I personally have owned the Iriz Active for 1 year plus now. To be honest buying this car was one of the best decisions i made. The ride & handling is superb. The power is also available whenever i need it. No complains there. Fuel consumption was never a detail that concerned me. I was actually thinking of doing a full review on my own about my car. Please let me know if you guys think I should
Love it for the first few months. But got tired of the unresponsiveness of the cvt and broken window regulator after just about 2 years of ownership (warranty claimed though). Mileage may differ. Of course the handling is superb but that's it for me.
hate the gearbox jerk time to time on my current iriz 2019, hope the next iriz finally becomes longer and more spacious like the myvi. possibly with a d-cvt or anything better.
Problem with Proton is that of management, both political and administration. Proton had good engineers, designers, etc. Can be proud of them. However, typical Malaysia Boleh, it was never really managed properly, unlike Perodua. Look at the crazy number of models and variants which were available, and for such a small market like Malaysia. They should have rationalised the models properly over the last few decades. I suspect that political interference drove Proton instead of actual management focused on making cars that sells and sells well. Perodua is guided by Toyota who are car manufacturers that wants to sell cars. You just need to see how many models it actually had over the last few decades, and the focus on being reliable, safe, and bang for the buck. And that's why it is still more or less, a Malaysian company.
The handling is never an issue with iriz. The engine is. It’s criminal to sell that inefficient dinosaur in this day and age. Proton don’t want to spend money redesigning the face and improving the platform, fine. But find a new engine for this car, work with geely or hyundai
@@InnerFire6213 hahaha, I own an 2018 Exora Turbo which has 140 hp, higher than other latest mpvs which has less than 110 hp and not far from my wife's 150 hp X5O. Old is Gold?
@@daengzool6023 does the iriz have the same engine as your precious exora? Why is that relevant to this video? Also, don't act like the exora is so perfect. It's one of the worst mpvs to own in its generation that is still laughably sold today. The engine is still the same from the 2010s. Yours is 2018 so you won't see any problem now it is technically still new, give it a few years and you're gonna cry like so many in your car Facebook group.
Iriz all the way bro. Honestly, the cvt is not that bad. I owned Iriz 1.3 2018 and driven it for a long time. My advice is, during traffic light switching from N to D, wait a split second for the gear to grip or switch then you can accelerate quickly (maintaining below 2.2k rpm). Then, you can cruise comfortably at 80 kmh. Another issue with the fuel consumption right, you need to learn and readjust the driving style. Especially on the quick acceleration habits. This car won't go fast, however with gradual increasing speed and on the right hand, it will offer a premium quality driving. Imagine it like driving Mercedes, it have that similar feature at low price. I enjoy driving Iriz and will always be a fan of this car model. If you have any question, feel free to reply on this comment. I am also consider to purchase this Iriz active too!
Sure! Basically if you order the standard spec, you get a 1.3L engine with 94hp and 120Nm. If for Executive or Active, you get a 1.6L with 109hp and 150Nm 👍🏻
The handling of this IRIZ + the newly retuned & refined CVT = comfort all the way! Nice review too 👍🏼
Well said! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Glad to hear that you’re enjoying your car! Appreciate your feedback as an owner 👍🏻 do make a video if you feel like doing one!
Really hope the Proton Iriz new model will come up with 5-AT dual transmission, ADAS and similar interior as S70, especially the gear knob.
I really hope so too! They nailed it on the exterior already 👍🏻
Nice review Hann ☺️ warna merah Iriz ni memang terbaik. Seatbelt also red in colour ❤ handling best..👍👍👍
Thank you! Appreciate it, betul cantik 🥰
