- Mitakon 20mm f0.95 review on Nikon ZF. It's an aps-c lens but can you use it in full frame? Mitakon is one of the only 3rd party lens manufacturers that make good 3D pop lenses with micro contrast and depth. That vintage character look.

Squirrel asked for royalties, but Kasey refused
Not sure I want the Mitakon look from the thumbnail but props to them for reaching to the industry regulator directly.
11:04 - A week from now his fiance makes a video for the channel saying "he died of rabies but at least he died doing what he loved."
Squirrels are not a rabies vector species.
Black Squirrels Matter.
he'll live forever in our hearts, though
We need him to live, otherwise no one will roast a camera while unboxing it!
The slash, followed by the slow mo "whaaaat theeee hell maaaaannnn" made my whole day! 😅
"How can flowers be so colorful, and so boring at the same time?"
My friend you might be a funny guy but this is poetry. This could be straight out of sorrow of young werther.
Honestly, I've watched way too many squirrels as pets videos and they all say that squirrels are very tough to love because they are so rough. They dig in their claws and they bite to show love and affection.
So I think that squirrel actually loves you and wanted to climb on you to say thank you.
I'm a flower photographer. I love the flower photos. Very commendable
I stepped away from my computer for just a second and came back to the cartoon cats and shoes... I was a little confused for just a second..
Bro knew exactly what he was doing at 9:22 😂. Jokes aside, these are some of the best street shots you have ever done!
Haaa I know right !!! As funny as this was, I don't think anything compares to ''The best Interview'' ....
The Tru Sculpt flex transition is gold. 🤣

Never seen such cinema before. Squirrel-Man: Origins. When's the sequel?
I see you got the “the link will be live at this time” thing too. PAGE NOT FOUND.
And not even an affiliate link lol.
@@cameraconspiraciesthey have a program (probably doesn’t work either), but I registered and made the link. The resignation should be at the bottom of their main page somewhere.
mitacondria energized my sensor cells.😁
Nice footage with that lens, could definitely see some interesting footage being had walking around the city, I am all over the place everyday and see so much that I really wish I could spend time capturing.
The vignette on Mitakon was fire for the talking head part. For vlog, Mitakon with crop had real character, punchy contrast.
This is considered work in some cultures. I will steal that one, should keep the landlord at bay a few extra days from confusion if nothing else.
Love the sharpness and the subjects, 3d pop is there, log all the time - arms, legs and face as you moved back and forward into focus lol.. Its a good thing you are a young fit guy - the look on some of those people especially belly guy, sort of tells us they arent happy. lol. Squirrel footage is amazing. Wish we had squirrels in my country.
I think literally every person noticed you recording them lol.
3D Pop technology confirmed
Mitakon has been having allot of quality control issues with exactly the things you noticed, to the point they often start falling apart within a year. Most common is free spinning aperture or focus ring. I got lucky with just the front barrel in front of the aperture spinning.. but just tonight I noticed some wiggle behind the focus ring. It is either cheap hardware or failing glue instead of hardware. The optics are great, but they need to correct these problems fast or they will go the way of SLR Magic.
What's wrong with SLR Magic?
@@chromaticvisuelle They had massive quality control issues when they started. They went from being "wow, these will be amazing for micro four thirds", to "avoid at all cost" in less than 3 months. As for the Mitakon, I literally have it in pieces on the bench and will be making a video today for anyone facing problems with the 85mm 1.2 which likely will carry over to other Mitakon lenses.
I must be in luck since none of my Mitakon lenses had this problem and my 50mm f/0.95 is around 10 years old. But I did hear about QC problems in the past. Someone with a 135mm f/1.4 had a broken aperture control, and had to send it back, because the lens was stuck at f/1.4.
@@shang-hsienyang1284 Perhaps. It seems to me the quality control issues appeared mostly with the 65mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.2. If you watch my video where I reassemble the 85mm after it's last failure, you can see the lens lacks hardware where most would have it. It's held together by wishes and gravity ;)
yeeeees, thats what I was talking about, low element number, better characteristics of the lens with 3D pop :)
I think your lighting skills got a lot better then recently recently regressed again lol
I had J. Swizzle flashbacks during the street people video section. Wonder what ever happen to him? Nice lens! "Let's not get rabies! Squirrel, you look so fine eating nuts all of the time... Let's not get rabies Yeah! Lets not get rabies!
The aperture stop is a minor flaw but I'd guess where it settles is where it should be for fully open aperture. The focusing is probably a defective helicoid that should be returned to the manufacturer.
Your hair upgrade was Mighty
favorite lens mitakon 17mm .95
Just got the Zeiss 55mm f1.8 based on your videos and you are right the TONEHature is amazing and 3D pop is really there. I tried to find your review video of this lens, but am afraid I can not find it. Do you have a review? If not, review this lens 3D TONEH already. Thanks.
Time for Tony Northrup to make a video about your Kaseh addiction
It looks REALLY good, Mitakon rarely disappoints. I was looking forward to this lens, thanks for doing all these tests, different settings, and being honest as always. Mitakon should send you the 85mm next, I'm also very interested in this one. And it seems you are one of the few guys that actually test these lenses properly. Cheers!
That vignette feels like my vision when I'm depressed lol
At first I was like “ that vignette doesn’t look too bad in the dark…”
Goes outside….”ohhhhh..”
😶
Vignette was fantastic in the dark
Mitakon has an 80/1.6 in Hasselblad X mount that looks like fun.
Woooh video from before you put your fingers in the outlet !
Another fun, informative review 🙂
Ouch! Panning from that fitness ad to the fat guy was just brutal. 🤣
9:18 it was so good 🍔
The video off the ZF with this lens is looking so juicy and contrasty tho oof. I like FF with the digital crop best, personally.
Excellent vlog as per usual. Btw what is the name of your slowmo music you use?
vegetablepolice.bandcamp.com/track/moonlight-sorcerer
@@cameraconspiraciesthanks but that’s not the music you used in this vlog when running across the street in slowmo.

You resemble Jason Schwartzman from the movie Shopgirl with the long hair dude.
The footage does have that vintage lens look.
You should try the Helios 44-2 lens with a manual m42 mount adapter. It has some very unusual, swirly Bokeh. Lots of cheap used examples on eBay.
I second that. A MIR-24H (35mm f2) is also a great option :)
I have old ai-s glass and love it. I wish they would come in z mount with af.
the focus reminds me of back in the day when you used the g80 loser 5
Well I don't knıw the build quality but I like image quality actually...
build quality aside, when you nailed the focus, i thought the image quality was really nice and pleasing....and i sensed the 3D pop in some of those shots. i just don't have the manual focus abilities any more.
The longer hair was a special look.
This thing has all the Toneh
Needing that much background separation is Tony level. It's alright for talking head stuff, if you can keep in focus, but it seems a very limited use case. Especially if you don't want anything else at all in focus but your face. :-P It's got character, I'll give you that.
Toneh!!!!
How does Mitakon 35mm T0.95 compare to TTArtisan equivalent?
cool music!
Any chance of a transmission test? Does it actually perform a whole stop better than a known good T1.2/1.4? Compare it with a lens you have that DxO has tested to extrapolate a number for us? Please don't ban me for being more interested in light transmission than the generously demonstrated bokeh which I'd also play with, lol.
Forget the duschtuber light ?
Sometimes i enjoy watch clean shot..
I wonder if squirrels have evolved to the point that they're naturally attracted to photographers with big lenses who offer them almonds.
"No free photos", said the squirrel as he leaped at Kasey's arm.
@@MATCHLESS789 The squirrel knew he had a bigger bag somewhere and he was overheard saying "Show me your nuts" before he made the leap.
@cameraconspiracies you can change focus peeking color to red, blue, yellow, or white, iirc
Yes, since the early 1800's thanks.
@@cameraconspiracies 😂😂😂😂😂
Bet if you came with full Sony, that squirrel wouldn't even look at your almonds 😂
this vid should be called "this lens is ultra conspicuous". Everyone was put off by it. Even the panhandling squirrels.
Two videos in one day!
It’s like camera Christmas!
Does anybody else see the regular glitches in the ZF footage?
I saw it and thought, of my Notebook overheated or something. :O
@@collapsingruins thought my screen was about to go. Good to know it was just a Zf ;)
it appears the suspect person coming out of the toneh store was ready to donate bitcoin but the untimely panning away lost out.
❤❤❤❤
Come on Kasey, why didn't you get the Speedmaster 17mm MFT :(
That was not a Canadian squirrel
squirrel tough
Mark the squirrels you feed with some kind of pen (white for sure), then you'll find them again when you meet them and know they're fine. I do this with my squirrels. It's a good feeling, when the come to you and you see: Hey, old friend. I'm glad you're doing well.
Though Im a little annoyed at you for trying to make me look like a skunk.
@@collapsingruins lol...
Tony would have nice dreams if he watched this
2 videos back to back wow
You should sue that squirrel for assaulting you!!
0:12 I would let this man steal my woman
It slides because it is F 1..0,95 is hype
First.
I STG if you take one more photo……… Cameras are NOT meant for photos!! Camcorders…….those are for photos!
I have the 7Artisans 50mm f1.1. It has a smooth aperture ring (no clicks or hard stops). Found a tiny rubber band from the wife and its small enough to fit the gap between the lens and ring. helps keep the aperture ring in place, especially from accidental touches.
Belly part is the best
Nikon is clearly the king of 3D pop.
Out of focus manual lens with dark corners. This is not moving in the right direction.
Bad squirrel 🐿😡
Maybe it's just me but looks like awful build and meh picture quality, but f/1.4 full frame equivalent, impressive.
I like this lens wow wow
Great fun lens! How many times did you get punched? When they tried to punch you, you snapped their arms with your monkey strength and then left of a copy of your Monkey Strength book on their limp bodies. A really mean version of a Jehovah's Witness. They witnessed a beat down with a lot of 3D pop.
It's not only low element count, but also the lack of low dispersion elements.
For me the dof is too shallow for walking and talking to camera... it's making my eyes hurt... great for other things though
Is Canada in having black out? you are in the dark. haha, joking a aisie, I think your past 2 video look worse with blackout background. I prefer the usual light up blurry background look.
That squirrel may have mated with a feral cat. They're preparing for the takeover. I wonder if at that price, you're better of with a used copy of the old 23mm t1.4 in Fuji land. Thanks for the overview, have a rockin' weekend.
Your Z30 + digital stabilization might be a little tight. That’s why I use your favorite Sigma 16mm f1.4 on APS-C.
Mitakon affiliate link is broken
How can flowers be so colorfull and boring at the same time. Camera Conspiraces
The original Toneh... was Case-eh? It does sound Canadian.
years of complaining about Panasonic auto focus ended up in getting manual lenses and being out of focus the whole video 🙃 must be a Toneh addiction syndrome
Jumpscare from Jesus Kasey
Be careful using so much toneh, you could hurt yourself. LOL
Or you could just buy a Sony 135 mm 1.8
crop sensor lens F 0.95 = f1.425 full frame, however the look has character not a real F0.95 but what i need to see is your lens against a full frame lens F1.4 (please) Thanks
You saw that in the beginning, Voigtlander is T1.4.
Your son (in the beginning) looks a lot like you.
Mitakon.... the powerhouse of the c....amera
tbh the video looks bad with the lens. more noise. less color
Lmfao dude acts like he's never gotten anything for free before. Chill bub
What the hell is that creature in the thumbnail. Not the squirrel.
Cool lens but I see no 3d pop on this one
Time for a rabies jab.
