Dr. Kacem Zoughari -- Kako, Genzai, Mirai (Documentary on The transmission of ninjutsu and bujutsu)

  • In this 40 minute documentary, Dr. Kacem Zoughari discusses in-depth the various methods of the Den -- transmission -- of japanese classical martial arts, including ninjutsu. Written ninja manuals like the Bansenshukai, Shōninki and Ninpiden are analyzed in this light, and Dr. Zoughari explains why they are not as interesting as many today believe. The title of the movie reflects that the transmissions of old are just as useful today and will adapt to the future -- if the flow is kept clear and true.
    Produced and edited by William Ustav.
    Music by Rannar Sillard.
    Thanks to Cecilia Andrén, Brandon Alvarez and Martin Fujan.
    Any mistakes in the movie are only a reflection on the editing and not Dr. Zoughari. This 40 minute film was edited from a 2 hour interview.

    Very interesting video , I have read the four major ninjutsu book (ninpiden, shoninki, basenshukai and the gunpo jyoshu), and there is no mention of fighting skills , or maybe not directly. I think that ninja did practice martial art or bujutsu ( what comes to mind is koppo jutsu and koshijutsu) and Ninjutsu (it was not the same). If we look for exemple at mister Jinichi kawakami, he is soke of several ryuha that include koppojutsu and weapons and other of ninjutsu that do not include fighting skills. The same goes for fujita seiko who was soke of several school of bujutsu and 1 of koka ryu ninjutsu. I think there is a big confusion about the word "ninjutsu"

      Do you mean you have read Mr Cummins "translation" of these 4 books? Please look at the video again if you did not notice what Mr Zoughari said about such works. To my Eyes Mr Kawakami is most likely a fake. His martial arts demonstrations are of poor quality.

    There is not the martial art called "Ninjutsu" in Japan.
    There is a martial art called "Ninjutu" in the country except Japan.
    For a Japanese, Ninjutu is scientific application of the farmers.
    For a Japanese, the school telling "Ninjutsu" as martial arts is a fraud.
    Japanese traditional association of martial arts and Japanese Government do not accept Ninjutsu as a traditional martial art with a Japanese.
    It is only a foreigner to believe Ninjutsu as a martial art.
    It is because they believe a fiction movie.
    If a foreigner does not learn the right history; Ninjutsu for the business of the fraud remain it.
    There are many the false ninjutsu schools which assumed Bujinkan.
    However, Bujinkan consents tacitly to it.
    Therefore the Japanese does not trust Bujinkan very much even if the Japanese evaluates martial arts of Bujinkan.
    The public system summarizing Ninjutsu like Aikikai does not exist.
    Therefore the foreign greenhorn of Karate and Aikido establishes Ninjutsu school for money-making.
    Karate and Aikido have nothing to do with Ninjya really.
    And there seem to be a lot of false Japanese traditional martial arts schools in the foreign country, too.
    The Korean false traditional martial arts school sometimes camouflages Japanese martial arts.
    Taekwondo-karate.
    Taekwondo is a copy of Shotokan karate.
    The Korean let karate deteriorate as sports.
    Kumudo-kendo.
    The Korean said.
    If "a Korean removed a manner from Japanese martial arts, it is Korean traditional martial arts"
    Haidongkumudo=TATE.
    (Japanese samurai movie sword action))
    The Korean government publicizes Ninjutu to the world as Korean traditional martial arts (Sulsa).
    The real nature is Hapkido which copied Aikido.

    • @gekiryudojo
      @gekiryudojo Před 10 lety +4

      you are still miles off the mark on Ninjutsu. and no one cares if Japanese traditional association of martial arts and Japanese Government do not accept Ninjutsu as a traditional martial art. If you have not trained in it you will have no idea any way. now watch the video and listen! to what Dr. Kacem Zoughari says ie Martial art does not Fit! Ninjutsu it does not fit Ryu. I guess you was the one who marked this video down without understanding anything.going off you're spelling English is not you're first language? as for the Taekwondo? we know all about that but that is irrelevant on this video! rant somewhere else who ever you are. ok?

      Steven K I test every thing on the street always have I do not do sports. never have. I have also spared with guys from many different arts they all lost. I am sorry it did not work for you.
      also I have to say I judge every practitioner in the Bujinkan individually Because I know there are many very bad one's. but also some very good ones.

    • @richardmaier
      @richardmaier Před 10 lety +2

      Steven K Dear Sir, there is no such single organization in Japan that can judge the existance of ninjutsu in the Bujinkan Ryuha. You would need to have access to Hatsumi senseis documents as well as do extensive research. Hatsumi sensei did not want to share documents with those outside the ryu-ha, end of story. Lies are not based on peoples language skills. You forget the japanese shihan that has been around for many years. As for old documents, this is your assumption since you do not have access to the densho or makimono.

    • @gekiryudojo
      @gekiryudojo Před 10 lety +3

      Steven K No Densho is worth anything unless you were shown how to do it by a master first they are a reference!
      You cannot just look at any Densho and think you know what is in it! That is just ridicules. I have copies of all the Bujinkan Densho and hundreds of pages of explanations. training in it since 1978. and I am still learning from it. You are not going to determine anything without seeing the original Densho. But it does not matter anyway the people that need to know .KNOW

      Ever stop to think that BBT didn't fail you , but YOU failed you ? Just because BBT didn't work for you , doesn't mean that it doesn't work , or that it's a " fake martial art " , " theatrical martial art " or full of " lies " . And judging by your posts , sounds like you are dealing with some underlying issues apart from any art that you study that have more to do within , rather than without

    In this video he admits directly that there is no proof that "ninja" or "ninjutsu" existed; he states he (we) do(es) not know. He has to do that in order be taken seriously academically. Despite that, without hesitation he immediately goes on to talk about the "ninja" as if they existed, forgoing everything he said.
    Therein this is hypocrisy of the highest order, which is literally a shield of "arguing from authority" with a heavy does of "confirmation bias" at every step of the way.

    My problem with Ninjutsu, and this is more of a question, is I do not see it in practical use. It looks like it works great against people using the same techniques as you against you. Why is this practical in modern times as a martial art (not sport but martial as in the combat term)

    • @HiramekiDojo
      @HiramekiDojo  Před 8 lety +4

      +edemardil Hi! Thank you for your question. The techniques of the ryūha in the Bujinkan, such as Gyokko Ryū and Kotō Ryū, are supposed to work against any style and all kinds of attacks. The densho never specifiy any certain kind of attacking style. It is up to the practitioner to explore the movements and experiment according to his own level of skill. A ryū of martial arts would most certainly be useless not just now, but especially in old Japan, if its techniques are only effective against other practitioners of the same ryū. It is natural to start the practice of new techniques against certain specific attacks (the equivalent of a basic level of the techniques), and progress by adapting the movement against other kinds of attacks.

      +Vitali из Германии Well, i wont say a Ninjitsu practitioner will defeat everyone from MMA. At the end of the day, its not the about the art but the person. It would be hard for a Ninjitsu practitioner to beat an MMA im sure, because most of the technique used in Ninjitsu isnt allowed in MMA, a sport bound by rules and prolonged fighting. As a ninjitsu enthusiast myself i humbly say that you are not wrong my friend :)

    It's great and all and no question of his talent but this nonsense of linear vs circular goes to hell when you actually face a skilled opponent. If a boxer attacks you and you think a lead hook or upper cut is slow... you are done. Because there is no pressure testing and everything is conceptual, of course everything works and is high level. Reality is a whole other thing.
