I dont want it to take cues from what marvel's already done to get the ball rolling. A part of me is equally put off by the prospect of all these miniseries culminating in some origin story behind the COBRA organization. Im very iffy on the direction thus far, here's hoping things improve. Also for what its worth Im surprised no previous attempts at uniting Transformers and Gi Joe ever relied on energon or cybertronian technology as critical components of their plots. You'd think that much would have been a no brainer!

    • @wendellstephens6311
      @wendellstephens6311 Před 3 měsíci +1

      I disagree about Nemesis. The Ironman glove was a last-ditch desperation move that needed an energon supercharge (albet diluted energon) to put down a flying hulk that easily killed, manhandled, and shrugged off damage from everything that he's been up against so far.
      It would suck if this was the last time we saw him, but I can see him coming back in some form due to Cobra-la science.

      @@wendellstephens6311 I'd be pleasantly surprised if he did comeback. It seems obvious to use Cobra-La super science as a way to revive the guy too so kudos for thinking of that. But given where skybound's other titles have gone thus far it wouldnt surprise me if this was the last we saw of him.

    • @lazer-ape
      @lazer-ape Před 3 měsíci

      @@wendellstephens6311 I just feel like the organization itself doesnt require an origin story. Its like they're trying to make everything into an avengers moment when some of these concepts should already be established within the universe. Cobra Commander will establish the Cobra organization and they'll expect the audience to rejoice despite the fact that we should have just started from that point. I give them credit for baking cobra-la into the beginnings of this continuity, and I even like what they're doing with megatron (even if its a little derivative), but its just as evident that they're trying to milk the brand for what its worth. In the past a story like this would have been told outright and the origins of Cobra Commander would have been saved for a random issue later into the comic's run, now every character has to have a solo of their own despite how easily those stories could have been condensed into one or two issues over six. Its all just left me a bit cynical.

    • @Moonbase3
      @Moonbase3  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I can understand where you're coming from, but for me, it wasn't so much that Nemesis Enforcer was a pushover, just that the "energon hadoken" was insanely powerful. I think they did quite a bit to build Nemesis up as an unstoppable force, which in turn shows us how powerful energon is.
      But, like I said, I can understand where you're coming from. Because of how quickly things are moving in this mini-series, it feels like we didn't get much time with him. Which is true, but I think they gave him more of a presence here than some of the characters that died in Transformers so far. :)

    • @Moonbase3
      @Moonbase3  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yeah, they're probably going for the G1 cartoon where they were often pink - the multi-colored energon cubes from early on in season 1 rarely gets any love, for some reason. But anyway, in this universe, the raw energon and the cubes seem to be pink, but - for some reason, it's blue in liquid form.
