The broken ladder bit was a reference to the Legacy of Goku games where you couldn't go to Gero's lab in game because it was broken and had to find a different way.
I never put two and two together before this comment. Nice catch
I thought it was just a reference to generic RPGs where if there's a broken ladder then someone cannot proceed, but since the characters, here, can FLY it's obviously not a problem.

The "east city westmen" gag is lowkey one of my favorite jokes in the series. And the tragic deaths of TJ (and the WOMBAT!!!!) is one of my favorite overall scenes.

Yeah this episode is one of the best even for such a great series. It has a bunch of really good moments which can be easily overlooked.
You got to love the attention to detail some of the jokes have. Trunks using crapbaskets because Krillin left an impression on young Gohan who left an impression on Trunks.
I know it's been a while, but Gohan actually says Crapbaskets before anybody else. 1st time is when Vegeta thinks the radar is a watch in season 2

17 and 18's names, and the fact that 16 was modeled after Gero's son were tidbits that were dropped in a Q&A in 2014. The joke is that they came so late it sounds fake.

I seriously love the TJ and the Wombat segment. Its such an amazing horror scene with no violence shown, its just amazing acting and sound design. Honestly i hope TFS make more horror style skits cuz they showed they've got a real talent for it.

That has absolutely no link to the abridged version but I just noticed that the name of the building at 11:25 means "Tight ass" in french.
Actually, they make a reference to it in episode 30. Marron tells Krillin to make reservations at “L’Anus Cerré,” and she hears that they can be “quite uptight.” So this was a sort of brick joke from episode 30.

@@rewrose2838 Not sure it's something someone could pick up with just comedic sense though. Some of the things that made TFS' abridged so great was the editing, the writing that actually stuck closely to the original story, the amazing voice acting, and the extensive knowledge about and love for the original dragon ball. TFS was so capable and they were so passionate and cared so much about DB and DBZA that it honestly seems near impossible for anyone else to pick it up.
@@rewrose2838 I think it would be better to do a different series and merely learn from TFS when it comes to writing.
It is so endearing how the first amazing thing they see, the mention how sad their 4th Mate missed it. True Brotherhood right there.
Goku has more in common with Naruto and Monkey D. Luffy because they often dim witted with enormous appetite while Ichigo is male taundere still cool just different character

@Jimmy Estrada - It's the other way around. Naruto and Luffy have more in common with Goku since both of their characters were taken inspiration from Goku.
Goku has even more in common with Ranma Saotome. Right down to the annoying wife/fiance/girlfriend.

"Episdode 44" has always been one of my favorites.
Bleach wasn't in the dream segment because the joke was that Luffy and Naruto are derivative of Goku's character. While the legitimacy of that idea is debatable as they largely become their own characters as their stories progress, Ichigo from Bleach was never anything like Goku even though it's clear that Dragon Ball was a large inspiration for Kubo growing up.
Ichigo is more of a stoic character like Kenshiro and Jotaro. Kubo confirmed Bleach's power system was inspired by Saint Seiya.

Micky isn't bad either but I think Suraj is the most level headed and can have meaningful discussions with, as well as fun.

I believe I remember listening to either a playthrough or some random chat they had and they mentioned that happened. I could be wrong but I do feel like I recall them saying something like that. Though they might've also said they wanted to do something like that anyways.

About there abridging, sadly there done :( , they said it was a mix of creative block, how hard it is, and how often there channel almost gets deleted from copyright laws constantly changing.
A heads up, at the end of season 3, TFS seriously considered stopping due to burn out. They then decided to continue at the last moment and made it through DBZ Kai Abridged, but during writing of the Bojack movie script, they were getting nowhere and having no fun, so... they have made it fully official. They are done with DBZA. :(

Surj is the only one to ever catch every joke
I know that people usually say Cell as a whole is the best villain/character in DBZA, and while they're not wrong, I think specifically Imperfect Cell is my favorite. He's just so god damned unhinged and feral, in a way that Semi-Perfect and Perfect Cell aren't. He's goofier and more incompetent, but also more of a monster movie or slasher villain. Even his sexual innuendos are more unhinged. "It must be your first time, because YOU. ARE. TIGHT." is not something Semi-P. or P. Cell would ever say, but Imperfect Cell is just such a complete creeper in the most hilarious way.

Homez18 well, usually when they are talking, they are doing commentary on a part of the episode or related to the part of the episode. This is just a personal preference, but I think it would get kinda annoying if they paused the episode every time one of them wanted to talk.
@@azazelop5223 Then they should wait until the end of the episode to talk in the *discussion* segment of their video. And if you say "well they won't remember" then they should have a notebook with them to take notes about what the parts they want to discuss.
Tiago Cardoso well they do that for the longer conversations about the episode. But for small comments about the episode that work better in the moment, they probably should say it, or else the reaction is pretty boring, for me at least.

They did some clips of Super around 2017 I believe and one clip of og DB for TotallyNotMark’s channel. They also done the BuuBits for Mark as well. They haven’t done any abridged clips for GT though.
Trunks and Piccolo should’ve gone after cell and finished the job while Krillin and Tien could’ve headed to the lab 🤷♂️

The dream scene was a "Big Three" reference. Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece being the Holy Trinity of Shonen Jump anime/Manga. The equivalent of DC's Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman or Marvel's Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor.
Bleach would be like Marvel's Hulk or DC's Flash. They might as well be up there with the Big Three, but theyre not.
kourtney scruggs would put Spiderman and Wolverine in marvels big three because they’re more popular than Thor, captain America and Iron man. Unless you meant MCU, in which case, sure. Because marvels big three would undoubtedly be spiderman, Wolverine, and the X-Men as they were more well known than captain America, iron man, and Thor for marvel overall.
@@BabyGirlTiny Not in terms of popularity or sales, but in terms of in-universe significance. Thor, Cap and Tony ARE the Avengers, and every Avengers story has them in it. And they are usually the one's in the leading role. Granted, it doesn't feel like that because Marvel is happier to play with their roster more than DC, who often forgets that they have other characters they can use.
Would have loved to see Goku do a Bankai.
