I’ve just come across your channel and I’d like to thank you for how well you explain things. Finally I’ve got a bit of an idea of what I’m supposed to be doing lol x
Yes, thank you for clear and concise tutorials!
I love the colors. They give the project a sort of antique or vintage quality.
You can crochet over the tails, no weaving in later. Such a time saver.
I love these color combinations!
Simple and so beautiful, I love it!
Love this, gonna try it. I am loving doing the granny squares now since I learned your awesome join as you go method. Thank you again.
I love your videos. They are always very clear. Thank you. I'm just finishing my first ever granny square rug for my grandson. Maybe I will make my granddaughter one like this.
This is best pattern ever. I always go wrong on granny squares . These are perfect for me. I've just started a throw. Thankyou
This might be the prettiest square I've made yet! Thank you for making this video so easy to follow. The technique is so simple, but the results are so beautiful! 🏵️
Robin, I just discovered you after doing a quick Google search here in California. I’m so happy your video popped up because you are amazing. I’m usually very easily irritated by instructional videos because they never seem to hold my attention. But not yours. Just the right amount of instructions. Just the right speed. Great information and amazing follow into with all the links, printable instructions etc. Great channel I’m sure. Can’t wait to explore more of your content!!!!❤❤❤
Very late to the crochet game here. Am absolutely loving this channel! I wish all things in life could be explained so well❤ And, I love clashing colors on these. Thank you, Robin!
Absolutely adorable colors and cute as can be! love it good job well done!
I love this. Thank you! I'm trying to figure out my colors now. Blessings to you!
Hi, I'm binging on your video tutorials for the Granny Squares. I love them!!!
I'd never made them before today, I'm a crotchet beginner but you've made them so easy to crotchet along to.
Thankyou for sharing your expertise.
Happy Crotchet.
Take care and stay safe. Jen xx 💖
I really love this. Thanks.
Oh my! I just tried your way of closing off a round and I am so pleased with the result! Many folks have different takes on how to close out at round and I have been trying them all as I encounter them without being completely satisfied with any of them……till now! Thanks!
@@HookedbyRobin I have so many works in progress, but I love how quickly this works up so I am gathering my yarn now to begin a blanket for my very own self for a change!😂
love this. thank you!
This is lovely l love the border very clever, thanks for. All you do, 😊😊😊
So darn cute! Thank you for sharing your great tutorials! I was wondering if I could make a blanket with these and standard granny squares combined.
Beautiful I'm Going To Try This Thank You. 😊
Haven't started a project yet. I will practice on some scrap yarn. Then I'm doing a baby blanket. Very excited to do this. Beautiful pattern and that border is delightful. Thank you for this tutorial. ❤️
Hi Sharon, you’re welcome - I’m glad you like it. How did the practice go?😃🧶
Love the pattern, border and yarn choice, thanks for sharing. Kudos voor the pronunciation of 'Scheepjes', spot on!
tsiis You must be Dutch. 😄 So am I. Not easy to pronounce Dutch words for many people. Enjoy this yarn. I love it.
Thank u so much for learning this granny square, I m begainer ,so very helpful your video...thanks once again mam, I m from India's small village..
Hi just wanted you to know l made a huge blanket for a friend who has been through a tough time, it came out gorgeous a huge thank you. for sharing xxx
What a lovely thing to do for your friend! So glad it turned out nicely for you :D x
I love your nails! So pretty!!
Geniales los trabajos ,te sigo mucho .Felicitaciones
As always, you do a fantastic job with your videos and tutorials. Love them.
Hi Robin. I was a late learner but I can honestly say that I have learnt more about crochet from your videos than the books I bought !
Incidentally, my 13 year old granddaughter ,who lives in Sweden, showed me her crochet bumble bee and I discovered that she had found you as well !
I am doing your cluster stitch circle in a square blanket with the Hayfield yarn and I wondered if you had any tips for calculating how much yarn is needed to do the squaring off and joining in the Scheepes Colorcrafter ?
Ahhh so cute!! Your channel is going to be SUPER helpful when I start making more baby blankets for the hospital! Beautifuly clear tutorial too 😘
thank you ugh this was so helpful !!1
you are the first crochet expert I have seen using this method of holding the yarn and needle! I taught myself using this way as I could not get to grips w ith holding my fingers up for the yarn and holding the needle the way others do. So glad to see this. I also love this blanket idea and have sent off for some yarn - many thanks for the wonderfully clear instructions
Very pretty. I admit I've overlooked all the Scheepjes regular yarn because the whirls catch my eye. But that yarn is really very pretty!
I know this is an older video, but I'm using this motif to make a baby blanket for a friend and I'm so excited! I just started crocheting last month and your tutorials are my fave. My only trouble is I have such trouble with the treble crochet..mine always end up loose and awkward looking, and the stitch on top is often too big/wonky. Do you have any advice for a tidy treble crochet?
Hi it's probably a tension problem, try using a smaller hook, Good luck,
Thank you for the fantastic video, I am making the squares, and was wondering could you just make a big one with this pattern so no little squares? Many thanks
Love this video, you have literally taught me how to crochet. So i decided to learn granny circles. One question, do we turn after each round or just keep going? I noticed all the tails are on the back. Thank you 😊
So pretty, will you have a tutorial on making the boarder💖
I have a tutorial for the border! :D czcams.com/video/f3dle9LD4pE/video.html x
Could you make this into a valance ? With a different kind of boarder your suggestions please
I love the design and would love it in a curtain
Very pretty combos and I really liked it,I want to ask you what ply yarn you use to make table-cloth and blanket, would like to start soon thanks 🙏 dear ❤
This is absolutly fab! Im going to make my forst baby blanket but would like to know how much wool to buy, can you help? thank you so much for this xxx
Great video. If i want a bigger square would i just repeat the final round?
Hi from Carol in Australia, I'm trying to crochet sunflowers following Anita Louise's design and your technique, however I am having terrible trouble keeping my 2nd round flat, I have adjusted my tension, and added a chain between the double crochet stitches in the first round, but it still crinkles. HELP!! I am becoming very frustrated. I know there is a solution, because yours are always lovely and flat.
I absolutely love your videos and you have taught me so much already ..Thank you so much.. And by the way wonderful nail color as well..may I ask what brand an color u used?
Thank you so much! 🥰 As it is an older video, I can’t remember the colour but all my nail varnish information is here 😃; www.amazon.co.uk/shop/hookedbyrobin
Do you have a tutorial on doing the border for this blanket?
Love this granny variation! Do you think you could start your rounds, after the first one, with a standing dc?
I’d really like to make this as a baby blanket for my friend’s new grandchild. I love the colours you’ve chosen and wondered if you could advise how many balls of each colour I would need for a standard sized baby blanket, sort of cot size I’m thinking of? 😊
Hmmm good question - you'd probably need at least 2 balls per colour for the circle sections? The balls are only 50g so not massive amounts per ball (I'm not the best at gauging how much yarn for a project as I have a tendency to just "wing it" 🤣) You definitely need more of the cream for joining! At least 6 balls?
*disclaimer* I'm guestimating! It all depends on your tension and overall size of blanket
If you aren't a fan of just eyeballing it and wild guess work (LOL) then the sensible thing I'd recommend is perhaps getting one of each, see how many squares you get from that then you can calculate how much more you'd need :-)
Hooked by Robin I have a tendency to overestimate how much I will need and end up with many left overs for that stash busting blanket that never gets made! So I’ll take your advice, one of each and see where I get to with that - thanks for your time and help, it’s very much appreciated. 😊👋
I'm assuming yarn weight you used was a DK weight. What was finished size of block when you used 4.0 mm hook? Love this variation to granny square!!
can I use red heart yarn for this project? I love your patterns
If you wanted to do one more round, would you just repeat the last round (including the trebles in the corners). I would like to make my squares a little larger.
I'd do a normal standard granny round for a second round (so just double crochet granny clusters all round) 🙂
@@HookedbyRobin thank you SO much! You must have been right at your computer….what a fast answer!
How do I square off if I’ve a circle of 4 rounds instead of the three in the video? Can anyone help please?
Hi Robin, I started this crochet project quite some time ago and had got as far as joining them with the continuous join as you go method. I have about 24 joined currently and lot s of circles ready to go. My problem is I cannot now find instructions of how I did the joining, all I can find are videos showing how to join a granny square. Can you point me in the right direction please?
So so beautiful !! Hi how much yarn did you used of each colors ? (Sorry for my english i’m French ) ! Thank for this lovely pattern ❤
Do you have anything that shows how to turn this into a sweater or vest? I love your pattern to follow.
Hi Robin, I'm a beginner... when doing round two, I have trouble finding the stitch where my chain three (round one) is. Any suggestions?
Can you make it a big circular like you can with the granny square
@hookedbyrobin Hi Robin, thanks so much for this tutorial! I've made lots and lots of circles and want to do the continuous joining method. When I follow the link, it goes to a video which shows pre-existing square rounds, rather than circle. I'm not sure whether I'm supported to follow your squaring technique in this first video (I'm commenting on!), I guess so, but you say in the video to only to that if you want to join it one by one ( rather than continuous joining). Sorry if I'm totally missing the point :-D Would be so grateful if you can clarify, thank you xxx
If I want a 4th round of color before squaring off, would I continue in the same pattern and do 4 dc in ea ch sp? And then follow the same directions for squaring off?
Yep! You'll need one extra side section on the squaring off round too :-)
After i did the slip stitch my chains got messy what should i do 😭
Since I'm fairly new to this, I'm wondering if you could tell me how many squares I need to complete a throw/afghan size blanket?
Hi Kathleen - there is no set answer as such as it depends on a couple of factors; how big you want your finished blanket to be and how large each individual squares works up :-)
I'd advise to make a square, measure it and then you can work out how many you will need to make a blanket of the size you want! (I hope that makes sense!)
@@HookedbyRobin thank you, yes it does help and makes so much sense lol
Can you use this method on the Heatgon instead of the circle.
I have a similar hexagon style here if that helps? czcams.com/video/DjpuUpJAKsw/video.html
You say "halo", I say "pill-o". Pill-o-matic yarn, that is! Or future felting.
What does the yarn consist of?
Where am I supposed to be placing the last double crochets on round two? Somehow I always end up with 11 stitches even though I'm following exactly what you're doing. All my Granny squares are wonky cause I don't have a stitch for the last 2 double crochet
I followed the video to make 40 of the first round cause I have a big project but now I can't use any of them cause somehow I always end up losing the last stitch. I'll probably have to redo it all and do 12 double crochet in the magic ring just to get this to work.
Could I do this is one solid color?
Yes definitely Andrea!😃 It just won’t give the same look, but it is person preference.x
Mine came out curled what happened?
what are the dimensions of the granny square
I want to JAYG, but your tutorial for this is for a square and not round motif. Please help! 😭
Think I must have missed something. Can you do the continuous join as you go from the circle stage or do you square them off first?
From the circle stage! So just treat the squaring off part the same way you would do the continuous join as you go with squares (I hope that makes sense!) X
OR you can do the Continous join as you go AFTER you've squared them off - totally up to you! 😍
Think I’ve got it - presume you still use the trebles on the corners? So needy.........😉
@@paulapomeroy830 yep! Still need the trebles - use those instead of ordinary doubles in the CJAYG if you are doing it from the circle only stage 👍
P.S. not needy at all! I'd rather you ask and have it clear in your brain box! 😅
Thank you my lovely! Love your teaching style, the odd appearance by your animals and your lovely lilt. Learning new skills is my hobby and luckily my local hospital takes blankets for dementia patients. I might need them myself one day! Tried to “buy you coffee” but my card security wasn’t playing nicely so I’ll try again.
PS. What brain box? 😉
