Will ,Chris and Jada don't represent all black culture Hollywood is toxic and so is Will and Jada's marriage . I don't believe in putting people on pedestals in such a toxic industry you have to wonder what these people do to get to the top and stay there. So many of them put on facades pretending both on and off screen. Black people do need to unify this doesn't look good happening on a international broadcast . Will do through his weight around and the Academy accommodated Will. Chris should have pressed charges l guess he doesn't want to challenge a A list star .

@@seanpug1510 Chris is not going to prosecute for numerous reasons: Will gave Tony Rock his first TV show; they have worked together on projects in the past; Will most likely told him before NOT to make jokes about Jada due to that joke in 2016 (the Oscar situation); and Chris doesn't want to keep the beef going.
@@truthseeker5941 It is my understanding that material used on the show has to be approved ahead of time and that Will heard the joke during rehearsal and had no problem. Then, of course, he laughed at the joke. I actually don't think the 2016 joke has anything to do with this , but if your skin is that thin and your memory so long, perhaps you should not be in the Hollywood industries.

Yes, Maino was being an ass…not even trying to listen.
Al was excellent in that moment. He was patient and I’m glad he was able to finally get his point across. I was hopeful that the cast of the new show would become more articulate throughout the interview so that we would be enticed to watch their show and they did not.
Al did an excellent job handling himself. Maino reaction is a turnoff and I will not be watching or supporting them.

I love how the topics are not just celebrity news but, also real-life everyday people topics.
Will is dealing with the consequences of HIS behavior. However, there is a large segment who blames Jada either directly or indirectly. Will made the decision and is responsible for what he did. Since everyone assumes Jada is causing him misery and insecurity, there's always the choice to divorce so if he has not divorced her, it's safe to assume he is ok with their lifestyle.

Sometimes you hear people divorce after 30, 40 years. It took them that long to have enough. And they start telling everything. Everyone knows when they're done with something. That individual has to decide when they have had enough. Or not.

And put a halt to the red table talk they have. Their is two deal breakers for divorce physical abuse and adultery. But, as so many have said Will signed up for the Open Marriage situation. So, he can make up his own mind what he chooses to do.

That’s so sad about the young man who passed. I’m a great swimmer and I called myself being too cute for the arm floaties, had a couple too many drinks and 3 mins into the water I had a very close call. Luckily this gentleman that I heard on the boat say he was in the marines (white man) saved me, and helped me because I was having a panic attack in the water.
Snorkeling and scuba diving are very safe but you have to be carful and use caution. I always thought those boozy boats were a bit of a death trap.

I saw the interview with Will Packer, he explained the only reason Will Smith was not arrested was because, Chris Rock did not want him arrested. As a black women, I have to be very careful with my family. If someone did or said something crazy to me. I have had to stop my brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, my mom, my son, and friends. I had to let them know I will handle it. So I am very thankful to feel protected. Plus I handle it , because I don't want any of my love ones getting in trouble, because somebody has a negative opinion of me. What you think of me is not my business.

Reparations would work as a monthly supportive income amount for the rest of our lives. Not a one time $1000 - $3000 payment. Also, the act to push this should involve not only decendants of slavery, but include lynchings, actions of racial segregation, less than well-informed experimentation, wrongful death & unarmed killings etc.

Jada has humiliated Will for years with no public acknowledgment or recompense. from the public open love letters to Tupac, to the sexcapades with a boy-she has shown us that she gives no F’s about Will’s image or the relational health of their marriage. the night of the Oscars was highly telling.
1) Will was NOT protecting Jada bc she wasn’t in any danger. either there was context to the joke that happened off-screen that we’re not privy to OR Will gave his own context the joke and chose to react violently seeing Rock as a projection of public humiliation needing to be silenced.
2) when you give that joke the context (of Rock knowing Jada was losing her hair -which Rock has reported he did not know) it STILL ends a different way than it did. it’s not Leukemia -it’s a common condition which Jada has public boasted about “loving her bald head!. so where’s the “disrespect” or “insecurity” everyone is using to justify Will’s actions?
3) what we also see if a man who has allowed the stress, trauma, and public humiliation to build through the years without getting support to learn how to regulate his emotions. (his mom and sister said they have never witnessed Will angry or have an outburst, ever). VERY telling
4) clear also is that Jada doesn’t see Will as a partner or friend. she didn’t try to stop him! calm him! console him! her experience of Rock in that moment was more important that Will’s entire legacy. to see my husband that upset would have caused me to shift immediately! she didn’t budge!!!
5) lastly, most. black women see violence as protection bc a lot of the males they desire, are in relationships with, and were raised by justified violent behavior as a primary form of LOVE and PROTECTION. so most black women don’t know any better. 🔷 notice:::: women from other cultures don’t view male enacted violence the same
6) lastly, if this is happening at the top, what do we think is happening at the bottom?
regrettably, Will had to unconsciously create an emotional outburst of this magnitude and a fuk up this huge to get his attention and to make some hard changes in every area of his life.

I would want my man to talk to Chris behind the scenes in a professional manner. This is their profession. This was a professional event. It takes strength to remain composed, professional and in character and it’s actually weakness that finds us acting out of character. Will was displaying the opposite of strength.
Completely agree! I dont why folks dont realize this professional setting is the equivalent to a celebration in the breakroom of a workplace. Yes it’s downtime from actual work but it’s still work property and still a place to conduct oneself.
Well if that same sentiment was applied, his comment wouldnt be taken as that of a comedian and Jada would’ve been able to report it. If a person went on stage and made a joke like that then it would’ve been seen as unprofessional and against some type of company policy so Chris would’ve been reprimanded at the least. It was a result of bad judgement on both of their parts.
@@miatajones1 Many workplace events hire comedians for roasting. Heck, the president even gets roasted at his event. Chris rock is a professional comedian, hired for a professional event to perform a form of comedy known as roasting. This does not equate to a corporate setting where a "co-worker" isn't a professional comedian, hired for a professional event. Your example has nothing to do with my comment.
@@AmoMe2009 I briefly worked in finance and they always put on lavish events and parties. For one of our yearly events they always hired a comedian for roasting. They would give the comedian information about us so that he could roast us. When he got to me, he said something like "now, who did she screw to get in here?" and everyone burst into laugher, some of the guys even pointed to each other. (I was one of only two women at the firm).
I quickly retorted "Not you because you didn't even finish 8th grade" (because he had said early in his act that he had a 7th grade education). Everyone burst into laughter and he moved on to the next person. That's what roasting is all about. They're going to roast you, that's the form of comedy at these types of events and Chris, Wanda, Regina, they roasted everyone. Regina even made an entanglement joke. It's completely unacceptable to walk up on stage at a professional event and slap a comedian who is merely doing what he was hired to do -- roast. Nothing anyone says is going to make it okay. Period.
