Great Dinner with Duck, Chicken, Sambel and Dal bhari roti | Suriname 🇸🇷

Today, we cooked duck, hard chicken, chicken liver sambel and dal bhari roti. It was a great dinner with Vinod's family and we enjoyed the food a lot. In Surinam we also know roti filled with potatoes, pharata roti too and sada roti = unfilled roti. In India, Pakistan, Bangladesh they make different kinds of roti. The cuisine of the Hindustani people in Surinam cannot be compared with the cuisines of India. Almost every region in India has its own kitchen and they use a lot of spices.

Bihar (India) me dal bhari roti banti hai. These people or their ancestors migrated mostly from Bihar and eastern UP. They still follow and like Bihari food. And, speak in our dialect (Bihari). Nice.

Thank you for this information. Actually, it makes sense that daal bhari roti from Bihar and UP was taken to Surinam, Guyana, Trinidad, Fiji, Mauritius and other countries by the indentured workers. My nani also made roti filled with leafy greens.

We make daal bhari roti at home but with a different method Vinod 's recipie is better than ours because it's soft ghujia like taste whereas ours gives saboot(wholegrain)taste.We will make daal parantha with Vinod bhais recipie from now onwards

Topna (तोपना) is pure hindi / maghi word, which is enormously used in all over Bihar & UP. today also in daily life. I observed that Binod Ji speaking pure maghi (hindi) words like a Bihari, these words are being also spoken in Bihar today also.
